DownTown Auto Repair 1495 Hays Street, San Leandro CA 94577 (Behind Safeway. Corner of Hays Street & w. Juana Ave) March 22, 2024. Note: Support Local Business. Support DownTown Auto Repair. Support Devin and his great quality of work. Typical me, did not pay attention to my DMV renewal registration. Must do a smog check at a star approved smog center. I always pass by this Valero gas station and thank goodness I remember the "Star" sign for smog check. Told the parental unit to take her car there for her smog check and I will take mine after work. Parental Unit called me with nice sayings about how everyone was nice, and smog check is fairly price for her Nissan Rouge. Few hours later it was Hello Kitty's turn (Yes, my car's name is Hello Kitty). The wait was not as bad, I would say 20 mins. I am sure weekends they are busy so always call first for an appointment. Hello Kitty passed with her flying red colors for her smog check. Thank you Devin & DownTown Auto Repair. You now have us as your loyal customers.

I rarely left negative reviews but I would rate zero star if I could. I got a few things replaced and fixed (AC, brake, oil change, fluid, etc.) in about 3 hours. Total charge was $1200+ which $900 was labor cost. Avoid this shop if you don't want to be scammed.

Devin is amazing. I wish I could give him 10 stars. His prices are extremely fair and he's the nicest guy ever. I'm so glad he's just down the street from me. It is so hard to find a mechanic you can trust these days and Devin is the man. My car sounds brand new again. He explained everything he did, showed me the old parts he took out and everything. Devin, I'll continue using your services and thank you so much. You turned my frown upside down! :)

I came to this repair shop a few times. Devin is really great with car problems, repairs, etc. Fair price, knows his stuff. I came today again, my battery was acting funny and I was worried to be stuck with a dead battery. He replaced it right away, I didn't even have to wait. Highly recommend it!

Had no idea what was going on with my truck, and Devin took care of me. Towed my truck over and he took care of receiving the truck so I could go drop my brother off at school. Great work and a great price. Will definitely bring my vehicle back when I need work done

We had a huge nail through our tire, and needed replacement brake pads. Downtown Auto Repair did a great job and had our car ready to go the same day. Would definitely recommend them, a solid experience with nice folks and well done repairs.

I can't say enough good things about this place. I found them because I needed a shop that could smog my older car. Most smog stations can't smog older cars. During that smog visit, I mentioned to Juan that I have engine problems in one of my other cars. I told him I had already taken the car into a different repair shop and they had given me a very high estimate to fix a supposedly blown head gasket. Juan at Downtown Auto Repair suggested I bring the car in so they could look at it. What happened next was rather shocking. They did not find the specific engine problems that the other place had found. The other place told me the engine had a blown head gasket. Downtown Auto said it didn't have a blown head gasket! What!? Devin said the cooling system just needed to be flushed out and we should replace the thermostat that controls the cooling system. They then did that, at a fraction of what the other place would have charged me to rebuild the engine and the car now runs great and no longer overheats. I am so very grateful to Devin and Juan at Downtown Auto Repair for helping me with my car and fixing the problem for an affordable price. Devin even called me the next day to follow up. Who does that anymore? Like in the good old days! I am so impressed with these guys and will go back there for sure, should the need arise again. Don't hesitate to go to Downtown Auto Repair! I highly recommend this place! Very good service, excellent work and most reasonable prices. Needless to say I am super pleased! Devin and Juan saved my car! Thank you, Devin and Juan! My daughter drives this car most of the time and she is so happy the car is fixed! My daughters screamed with joy when I told them!

My car didn't have AC for about 2 years and everywhere I went they said it would cost thousands of dollars because of the compressor and work. I took it with the mechanic there and he fixed it in less than 8hrs for 300 he literally saved me so much money for a great job. Also super cool dude; New customer for life.
