“Don't be put off by poor reviews, Hayward Lumber is big, they have pretty much exactly what you want, at least when it comes to Lumber (that's the name of the business after all). We very nearly didn't go here because of several bad reviews. All I can say is that the reviewers must have been unlucky, because the experience my wife and I had was outstanding.As far as being helpful, one of the staff went out of his way to walk across the yard to seek us out to ask if we needed help. When we outlined our requirements, he guided us to another part of the yard and found us the most cost effective option, which turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. The checkout staff were also helpful and friendly, this will certainly be my "go-to" place for lumber in the future.One word of caution, because they mainly deal with large contracts/contractors don't expect the "Ace Hardware" treatment if you go during their busy times, we went when it was quiet and there were staff available to help.”
