This is an updated review: my girls have always been braid girls. They wear their hair in braids 100% of them time but for special occasions they want their hair straight(silk press). Meling has come through for my girls numerous times over the year. When my oldest was taking senior pictures during Covid, Meling made sure she looked beautiful for her special day while taking numerous care to make sure she felt safe and comfortable during that scary time. When my youngest who's incredible 4C hair needed to be trained before taking her senior pictures, Meling worked wonders without damaging her hair and now with my daughter's going to her senior prom, Meling has manage to do her magic again and make her look amazing. Thank you Meling for being an essential presence throughout my daughters lives and making the special occasions ex.

MeLing has been doing my hair for almost 20 years and she does an excellent job each time I go there. I even moved to another state and when I come back which is several times during the year, I make sure I get my hair done with MeLing at Black Magic and I have never been disappointed.

FANTASTIC experience! Mei'Ling and Sarita are so kind and truly care about you and your hair! I decided to try a stylist who specializes in black natural hair because my hair was extremely dry and damaged, and I was struggling to care for it properly on my own. Mei'Ling asked questions, and we chatted about protective styles. She did a two strand twist and explained how she would help me get my hair to a healthier place.The product line she created (Medusa's Magic) has a divine aroma and feels amazing in my hair. I'm so excited for my next appointment!

Didn't get hair done but I did go in and the atmosphere was very welcoming and the owner was very nice and took her time to answer my questions even though her shop was closed and it was after hours. I thought that was really nice of her so I would recommend this place and give it 5 starts just because is the customer service.
