I visited this church for the first time and everyone was so nice and friendly. Before service began, someone had already signaled for me to go sit with them. I did decline but ended up moving to sit closer to the front.
Loved the praise and worship! It was a Friday night service. Spirit-filled church. I live in Virginia but I would visit again if I am back in the bay.

I visited this church last Sunday for the first time. I’m so grateful for all the ministry staff there. I can tell you they all love Jesus! It was so raw and real. The man leading worship was in total tears, same with the pastor. And I felt so free to release some things to God in worship. It was very liberating because I’ve been going through so much with leaving my church of 11 years and trying to get back to the place of burning again.. Thank you Church for cultivating a place that is conducive for the anointing to flow and for the glow to fall!! I will return when I’m back in town again! May God bless you all so richly!!!

Encounter Church is just the place where you will find caring believers, who love the presence of God and love His word, too.Pastors Steven & Portia Sumner are passionate about seeing people saved, set free, and filled with the Holy Spirit. I have known these 2 for most of my adult life and cannot say enough about their abilities to pastor.This is our home away from home when we are in the Bay Area. If you are looking for the “real thing” in a church, look no further!
