probably the best dealership purchase experience ever over a couple of decades of buying new cars. No nonsense, everything done by email, treated well in-person.

We leased an Ioniq 5 and worked with Anthony and Joseph. They were both awesome. Joseph took a ton of time to walk me and my wife through the car, including all of the technology, in person. Anthony was quick to reply to my questions over text and phone calls. He was knowledgeable and professional, even helping guide us to additional EV credits through 3cenergy that we were unaware of. Sergio in their financing dept was also a pleasure to work with. Great experience all around. Can’t say enough about the people here and the dealership!

This was my first car purchase in years so I was a bit nervous. Joseph was both helpful and knowledgeable. After talking with him and taking a test drive, I found the best vehicle (Kona SEL) for my needs and price range. I love my new car and highly recommend Hyundai of San Luis Obispo!

The process was quick and easy. Joseph was extremely helpful. From the day that we test drove to a few days later when we eventually purchased the vehicle. He was readily available and answered all of the questions we had. Go see him for your next purchase, you won't be disappointed.

be careful going to this place. I went in because my car was overheating, the person at the counter told me immediately that it is most likely the heater core. they had the car for about 15 minutes then the main person told me it was for sure the heater core and it would be 3000 dollars to fix it. I don't know how they new this so quickly so I took the car to my dad and he found that one of the tubes coming from the radiator was almost completely off and not connected, he also replaced the thermostat. after this the car was completely fine with no issues, no overheating. also at the end of all this the dealership lost my keys for about an hour and couldn't find them.

Best Hyundai service center I’ve been to. My car had multiple issues that other shops simply refused to fix, blaming it on some random thing, but this shop fixed things that had been wrong for over 2 years!! Ordered the parts under my warranty and got my car fixed in a day.

Nice. $200 to run a diagnostic test on my stereo. Just to tell me that it’s busted and I should go to a stereo store. I’m guessing it took that guy less than an hour to figure that out. $200 an hour? What a joke.

CAUTION, Hyundai of San Luis Obispo, DOES NOT DO A FULL DIAGNOSIS of the trade in vehicles or the cars THEY PURCHASE AT AUCTION prior to selling them. I recently bought a used car there and had transmission problems from the start. When I took the car into the service department the service manager Jim Bonn charged me $200. to have the car diagnosed only to have the transmission problem confirmed. At that point I was told that they are not interested in servicing or repairing the vehicle and handed me off to Coast Nissan for any repairs that needed to be done. They were very friendly when I was buying the car, but became very unfriendly and stern in their ways afterward. Furthermore, I emailed the owner Rob Haupt on a few occasions in refence to the problem and he never got back to me. Hyundai of San Luis Obispo reminded me more of a SHADY USED CAR LOT than a reputable major car dealership. I WOULD NOT TRUST THEM. If they admit they DO NOT DO A FULL DIAGNOSIS of their vehicles they are selling unreliable cars to the families in our community and seem to focus more on making a profit. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT purchase a vehicle at Hyundai of San Luis Obispo. They are a very slippery dealership and you CAN NOT TRUST THEM.

The service department is telling me stuff about my vehicle that needs to be replaced
When you look in the owner's manual it says the mileage and time when things need to be replaced and my current vehicle is nowhere near any of those things that need to be replaced they are just trying to upsell me stuff that I do not need do not want and do not appreciate
Yeah I like the free oil changes for the first 60,000 miles of the car
But don't tell me I need to replace the coolant in the engine because the owner's manual says 120,000 miles is when you replace it I think the manufacturer actually knows better what to do than the dealership is just out to nickel and dime you
Do you want me to replace the brake fluid
I have another vehicle that's got 200,000 plus miles on it and it has the original brake fluid in it when we bought it so why do I need to spend more money to replace something that's working just perfectly fine
You want to talk about a overpriced air filter
Cabin air filter $85
Engine air filter $65
I can get two very good air filters online for the half of the price of the engine filter
Do your own maintenance as long as you know what you're doing replacing air filters is very easy and will save you money in the long run

I am one of the 79%er's who have issues with my EV (Tucson PHEV). Except for the exceptional service I've received from Hyundai San Luis Obispo, I wouldn't advise anyone to buy a Hyundai. I do love driving my Tucson and like the PHEV benefits but still having an unresolved Bluelink software issue after seven months of ownership makes me wish I had bought a Toyota instead for their better reliability. I have received very poor customer service from Hyundai Motor America and Bluelink.

Had an issue with backup camera. Took it to the Hyundai SLO dealership yesterday (I bought my car from this dealership). Explained the problem and that I had updated the display software but problem still occurring. After 2 + hours they told me I needed to update the navigation software also and that might fix the problem. Even though my car is less than 3 years old, with less than 25,000 miles and under full warranty, Hyundai apparently doesn't offer free updates to display and/or navigation software even though this software impacts your backup camera. This is not the dealerships fault, but still a huge disappointment when part of buying a Hyundai is because of the great warranty. Thomas (service writer) told me to update the navigation software, then recheck the camera. He gave me the website URL to download the software. If I have issue and need them to do the navigation software update they gave me a written estimate of 3 hours at $585.00!! After leaving Hyundai SLO, I called Winn Hyundai in Santa Maria to see what they said about the updates not being covered. They said that is true that the software updates are not free, however Winn Hyundai only charges $150.00 to update both the navigation and display software no matter how long it takes. That's right, Winn charges $435 LESS than what Hyundai SLO is charging. Today I drove down to WINN to get help with my backup camera issue and software updates because $435 is a huge savings. Guess what Winn told me? My navigation software CAN NOT be updated because I my car is a base model that DOESN'T have a navigation system! So glad I didn't pay Hyundai SLO $585 to update software I don't even have. This is not my first issue with the Hyundai SLO service department. They kept blowing me off about seat belt recall work.... "parts on order, the parts will be in next week..." then weeks later "you're still on the list, the parts haven't come." Same story over and over. After about 6-8 weeks of getting the run around, I called Winn Hyundai about the seat belt recall. Winn's service manager tells me, "parts are in stock. I'll order them today and have it in 3 days." Guess what, 4 days later I drove down to Santa Maria and had the recall seat belt pretensioners replaced. Going to the SLO dealership is closer to home, but I should have learned then to just go to Winn instead. Well, thank you Hyundai SLO, I got the message load and clear yesterday. How the service writer and whatever service technician who evaluated my car and didn't figure out I don't even have navigation system is beyond me. And, your dealership should really consider offering a more cost effective software update option to customers that purchase their cars from the you. That way your customers feel valued and want to come back for services and also want to buy their next car from you. Instead, I feel that you were trying to rip me off with a $585 update for software that I don't even have. Clearly I would have been back paying your fee to get help had I tried to update it myself because it wouldn't have worked and my problems would have persisted.

I have gone to San Luis Obispo Hyundai for all my service needs on my 2018 Sonata since I purchased the car 5 years ago. I have always felt extremely well cared for by the service department team. I would recommend them because I feel they are trustworthy and they have never tried to upsell me or recommend service that was not needed. As a woman I did not feel comfortable going to a car dealership in the beginning, but my experience has consistently made me realize that my concerns were unfounded in the case of San Luis Obispo Hyundai.

Got a check engine light and car began rumbling in the middle of a long distance trip and this dealership was the only place open. Upon inspection they couldn't figure out what the problem was and suggested flushing the fuel injectors as they didn't know what else to do. I drove it home and took it to my mechanic who found the problem immediately and fixed it easily.I basically paid $200+ to be told they didn't know what the problem was and didn't know how to fix it.
