I have enjoyed the thin cut peppered product by Cattaneo Bros for over 40 years. The latest reviews are correct when they state that the jerky is not the same quality as in the past. I totally see what is happening to make a better profit for the company. Instead of an 8 oz. bag it is 7 oz., and the jerky isn't dried completely. It is left with more moisture to create more weight. This definitely alters the quality of the jerky as well as allows it to create mold. It is really sad to see this quality jerky company cutting corners to make a profit. For us that have been loyal customers for decades, these alterations make me turn away from continuing to support this business. I wish you the best of luck with your decisions but hope that you respect the recipe that made the jerky better than all the competition and change it back to what it was.

As many have said, I've been loyal customer for +20 years, but quality control has been fairly bad for about 2 years. Classic cut was always a great option, but now it varies wildly; some piece are good, some taste wrong and some are inedible due to poor quality cuts and curing. Thin cut is about all you can reasonable order and expect that CB quality, although the favoring is odd on many pieces. A note to mention is that I would buy in batches at their actual factory in SLO. There Jerky is still overall good, but this review hopefully inspires the team to up the quality control. I will not stop buying CB but do hope it gets back to the quality of 2015 era.

My favorite beef jerky ever but the jerky chips being discontinued is inexcusable! The quality control has taken a recent hit also which is sad to see as a loyal customer for a very long time :(

These are actual photos of the product you’ll receive. I reached out to the company in hopes that they would replace their spicy beef sticks batch and send me out a fresh batch without this appearance. The company ignored my request by saying it was fine. I also, ordered a batch of teriyaki sticks which didn’t have this appearance or texture on them. I didn’t want a refund just a replacement after I would ship this batch back to them. Instead of the company standing by their product and honoring great customer service, they flat out ignored my request. I emailed them back saying these are the pics that should be shown on their website for buyers to see and if the appearance is fine, it should be posted and stated online. My husband has had their products in the past and never had an issue like this, their quality control needs to be reevaluated if this is the product they’re packaging out to consumers!!! I will not order from this company again. I know it’s family owned which is even more disappointing, also very confused and unprofessional younger staff answering the phones for the company.

I have been a loyal customer of this establishment for over 30 years, but I must say that the quality of their products has been inconsistent lately. In the past, I used to order jerky once a month and sometimes it was really good, but other times it was quite fatty and seemed underdeveloped.Recently, my disappointment reached a tipping point when I discovered mold on two out of the six packages of jerky I had set aside for four months. Concerned about the quality and my health, I reached out to the company, hoping they would send a replacement. However, I was met with a disappointing response as they declined my request for a new package.It's disheartening to see that they don't seem to prioritize client satisfaction or even the health of their customers. As someone who has been a loyal patron for decades, I had expected better customer service and accountability from them.Unfortunately, due to these recent experiences, I can no longer support a business that doesn't value its customers. I'll be exploring other options for my jerky purchases in the future.

To this day, this remains my favorite beef jerky company ever! I haven't been able to find anything even remotely close to their delicious jerky. Top fav is the black pepper jerky.

I can't eat any other jerky now. I used to get the wagyu bag from costco but it just tastes so bad after trying Cattaneo's original flavor. Original cut is so good but thin cut us where its at too.
