I've been shopping here for years, always loved the staff. Main downside is, so many people shop here, a lot of the items I normally get are hit or miss about being in stock. But, I love that there's more variety than my old stores. What made me write a review today was, I was waiting for an employee to unlock a cart's wheels when they asked if I would prefer a powered wheelchair cart (I walk with a cane). I haven't seen a wheelchair cart in grocery stores in so long, I thought stores just stopped carrying them! It was so nice to have one offered to me.

Dodgy store.
I went to buy flowers with price tag of $ 34.99
It had a discounted tag on it for $16.99 so i took it.
The cashier removed the tag stating its been added by mistake and was charging me the full amount.
I asked the tag is there on all the flowers of this type and she stuck to it.
I asked her to call the manager and then they gave me the flowers for discounted price only.
They did an incorrect billing for another customer infront of me so pls take time to check and verify the bill before you buy anything from them.

The woman working in self checkout was very rude, inconsiderate and unprofessional. Either they've taken self checkout to another level or people have really become bots. Farrari is her name, which I got up on me leaving upset. They receipt paper fell out of the machine. As I approached her her head was down in a phone, while she conveniently started up a conversation with another employee. I said, excuse me she ignored and I continued on... She then said she knows, but still at there and that she's talking so it has to wait. Wow never in my life experiences such low level customer service.

I usually go to this safeway but after today I won’t go back. Store is clean but the manager there is so loud being and super RUDE to her team she is very demanding she asks the cashiers to leave what they’re doing to go do something else.
I see everyone working hard but her no employee should be treated that way!!

Absolutely positively the worst Safeway I've been in in my entire life. Everything that was on sale was missing off the shelves, the meat guy tall big guy was rude as all get out, the cashier i v e y needs an attitude adjustment like no tomorrow! Just horrible. Never coming back

It's a really good grocery store. The best in san leandro but they never have enough cashiers and their prices are pretty astronomical. Everyone who works there is always pleasant and helpful. The arby sauce in the sauce aisle is EXTREMELY past the sell by date and I know it's because they just aren't staffed enough to be checking dates like they need to. I will be back as i always am. Would give 5☆s but they need to hire more staff and lower their prices just a tad.

What has come to my attention at Safeway is prices are not consistent with prices listed on shelves. This has happened to me several times. Buyer beware, check prices on receipts against prices on shelves, does not always match. I do like Safeway, however, extremely high prices. Went there yestetday. A package of chicken breast 28 dollars easy, not so easy for average working person.

Deli is supposed to open at 5 whenever I come in they never open until 9 which is 4 hours after the supposed opening time I went in 3 times trying to get a sandwich at 8am last week they were still closed and this morning at 8 as well and wasn’t able to get lunch.
