I talked to salesman, Ivan. We were at another dealership looking for a car for our son. Ivan gave us an out the door price and we headed over to San Leandro. Ivan was friendly, took us for a test drive, gave us all details of the car and then had us get insurance and an increase on debit card. All this took 3 hours and then he changed the price!! He said that he was wrong in what he said and apologized. Needless to say, we were very upset and left. He thought that we put in a lot time so we would just pay more than he quoted us. We did not. We left and he wasted a lot of our time. Management supported his dishonesty. We went down the street to Ford, ask for Ilya, and bought a Mazda at a better price and it took far less time. This dealership and Ivan are predatory salesmen. Go where you will be respected.

If you are interested in a Mazda, do yourself a favor and head over to San Leandro Mazda. Ever staff member that touched us - Ray (sales), Ivan (sales), Milton (sales manager) and Arta (finance director) - gave us A+ service. Easygoing, chill, no-pressure environment to shop for a car. Everyone is super knowledgeable and ready to answer any and all questions (even my dumb ones). The dealership sells at MSRP - no price gauging - and negotiates in good faith (no hidden fees for stuff you don't want). The team has genuine camaraderie - they like each other - and it shows. The showroom is clean and spacious, bathrooms, coffee, and snacks included. Thanks again for a wonderful experience; love my new car!

Due to recent car issues, I found myself looking for another car. It was unexpected and made me anxious. After reviewing data from multiple sources I determined I wanted to purchase a Mazda CX-5; after that I needed to find a trustworthy dealer. I ended up driving 45 minutes from my home to San Leandro Mazda due to their reviews, current inventory and after having a nice conversation on the phone regarding questions I had regarding a vehicle I saw on line. The person who answered the phone not only validated that the car I was interested in was still in their inventory on the computer, but went the extra step and physically went outside on the lot to check to make sure the car was still there. I feel bad that I don't remember his name and he gave it to me twice. The retail salesperson that assisted me with the test drive, questions and purchase was Mr. Ray Abad. He was knowledgeable, friendly and made the whole experience low stress and enjoyable for me. He even assisted me with setting up my iPhone with ApplePlay before I left. They gave me a fair deal on my trade-in. While at the dealership I found the whole staff to be attentive and friendly. Before I left with my vehicle, I was even introduced to the service department staff.I am so pleased with the purchase of my Mazda, CX-5. Consumer reports recommended this vehicle and Yelp and other reviews supported the staff here on site at San Leandro Mazda. The car was clean and a great value for what I paid. If I had one complaint, and it would be minor was that the car was given to me low on gas. I traded in my vehicle with a full tank and by the time I got home, I did need gas in this vehicle.I definitely plan on returning there for service even though it's quite a drive because I trust them. Give them a chance you'll have a good experience.

I came here to get our CX5 serviced. My Service Advisor was Alex. He was excellent and provided phenomenal white glove service. He did a walkthrough and a video prior to service, and also during service with recommendations. I didn't even know my wipers were damaged and so I got them replaced here. They even gave me a complimentary wash for my CX5. Amazing!! This San Leandro location is huge. Love the modern ambiance, very clean, huge space and roomy with plenty of areas to sit and wait for your vehicle. There are several areas with tables where you wait and work too. It was also very nice that all of the team members in this dealership were super friendly. I managed to sit inside the driver seat of their new Miata at their showroom. Looking forward to getting our CX5 serviced here, and if you're looking for your next Mazda, I highly recommend you come here. They have excellent service. Cheers!

If you are a single woman please be cautious when getting your Mazda serviced here. There are no women that work here, and every single guy in the service department is rude, condescending, and dishonest with the exception of Alex. PLEASE request Alex if you are coming alone as a woman. If you can't get Alex, have a guy come with you so that you're not talked down to like a toddler by all the other guys in the service department. Actually, if you come with a guy they'll probably talk to him and totally ignore you. Anyways, the rest of this review is for Alex and the mechanics specifically. Alex is very friendly and actually has decent customer service skills, he makes you feel like you're not a burden for being there. I brought my CX-5 in for an oil change and the 40k mile service and it only took them about an hour and a half and everything was great. The waiting room is very clean and quiet and they have complimentary snacks and cold waters available.When my car was done, he took the time to walk over to the waiting room and tell me in person. They topped off all the fluids and even washed my car for me too which is great. They are also nice enough to send you videos of when they do the inspection of your car and explain things in simple terms. Overall, I'd say 5/5 stars for the mechanics and Alex in the service department and 0/5 starts for the rest of the customer service and sales reps. (The sales department is a whole other issue.)Anyways, final warning for the ladies, please please please either request Alex or bring a man with you so that you actually get decent service.

I had an amazing experience at Mazda, all thanks to Ray! From the moment I walked in, he was attentive and really listened to my needs. Ray's extensive knowledge about the vehicles and the car-buying process was impressive. He went above and beyond to help me find the perfect car and made sure I got the right payment that fit my budget. He even helped me with my trade-in, making the process seamless.What impressed me the most about Ray was how patient he was throughout the entire process. He took the time to show us different cars and features multiple times, ensuring that we fully understood our options and made the right choice.His friendly and personable approach made the whole car-buying journey enjoyable. I also want to express my gratitude for how Ray went out of his way to help my daughter buy her first car. He patiently guided her through the process and made sure she got a safe and reliable vehicle that matched her needs.The dealership itself was outstanding. It was clean, well-organized, and had a wide variety of cars to choose from, making the selection process easy and enjoyable.One thing that really stood out was Ray's consideration of my needs. The loan officer was also incredibly helpful and made the financing process hassle-free. And, a big thanks to Hamdi for taking a great picture of me with my new "midlife crisis car" - you made it a memorable moment!If you're looking for a fantastic car-buying experience with exceptional customer service, I highly recommend visiting Mazda and asking for Ray. I was a customer here for about 2 years before I recently stopped patronizing. My last service in 9/2022 ,it was suggested to replace all my brake pads. I thought this was a bit odd as I just had my front brakes replaced about 20k miles ago. They advised that measurements for the pads were about 3-4mm remaining, both front and rear. I declined and said I would be back. I secured a second opinion about a month later and was told front were about 6mm and rear were about 5mm. I went to a different facility for my next oil change, now about 3 months after my last visit to mazda, and they advised brakes were now 4mm all around. So now about 5-6 months after , and now at a different facility, I was told they were 3mm in front and 4 mm in the rear, I finally got them replaced and the mechanic showed me the old ones to prove their measurements.San Leandro Mazda provided incorrect measurements on the brake pads to attempt to make me pay for service well before it was needed.Additionally they charge 3.5% for the use of a credit card. Apparently this is charged to them for the swipe. I always assumed this was cost of doing business as it can be a tax write off, right? So they are not necessarily being charged 3.5% for the transaction if they later write it off. This nickel and dimeing along with false information has ended my relationship here.
