Deli is supposed to open at 5 whenever I come in they never open until 9 which is 4 hours after the supposed opening time I went in 3 times trying to get a sandwich at 8am last week they were still closed and this morning at 8 as well and wasn’t able to get lunch.

Visiting the Bay Area and as a customer of other Safeway store siblings I was excited to check this store out. Very clean, and well stocked. I was surprised by the amount of Boars Head selection of deli meats here.

The location is convenient for me but it's hard to like this place with so many problems. I'm often unable to find a cart or basket in the front of this store and it's nearly impossible to enter/exit without someone (usually sketchy) outside trying to hit you up for money. They also recently installed a bunch of security gates but then stopped using them, but of course the cost is being passed along to customers. There are guards but they stand around playing on their phones while the employees at the self checkout just joke around and ignore everything. The final straw for me was a recent purchase of some butter that upon opening I discovered was moldy (I didn't even know butter could get moldy...) and then I realized that it had expired over 3 months ago. I alerted the manager and she admitted that they had a bunch of expired butter on the shelf that had to be pulled after my complaint.

Terrible customer service... people walk past you and don't ask if you need help.. I couldn't get anyone to help with western union at customer service.. manager radioed someone next to me but when we paged them no one responded. And of course there will be a sob sad response and apology from someone to this as if they care.

I had another bad experience at this Safeway. On Christmas day it was posted that the store was open until 5 PM. The security stopped letting people in around four and many people formed outside to come in after that and they were treated very poorly plus the store had nothing stocked, it's a dangerous spot if you ask me

Safeway is expensive. Get the app. It will save you so much money. Be sure to check out the 'rewards' section before every purchase! My last grocery visit i noticed a new sale incentive on the meat. A concept similar to Lucky's 5 for $25. Safeway has 4 for $19.99 (specially marked items). I look forward to the new deals. I highly recommend their deli. They have delicious sandwiches and pasta salads. Their chicken strips are also huge. Side note: My favorite chicken from the deli is salt & vinegar. If you don't want to cook during the holidays they do offer pre made meals at what I consider a reasonable price. This location does have a Starbucks. Unfortunately they close early. Around 5 or 6pm. They share a lot with other businesses so parking can be hit or miss. I find evening parking on Friday's and Saturday's to be the most challenging.

On Thursday, December 14th, 2023, at around 7:30 am, I visited the Starbucks located inside Safeway at 1499 Washington Ave, San Leandro, CA 94577.During my visit, I encountered some difficulties with the Starbucks worker who took my order. It seemed that she was having trouble processing my payment, while she had no issues with other customers. This was not the first time I experienced this problem with her. The first time, the manager had to assist her in completing my transaction. Unfortunately, the same issue occurred again a few weeks later. Despite multiple attempts to swipe my card, the worker falsely claimed that my card had zero funds, even though I had confirmed the balance before entering the store. Frustrated, I decided to recheck my card's balance and allowed several people to go ahead of me in line. To my dismay, the funds were indeed available.At this point, an assistant manager, whom I had never seen before, approached me. I explained the situation to her and requested the male manager to handle my transaction, as he had successfully helped in the past. However, the assistant manager seemed to have trouble understanding my concerns, indicating a lack of proficiency in basic English and her job responsibilities. As time passed, I continued to wait for my order to be processed, even after allowing others to go ahead of me. Finally, the Starbucks manager arrived, accompanied by a new worker starting her shift. The worker who had trouble taking my payment then loudly instructed her coworker to assist me, as if I were causing trouble. It was evident that she lacked patience and had lied about the availability of funds on my card. It was not until the competent manager stepped in at around 7:55 am that my payment was successfully processed, and he kindly made my drink.The unpleasant experience with the Starbucks worker, who displayed impatience and yelled at her coworker in front of me and other customers, has left me feeling unsafe with her handling my drinks. This is not the first time I have encountered issues at this Safeway/Starbucks location, and it seems that the overall quality of service has significantly declined. Additionally, I have noticed that I am being charged extra for the same size and drink I order every morning. If there has been a price increase overnight, I apologize for any misunderstandings. However, if this is not the case, it appears that I have been overcharged.As a loyal customer who visits daily, I expect better work ethics and behavior from the Starbucks staff.

I found it to be a really good grocery store for the items I needed, including salt-free chips and Chobani oat milk. Their produce section is pretty large, lots of different things, although the prices can be a little high-but that’s everywhere. Lots of variety storewide. I need to try the deli because everything looked really good. The only issue I would bring up is that sometimes the checkout line can be pretty long. This trip, the lines weren’t too bad. This last visit was great. The checkout cashier in the middle section (alcohol and other items area) was super friendly and helpful with me and at least one other customer that I saw. She tipped my review from 4 to 5 stars. This is definitely my go-to store out of all the locations.

The store manager at Safeway made the decision to switch the Starbucks manager to another location, which seemed to have a negative impact on the overall customer service quality.However, during the time when the Starbucks manager was still there, I was impressed by their exceptional customer service skills. They always went above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction, even when certain products like vanilla cream or cold brew were temporarily unavailable. They would gladly make the products themselves to make customers happy.Unfortunately, since the Starbucks manager was transferred, I've noticed a decline in customer service and product availability. On multiple occasions, I've visited this location only to find that they are out of cold brew, vanilla cream, or other Starbucks products. It's disappointing because I know these items can be made, but it seems like the current staff is either unwilling or unable to do so. It's crucial for them to fulfill their responsibilities and ensure products are prepared in advance.Furthermore, I've experienced issues with the quality of the cups and lids used at this location. On one occasion, a poorly designed lid resulted in hot coffee spilling all over my shirt, causing frustration and inconvenience.Overall, while I had initially enjoyed the service provided by the Starbucks manager, the recent decline in customer service and product availability has left me disappointed. I hope that Starbucks can address these issues and improve the overall experience at this location.I would rate this Starbucks a 0 out of 5 stars, based on my recent experiences."

This isn't that good of a Safeway. With security as tight as it is, there's one way to get in, which is to the left of the store. We had to duck in for some things for the week on a Sunday evening, but there was only one person working the register. It took forever, and there was a lot of shady activity when we were waiting to get through. Don't bother.
