So back in the early 1990's, took my vehicle to the now closed W. MacArthur location, had my rotors checked, and the employee used a digital calibration tool told me I needed new rotors while scrolling the numbers as he was turning to show me. I understand that location has been closed a few short years. I'm glad. I haven't been to a big o for anything since. Looking at some overall reviews seems like big o tires would benefit the public closing down completely!

My faith in real customer service has been restored based on my recent visit to Big O in San Leandro.Started with catching a bolt in one of my rear tires while going to Costco. I rang the shop to check on wait times and Mario said about an hour.Long story short, I could see this independently owned shop was part of the community. Fellow customers were talking with staff and I ended up conversing too which made my time more enjoyable and the time seemed to pass a lot faster. BTW there was joking about green valve stem caps which I assumed had to do with those used at Costco but when logging in to leave this review, I saw a comment that explained it all.So the technician pulled out a 4” bolt, patched it and then they tried to send me on my happy but I was like what’s the charge to which I heard no charge sir. Talk about building a happy customer base. End of the day I wasn’t having any of this freebie and a tip for after shift beer money was passed along.Thanks again Mario and staff for making my day!

I bought a used car recently that had the power steering pump replaced at this location in August. I went to this location because it's where the car dealer told me to take it. I live in San Francisco, so this isn't a quick trip for me.I called on Tuesday and made an appointment for Friday at 10am. Traffic was unexpectedly light, so I got in early around 8:30 and told the receptionist that I had a 10am appointment. I was told to leave the car and they would get to it.I left for a couple hours and came back around 10:30ish and my car was still sitting in the spot where I dropped it off. I left again and came back after calling them at 2pm. I was told that my car was on the rack. I walked back to the shop and it was not on the rack and in fact STILL had not moved. The male receptionist tried to argue with me that I had dropped my car off at 12:30 and I told him that I have call logs from a call I made immediately after dropping off. Finally close to 3 it was put on the rack after I had to talk to reception again in which I asked what was the point of making an appointment if my car was not going to be worked on. I was told that they didn't have my appointment down and that they thought I was a walk in.I was then informed of what I already knew, which was that the power steering pump has failed. They didn't have the part and wouldn't be able to do the work today and I was given the option to come back tomorrow. I've already wasted an entire day off waiting the majority of their work day to be told that they can't work on my car today.The amount of stress and frustration dealing with this shop today has been inexcusable. I had to leave my car and take bart back into San Francisco and now I'm HOPING they will get this work done tomorrow so I'm not without my vehicle through the new year. There is no excuse whatsoever for this level of incompetence and failed customer service. I would NEVER recommend this location to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

I own a 30ft RV and always have a hard time finding any place to simply fill up tire air to proper levels. First, I called (and they answered). They said “No problem, come on in!” I arrived and despite they’re being super busy at the time, they took care of me without much of a wait at all (like maybe 10 mins?) I was stunned to discover the fill up was completely FREE of any labor charge. Their man did it within 15 minutes.Every person I came in contact with there was polite and in a good mood. That really says a lot especially under the pressure of being so busy. Don’t worry about that, you should go there because…those guys WILL take great care of you!

Best tires I've ever had on my 2010 Ford Focus. Great prices. Knowledgeable technicians. Quality tires. Fun to talk to staff & customers. But, really, green-colored tire stem caps??? Black. Black tire stem caps. Please!

I came in here without an appointment. My tire warning light came on... We discovered that I had a visible nail in my tire. Jesus reassured me that they would take care of it......while waiting for my tire to be repaired, Mario played tic tac toe with my daughter..... We will definitely be back the next time I need any services for my car. Thank You Guys for everything!!!!!

I have been going to Big O Tires since I purchased my first car. They have always treated me very well, and have great tires and other services. They are quick but efficient and know their stuff! A+++++++

First time using Big O Tires-San Leandro.Honestly Disappointed... : ( * I entered vin and checked stock for the 4 tires on Big O Tires website a week in advance and made an appointment with the shop. I received quote and confirmation email.* Arrived on time the day of reservation. When checking in with Associate A, I was told that the service will cost double the initially quoted amount with the purchase of 4 tires, alignment, warranty, disposal and labor. When I mentioned that the presented cost was double the originally quoted amount, I was asked to speak to another person (Associate B). * Associate B stated that the tires I quoted was not in stock and were discontinued. He mentioned that the Big O Tires' national website is unreliable when it comes to stock # or price, therefore I (as a customer) should have called the individual store beforehand. (I am not quite certain why the customer is responsible for checking individual shops for what is in stock, when the website stated so and sent confirmation quote? I would think that the shop should order them or check stock before the appointment as I entered all of the information a week in advance... Or at least call to tell me they do not have the quoted tire at the store, and see if I will accept alternate tires... Instead of telling me the day of?) * Associate B tried looking for tire in the same price range. He states they only carried some cheaper or more expensive at that time for the price range, size and tire grade. Associate B tried to provide me with options, but honestly, it felt like a bait and switch at this point, since my initial original quote was not honored.*Ended up requesting for replacement of 2 (more costly) tires, with rotation and balance only. Declined additional extra warranties. Waited in store for 1.5 hours.PSA: Future customers- If you were to go here, remember that the quote received via email or online may not be honored nor considered reliable. It will be customer's responsibility to call the store before appointment to ensure you are set. The presented quote does not include everything e.g. labor, disposal fee, sales tax, warranty, alignment, etc, only tires. Be sure to go over the details, as some services can be opted out such as extended warranties.
