This is my main grocery store since I moved here. The store is clean and well stocked. The employees are always kind and willing to help if you can't find something. The deli department has great sandwich meat and the bakery has some seriously delicious looking cakes and breads. Their Italian bread is our favorite. The only cake I've tried is the tres leches and it was awesome. There are a lot of self check outs so the regular check out lines don't usually get too long.

there was a long hair inside my chicken wrap! disgusting. every time i've gone here the employees in the deli always have the biggest attitude. hair in food is disgusting and unacceptable.

Whoever that night "manager" or whatever she is that works here is the rudest employee I've ever encountered . I ordered Safeway grab and go and after waiting 10 min no one ever showed up . I went inside to try and figure out what was happening . This lady dressed in all black with a shoulder tattoo and NO NAME TaG tried to help me by looking through my phone and figuring out what was happening , I guess I ordered to the wrong store. I tried to ask what happens now and she just laughed and shrugged her shoulders . This made me upset . I couldn't believe this was the "manager" response . I just walked away and she started laughing telling someone else "they ordered from the wrong store and they're mad at me?" ... NO i was NOT mad that I ordered from the wrong store I was mad that your reaction and solution was to laugh and tell me to figure it out . I actually worked for Safeway when I was 16 I couldn't believe this is how low customer service has gone . I usually shop at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's and Lucky . This store is close to my work and sometimes (like today) I'm tired and lazy so order online for pick up because I just want to get home. NEVER AGAIN . Whoever that lady is looks like she works at produce or dairy and maybe is the night manager but damn that was the most annoying person ever . Feel sorry for whoever needs to deal with this lady's nasty attitude .

I ordered shrimps online to be pick up at this store. The shrimp is buy one get one free and totaling $34.35 when I got to the store my total went up to $121.24. I asked the clerk why my total went up so high. She told me they didn't have the items I ordered so they substituted the items. The store clerk told me to call the online number a guy name Emanuel answered the phone and he said he can't do anything, he can only cancel the transaction, and he will not give me the product for $34.35. It was my first time ordering online, their website does not give you an alert that they don't have the product or doesn't give you an alert if you want substitute. Whatever you order it will go through even the products are not available. They will substitute your items and you will find out the actual total amount when you pick up your order or when transaction completed. Very bad experience I don't trust them. I will never order online again.

I went to customer service and a manager named Judy was there she looked right at me and as I was saying something she put her finger up cut me off and answered the phone and then ignored me. I waited but she continued to talk on the phone and didn't even say hello to me or hold on a moment or anything just shut me up by putting up her finger. Very rude customer service. Very disappointed with the attitude given to me.

Clean inside, preffered when bagels and bread were packaged and sealed. Seen flies a couple of times on the exposed bagels, and some fly out of the loaf of french bread. Everything else as far as deli and checking is good.

Good selection of food in the deli and bakery. Shelves always stocked. Service can be better and a bit more friendly. Today. tried ordering a chicken dinner, sandwich, and sides on line thru Door Dash Safeway Deli. Placed me order and never received a confirmation.. so I had to cancel the order. I called the store. The first lady to answer was very nice (in the bakery, I pressed 2 by accident)..and transferred me to the deli and another nice lady answered and explained what the mix up was. Apparently, one of their DD order systems was taken out and the one left was not making a sound like it should be. Anyway. The reason for the 2 stars is that they do not have enough checkers (ever.. any time of day) and the deli always seems a bit understaffed on Saturdays. You'd think with all the money they're saving by having people do their own check-out, they'd bring more people in to help. Oh, and on the rare occasion, if I do my own check-out, I never receive the employee discount! (I deserve the employee discount since I'm working!)

Racist checker at Safeway at 699 Lewelling Blvd. San Leandro CA. Please any Latins beware of Morgan or Megan she tried asking my Daughter in law for an ID after my Son who is 21 already gave his ID to buy alcohol. My Son is Latin but looks white and his fiancé is Latin and looks very beautiful and Latina. Morgan or Megan then took it a little further and wouldn't let her use our club card because she didn't have an ID when this checker asked her for an ID to use the club card wtf . I have never been asked to provide an ID to use my club card or when someone else is buying alcohol and not me be carded for that alcohol as she carded her also for that too and my Son was like "I gave you my legal ID to purchase it, it's my alcohol not hers" ! This has to stop that girl is a straight racist. We watched in the distance after we paid for our groceries and wasn't able to save by using our club card and she did not ask any other customers for an ID 3 customers later! I had a bad anxiety attack as I'm walking out the store from being totally embarrassed and PTSD was so high I felt dizzy. People were just staring at us in disbelief. One lady actually came up and said I'm so sorry you had to go through that to my Sons fiancé and to us. She also said that checker was being rude and racist and should not be able to work there. That what she did is illegal and I should get a lawyer. I put in a complaint at corporate about this incident. If this is not addressed we will be seeking legal counsel.

I was very disappointed in my grocery delivery. First my delivery window was 12-1 . They said they would let me know when on their way. One pm rolled around no call no food. At 1:30 I emailed to ask. No reply. Finally the driver got here and he was very polite. Best part of whole experience. They totally forgot all my frozen items. But listed as received. I called to report what was missing and that they charged me twice for an item. I finally made it clear what was missing. For a correct refund as they emailed me wanting to only refund overcharge and my delivery fee. I tried to go back in and reorder the 6-7 items they forgot and it gave me a error message to try again later. I am through, this is not new (delivery) to Safeway they have been doing it a while. Not recommending it to anyone. I am disabled and struggle going to the store. I get a refund in 3-5 days and still no food. Sad... I will not go back. One huge nightmare!

I placed an order through the Safeway App and the inventory count has been inaccurate at the 3 other locations that I tried, so this time I decided to call and check, even though the App said this location had stock for the Teavana Green Tea Sparkling Peach Nectarine drink. Mia assisted me over the phone and checked if there was any stock and of course the app was incorrect again and there was no stock at this Safeway location. However, when there wasn't inventory for what I wanted, Mia checked for an alternative flavor for what I wanted. Mia's customer service was above and beyond and this 5 star review is for her, thank you so much! Whoever is doing inventory for the app and each Safeway location, please get it together

Don't bother ordering groceries for pick up. They are always out of stock of items and take FOREVER to bring groceries out (sometimes as long as 30 minutes). It's also difficult to find parking in the Drive Up & Go spots as they seem to always be taken by people going inside the store to shop.

UNBELIEVABLE!! Saturday morning at 10 am and not one regular register open for the store. This store is so understaffed and mismanaged it is becoming more of a liability than a convenience.

In Alcohol area white woman cashier is racism as hell. You gotta check your DAMN attitude b***** if you don't want to work here you don't f****** have to f*** you. If you're not WHITE People when you but the damn alcohol you gotta to take your mask off to buy it, if you don't you're not eligible to buy the damn alcohol even you're older 18... cuz that one white woman said " your ID did not match your face" ridiculous and fuckin racism
