I take my dog to their conformation class on and off for the last year, and I am so thankful to have found instructor Brad. He is full of knowledge and truly makes you a better show handler. He will make you work with his honesty, firmness, humor and fairness towards the owners and dogs in the class.

I have taken classes at this AKC obedience dog training club and others in the Bay area. I have been impressed with Denise Laberee and would highly recommend her class, but the other instructor, Mary Bayley, is unfortunately not ready to teach.Denise has forgotten more about dogs than most of us will ever know. She watches each handler and dog carefully during class and has a suggestion or demonstration that helps each team progress a little with every session. The structure of each class is similar but varies with the successes and struggles going on that night. I always left feeling like I had an idea what to practice at home. However Mary, who may be a very good trainer for her own dogs, has a set routine of specific AKC exercises which she runs in the same order. She offers no advice when handlers aren't able to get their dogs to perform the exercises--the class just moves onto the next thing on the program. She also seems unprepared to make recommendations about managing typical dog misbehavior. Of course typical dog misbehavior is exactly the reason many dog owners are seeking out obedience classes in the first place! Unfortunately I have also seen her resort to ridicule and sarcasm, which have no place in a learning environment.I would highly recommend taking classes at this nice facility, right off 880, if you're sure Denise is going to be the instructor.

This club is very unfriendly and makes you feel stupid by embarrassing you n front of everyone else in the class... paid for an entire obedience series of classes and went to the first one and will not go back... save your money DO NOT GO THIS PLACE

Started 4 weeks ago and I've learned so much already. I take my Doberman. I love the classes!UPDATE: My Dobie completed the class. I always got a lot of help and support from the staff. My dog and I have bonded on a new level. Early on in training our instructor talked about a cgc test at the end of the series. I didn't pay attention cause I didn't think my pooch could do it. But my pooch passed the test! I am forever grateful.

I started bringing my English cocker puppy in for conformation classes last year. I have never shown a dog before and had no clue that so much went into it. The amounts of things I have learned in thIs class are incredible! I could never have done it on my own. Brad is so knowledgeable and no matter how many times I mess up he is always helpful. We plan to keep coming here for years to come!

We took our Penny (Goldendoodle) here for Puppy Socialization Class and are ecstatic with the results. We watched hours of YouTube videos on how to train your puppy but found many videos only marginally helpful. Most of the 15 minute videos were 13 minutes of salesmanship and marketing (chewy.com) and 1-2 minutes of actual instruction. The instructors at San Lorenzo Dog Training Club are great at teaching us how to be good teachers/parents to our fur babies. They show you all of the nuances on when to use treat training and when to discourage unwanted behaviors. They demonstrate the exact location of where to place the treats for commands like "Watch Me", "Heel", and "Sit/Stay". They remind you that "cute" behaviors when they are young and small can lead to unwanted behaviors when they're larger and harder to restrain. Denise, Vicky, Mike, and the rest of the staff are pleasant and extremely patient with us. I'd strongly recommend for anyone with a new puppy. Our little Penny is so much more behaved and lovable now. We look forward to the Beginner's (next level) Class. Thanks Denise, Vicky, and Mike!

This group was very helpful. I have tried other dog training programs. They had enough experience to show me what i was doing wrong. Totally worth it.

I like that the facility is fully matted so dogs have traction. However on warm days, room gets really warm. And there is not a lot of cross ventilation, even with box fans going. As far as I know, they don't have air conditioning. At least on the night that I go, they don't get there early enough to air out the room and make it cooler for all the people and dogs running around.

Great service! Good value for the money, too.
