We recently had Shoji window coverings for our living room and bedroom windows installed. It was a challenging install. Tim and I discussed the options for about 2hrs when he came to estimate the job. He really was able to focus on our needs, asked the right questions and came up with solutions that we had not considered. They came out beautifully and really accents the Asin-Japanese look my wife and I were looking for. He matched the wood (Ceder) as close as is possible to match existing doors in the house. The craftsmanship is exceptional and the attention to detail is clearly displayed in the entire install. They have added elegance and value to our home. We look forward to enjoying them for many years to come.

We had 3 doors installed by Pacific Shoji recently (in addition to 3 other doors we had done years ago by predecessor Hana Shoji). I can't say enough about how thrilled we are with the results. Tim is an amazing craftsman - he does beautiful work and is quite a perfectionist. He is easy to work with and made several great suggestions on how to deal with our specific situation. His prices are extremely reasonable for the very specialized and custom work that he does. Thank you Tim!

My contemporary flat was rather sterile, characterless, and simply plain boring; consequently, reflecting back to my childhood I thought shojis. Tim looked at the space and worked with me as he sought to understand what I wanted to achieve. He measured and analyzed the spaces asking how I use and move about the areas and came up with the solutions that were adaptive -- and attractive; as well as distinctive but yet cohesive (design-wise) between the two floors. I highly recommend Tim at PSW for his expert craftsmanship and honesty.

I have nothing but good things to say about Tim, the owner, who also creates and installs the doors. He did an excellent job on our door (a room divider), and it has been a pleasure to work with him. He is very helpful, highly professional, and punctual. We are very pleased with the outcome and the process.

Tom is a true craftsman from the old tradition of wood working. He worked on our shoji screens back in 2014 and every time I open our screens I send up a little prayer for him. He went way beyond the call of duty in fixing some really old screens from another provider, since retired. Tom was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. But most of all, he diagnosed a difficult issue and fixed it. He sets the example of how a small business owner should act in providing excellent customer service. So, Tom, very sorry it took so long to provide feedback.

I highly recommend Pacific Shoji Works. Here's why: We had custom shoji screen doors designed, built and installed by a company that has since gone out of business. We needed help repairing the shoji panels, as they were no longer sliding well in their track (or sliding at all, in the case of one panel). Also, when closed, the two center shoji panels didn't touch evenly; there was a gap. Tim from Pacific Shoji Works analyzed the situation and made the necessary repairs--which isn't easy when you're dealing with a custom job that someone else built. Tim was on time, personable, and thorough, and the fee was reasonable. The only problem you might encounter is that Pacific Shoji Works is very much in demand (which tells you they're good).

Tim just sent us pictures of our closet doors. THEY ARE PERFECT. One for a 2 door closet and a 3 door closet. My husband and I came up with the general design. Tim took the design to the next level. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THEM INSTALLED.... Tim is very easy to work with,. His prices are extremely reasonable. Tim's workmanship is beyond words. I would definitely contact him again for other work.

PACIFIC SHOJI WORKS - MASTER Tim Roberts. All the way from NY, as far East as it gets...I had my Shoji doors crafted by Tim Roberts. I hadn't been to the store or seen his work in person. When I saw his work on the website and then talked to him via the phone, I was confident in his ability to make the perfect pass-thru doors for me. I was not only delighted with his fantastic customer service, I was blown away by his craftsmanship in making my Shoji door vision a reality. Without any hesitation at all, I recommend and applaud Pacific Shoji Works and Tim Roberts. Thank you Tim!

Pacific Shoji Works was great. We need some repairs on our extremely large shojis and Tim came and saved the day. His pricing was very reasonable and his service was great. The shojis came back as good as new. Tim was very knowledgable and helpful as well. Would recommend him, hands down.

We had very nice custom Shoji's through out our last home in Southern Ca, I've spent a lot of time in Japan where I developed a great appreciation for the look and functionality of Shoji. Having just moved to the East Bay we wanted to do our entire house here with Shoji as well. We shopped around on line here in the Bay Area and spoke to a few Shoji makers, some more than once, After talking with Tim at Pacific Shoji works, I sent him some pictures of the interior of our home and we discussed ideas and options, I liked the way Tim worked with us and I felt the estimate he provided was quite reasonable compared to others. Tim came to our home and did the final walk through and gave a projected date of completion which was 4 to 6 weeks away which, based upon our previous experience having custom work done ,was right in line with others time frame's. Tim finished the Shoji's early, within the estimate, and even did a couple extra things we liked. The workmanship was excellent and we really liked working with Tim...now I have one or two other windows I want done..I'll definitely use Tim again !! Highly recomended!!

Tim just installed shoji windows in our atrium, and we are really happy about the work he did. The craftsmanship is the first class, and we cannot complain anything. The work turned out to be beyond our expectation and very artistic. If you are looking for quality Japanese wood work, I recommend Pacific Shoji Works without any reservation.

Tim at Pacific Shoji Works just recently refinished and reinstalled my shoji panels after I had some water damage. I had originally had 4 panels custom made for a closet and then 3 panels made for a tatami room. The refinishing of the panels and the reinstall of the entire tatami room was done to my specifications and turned out beautiful, it looks better today than it did upon the first installation. Tim was very professional and timely in completing the work. I had a few issues after the re-install was complete and Tim made sure to address those issues in a manner that made me feel he was sincerely concerned that I was absolutely satisfied with the final results. I would highly recommend Tim's work for quality as well as his excellent customer service.

News flash! Pacific Shoji Works is the continuation of Hana Shoji under the new management and owner Tim Roberts. Apparently Glen the former owner of Hana Shoji is retiring and handing the keys to the shop to master craftsman builder Tim. See my review on Hana Shoji.
