I loved this branch, now they are closing this week. The nearest location is either Castro Valley, which isn't open on Saturday, or in Oakland Fruitvale district. Really disappointed

Martin Weng, the assistant branch manager is either incompetent or prejudice. My experience(6/30/16): I took my uncle to Citibank to cash his government issued Citibank check and was turned away. Why? "bc you don't have the letter to accompany the check and we can't verify it" "take it to your bank, have him sign it to you, and deposit it into your account" I remembered being told that banks no longer do third party checks. Get to my bank, was told they don't and that Citibank is able to verify a check issued from their bank. Go back to Citi to check a bitch, was offered more excuses. I go to a check cashing and she VERIFIES the check and cashes it in 5 minutes. Citibank corporate is about to hear a lot about my experience and the blatant profiling practices of their employees. Neither Martin or the teller, Apple, even once attempted to verify the check. The check never touched one of their verification machines, and we were never offered the option of opening a checking account. I filed a complaint against Martin for his grossly disrespectful and questionable practices. My suspicions were confirmed when I was informed that the services I received do not fit protocol. I plan to follow through on this complaint because his discretion was not appropriate for this matter. I had planned to get a Citibank card, for the early concert access, I'm happy I did not. Today was my first and last time entering this banking establishment.

This is the worst Bank I have ever done business with. No matter when you go in the line is long. They enough employees but only two windows open. There 5 of them at desks 3 are doing nothing, and two are surfing the net. I tried to put $400.00 cash into my sisters account and was asked for my California I.D. Social Security Card, where do I work? I'm retired and told them so . . . they what I used to do for a living? I said, what the hell is the problem here? they said they were scanning me for money laundering? Want to make sure I'm not a drug dealer. All this time people behind me are getting upset for having to wait so long, and thinking I'm the problem. NEVER WILL I ENTER OR DO BUSINESS WITH CITIBANK . . . . PISSED OFF IN SAN LEANDRO

Went in to open new personal and business accounts (switching from Wells Fargo) and received excellent service from David Policari and David Marchetti (sp?). These guys were both highly knowledgeable, competent and helpful in getting my wife and I everything we needed. Account fees are low or non-existent, they waived some set up costs and I received everything in the mail as promised. This is a small branch and all employees seem well trained and connected with each other and their customers. Highly recommended!!!

Switch and bait scammers! I opened an account here before moving out of the country for a few years, it seemed too good to be true a no fees account and no overseas ATM charge! The first time I used an over seas ATM I was hit with a large % fee! more than wellsfargo or other banks, so I kept my account as an Emergincy back up account. They had a little surprise for me, they changed my account from a no fee to a $10 a month service fee account. Once they drained my account this way (about 2,000.00)I had to add $ to avoid over draft fees. they wouldn't let me close my account over the phone because it was not active and they told me I had to come into a branch. When I finally made into a branch I was made to wait around for hours, and finally told they could only give me $30 back, I still couldn't close my account without forfeiting all my $, and I'd have to wait till they contacted me back. All the while having security guards looming over me and escorting me from area to area as I was passed around. An awful bank! I really wish I had looked up all the class action lawsuits against them (googled them) before they robbed me blind.

The location of this Citibank is nowhere near my home, and taking care of business (paying bills) here, I have Citibank envy. I did not want to stop in at the Citibank in town. The employees are okay, but I am not totally comfortable when they start pushing the balance transfer sales pitch. They do that because they're looking at my credit card statement and IMO I perceive a touch of somebody tryin' to get into my "kool aid", which is not cool at all. (Ooh leave me alone and let me just handle my business.) However, stepping into this bank, I just stood there in awe, admiring the beautiful interior...ornate woodworks from the banks of yesteryears - just totally historical looking and very classic in design. There are no window barriers blocking one's interaction with the bank tellers. It's state of the art (so stellar) for an old geezer like me. The teller assisting me did not push any type of sales pitch for balance transfers, but she did mention that the bank is situated in a historical landmark and thus, the interior design remains. She accepted my payment and that was it - done and outta there. Based on my observation, customer service was excellent. Apparently, there was something urgent involving another bank customer that needed special attention and the branch manager asked me if I could wait a bit longer (since I was the next person in line). I told him it was no big deal...it just gave me more time to admire the interior. Now I don't know how everybody else who was standing in line behind me felt. I guess it was okay with the other customers because I did not hear any drama. I have been to other branches of Citibank (Market Street [Fi-Di area] in SF, 13th & Broadway in Downtown Oakland, and Webster & Haight Streets in Alameda) and none of them has this traditional style from the past.

I actually like coming to Citibank all the time. It's actually one of my go to spots...when I get money get paid of course, or if I just come by to withdraw. I'm here at least 2-3 times a month. The pro's- I have fun talking with the tellers behind the desk about how their day is going since it doesn't feel like a transaction while going to deposit or withdraw. Citibank is as well located in a good spot where you are close to everything(public transportation, other banks, restaurants, barber shops, salons, bars, you name it...it maybe their). The downside - Only one parking area for the customers which is full most of the time because Wellsfargo is remodeling their parking lot, or people just park their to go to a restaurant. But it is still a win I guess in the long run since you see Citibank's back. Employees are usually changed here, or get a new face most of the times I visit, but hey that's life I can't stop it. Over all I just like to go here since it is a nice mannered area where the line goes by quickly in the inside, and at the only ATM they have in the outside. Ohh they added an ATM in the inside to so you know ha ha.

The closest branch of my bank to me, the next closest is in Hayward on 2nd street. I usually just use the ATM since I do all my banking online. The lines are generally short when you do go inside

Even though this place has only one ATM in the back parking lot.. the line tends to go pretty quick! Very impressed.. Never had to be inside, which is a good thing so its very pleasing! :)
