I wish I could give this branch a -5 point. I’ve been in this branch a total of 4 times and each time it was a problem. But after this last mess up they did I will never ever return. The manager Momina Foss took me saying branches for b$$$$es and went dumb on me while I was on the phone with their customer service trying to get my $10 fee for cashing a bank of the west/BMO check. They refuse to cash their own check saying they’re not allowed to do so only deposit it into my account. And because of this I a bank if the west/BMO customer had to pay a $10 non customer fee just to cash my work check(which is from a bank of the west/BMO account) This branch lack customer service skill, and the way the manager was acting I’m surprised that branch hasn’t close with the merger of BMO.

I love Bank Of The West and this branch in particular. Always helpful and I've been with them for years. Hoping nothing changes when they switch over to BMO next month

I found the manager to be quite helpful. However, many of the cashier positions were rude and useless. It's a cheaply ran branch -- but, what can you expect from a second rank banking company?It's better than the local alternatives, sadly, but not by much.One star: Coffee was decent.One star: Manager did try and was much better trained than the others.

Zero stars. Assistant manager Momina B Foss is the most rudest manager ever. We have a corporate account and everytime she wastes my time and refuses to give change unless i do everything she asks for which makes no sense. I have been to union city, novato, san lorenzo and Concord with no issue. Someone needs to talk with her. After calling their 1800 number no one seems to help. Thank god i do not bank with them. I am happy with Chase and never experienced issues with them. This branch is going downhill, the previous manager was amazing.

There's not a low enough rating to select for this branch so I selected 1. The manager is very rude and insulting. I don't want to assume it was because of my race. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. But it's sort of difficult not too. He was so obnoxious and degrading that I left the bank crying trying to cash a check there.There's not enough space to tell the whole story. But I will say that he told me "Sorry, we don't have enough money to cash this check." I told him I had never heard of that. He said "First time for everything right" I said you are rude, is there someone above you. He said " I am the Manager, if you want complain about me go ahead , and handed me his card. Take it to your bank.This all happened within 3 minutes of me entering into the bank. I had sold my car to a dealership and Since the check had this branch location on it I thought it would be less hassle. I said well can you give me a cashiers check? He said I need to verify the check. Long story short he said he couldn't reach anybody at the dealership. I called the dealership and spoke directly to the general manager. They said they would wait for his call. When I told him this he waited 15 minutes while sitting at his desk looking at papers . After 15 more minutes, he still came back and said he couldn't reach anyone and gave me my check back. After this, a non African American customer walked in. He greeted the man with an elbow bump and walked him to a special area, while I stood there with my check and watched him walk away. I reported this incident to the corporate office and although I did appreciate the courtesy of the two people I spoke to, I'm not sure how they will handle the situation. His name is Bachar Balach.The general manager of the car dealership was very disappointed.He said "if he had been nice to you maybe you would have opened an account there" then he called him a name I dare not repeat.

Cashier are nice, but Supervisor is rude and very unprofessional with customers and inclusive with their own staff. Discrimination is very noticeable in this sucursal.

I have no problem with this branch when it's open. Unfortunately this, and a few other branches (Castro valley, Fruitvale), have been extremely spotty in their hours lately.

The worst. Jamal did not follow through on the simplest of tasks after I waited for him for about 45 minutes to open simple accounts. He then fumbled through the process for about an hour as if it were the first time he opened a customer account. I was there for almost two hours WITH an appointment. He never ordered the checks I requested, closed the three accounts he was to close, or even returned a damn call. Jamal is rude and unresponsive, but given the climate set by the branch manager, I'm not surprised in the least. She lacks accountability and literally lied to me about verifiable policy, per Jamal. Here's what I was looking for in a bank: ACCESS TO MY OWN DAMN MONEY. If you can't provide that, make your lies cohesive at least within the branch. I'm done with Bank of the West, but not my complaints.

Im really disappointed on the lack of professionalism this SAN LEANDRO BRANCH has, They tell you they have so many years of experience and will tell you everything you want to hear. They will have you sign paper after paper for overdraft fee protection and many other things so that later they can pretty much say oh no this paper was sign for this and not this. Finally the branch closes your account without notice with the excuse that the client was wrong and not them after they were the ones who clearly told you everything will be okay, to make things worse they decide to close my account a few days before Christmas (didn’t even have two months with this account) and when i told them i need my account to get my direct deposit in, i had no response from any manager until Jan 5

If you want to hate a bank, come to bank of the west. They will turn off your debt card every three months, you will get a new one in about 9 days, then it will only work when it wants to, until you go to the bank and hear them say there sorry. Last Saturday I bought a camera from best buy ($200.00) from personal acct, then bought, or tried to with business debit card. BTW crys fraud, turns off my business card for the 10th time. Went to bank, bitched again to branch manager, then both cards turned off. Got letter today from Bachar balach branch idiot that my accounts will be closed Jan 5th. To bad idiot already went to your competitor. Bank of the west is where crapy employees go to die

Why 1 star? The lack of service. The people at the window are nice and friendly enough but there are not enough of them. After doing business with them for several years , including a mortgage at one point we decided to close the account. Part of the issue was that there was no Visa or MC attached to the atm card which I also had issues with over time, but it was the phone support or rather lack there of that sealed their fate with me. You'll have to either trust me or try it yourself. I actually felt myself aging while on hold for so long that I gave up. Closed the account and continued to receive emails about the account which was supposed to be closed. There! I need to take a shower after a one star. I HATE doing it because you kind of put yourself out there by giving your take sometimes. But it is what it is! Good luck to all!
