I'm working on a kitchen remodel and needed a few sheets of walnut plywood and 4/4 lumber for a cabinet. After exchanging a few emails with Jack, I visited their showroom and he offered to give me a tour of their warehouse. They have huge selection of hardwood plywood (best I've found in the east bay) and both rough and surfaced lumber.I picked out the sheets I wanted and they showed up the following afternoon. For someone without a lumber rack, free next-day delivery is an absolute life saver.It would be nice if they could display prices on the labels in the warehouse but that might not be feasible due to the fluctuation in pricing.

Nice people nice to work with them went to school with David works there they have very nice quality wood and the plywood is outstanding and they have stuff that nobody else does

I was told inventory on a product was over 100 pieces. Drove for an hour to find out they didn’t have any in stock…. Made me waste time and gas… ?

Good place unloaded soon as I got here took about 30 mins check in from Williams Street .Dock entrance is on Doolittle Dr otherwise problem for backing in

This is a great company, in an industry not known for great companies.I received amazing service from start to finish. Sales Manager Jack Moore was incredibly helpful in accommodating my board size requirements, milling requirements & budget. He communicated promptly, professionally & precisely at every step. There were 0 surprises.I was mildly nervous about deferring to Moore Newton to pick the lumber, but emboldened by learning that they have a 25-year employee who specializes in picking. He did a beautiful job, the lumber (Alaskan cedar & sapele) is gorgeous.Free delivery to my garage, with unloading assistance from Adam the driver (not to be confused with Adam Driver), provided an ultra smooth finish to the transaction (not to be confused with wood finish Ok that joke is over.)Thank you Moore Newton, looking forward to many more purchases.

The white, oak ash, walnut, and hard maple I buy here is constantly high quality and not under size like I have been finding in Berkeley lately. They have the best prices around.

I can't say enough good things about Moore Newton Quality Hardwoods. Excellent customer service!!! Amazing selection! Great quality! Decent prices (wood is expensive). Each one of the staff I dealt with was extremely friendly and helpful!I was looking for some pre-finished plywood for a cabinet I'm building. They let me browse around the warehouse, and Omar (one of the awesome forklift drivers) pulled down various different stacks so I could look at them. He explained what the various types of finishes and cores were. After going back and forth with my client about what she wanted, I selected sheet and some 1x6 stock, which Omar loaded into my truck (and let me go through the stack of ply to find the best sheet).Once inside, and they rang me up, I realized that I had picked a very $$$ sheet due to the type of core it had (and I had looked at so many I'd mixed them up). No problem, they had a lower quality core that would be fine for my needs, refunded the difference, and had a forklift operator bring out the old stack, take the sheet, and then subsequently brought out the new stack, that we then went through to find a nice looking sheet. Loaded into my truck, and away I went.They went out of their way to ensure I had what I needed and was happy with what I was getting!

I usually go to MacBeath, but they were low on Peruvian walnut so I decided to try these guys. They seemed to have good volume on most domestic hardwoods. And good prices. Quality was also very good- surfacing at least as good as MacBeath. Only a couple downsides. One is that lengths seem to be mostly in the 6-10' range. They only had the Peruvian walnut in 6' lengths which is a bummer cause it's more waste (or more joints.) MacBeath has it in 10-12'. The other issue is that most of their hardwood is inaccessible without a forklift and it took like 15 minutes to find the walnut and then get it out of the stack it was in. So it's a bit more of a hassle, especially if you want to grab a few pieces of a few different types of wood. But I will definitely be back when I'm buying in larger volume and when the shorter lengths and widths work for the project. Also they don't seem to carry as much 10-12" widths but they did look to have some 1/2" thickness which MacBeath doesn't carry.

Love this place. The warehouse is extremely organized and they have the best selection of plywood and lumber in the Bay Area. Everyone that works there is friendly and helpful.

I bought Baltic Birch drawer blanks in two different sizes and fell in love with the product. When I wanted more, I learned that they don't ship. I'd be a return customer if they did. Fortunately, a local hardwood dealer stocks them and my needs were met. Too bad too, I bought padauk as well today.
