So many items, and lots that are actually relevant to the mission / state / religion. You can enter the store without admission to the mission itself.

It was a historically interesting and visually pleasing. Definitely worth the visit. It was a beautiful day to walk around and enjoy the vegetations and flowers.

I know we all had to do a mandatory Mission trip/project back in elementary school but there's definitely a newfound appreciation for them when you get older. Mission San Juan Capistrano is probably one of the more awesome missions in that a significant amount of it is restored and preserved, and there's the bonus of swallows nesting in a part of the mission. But anyhow, it's got a rich history and plenty of pretty nature to enjoy. Admission isn't too expensive and you can find plenty to appreciate here. The chapel was probably the most Reverent and awe inspiring part of the mission for me. You'll almost experience a different world the moment you step inside. But otherwise, maybe I won't spoil the rest of the mission too much, just come and enjoy a piece of history in California!

One of my favorite missions in CA! The grounds are so well maintained and easily accessible. It's $18 for adults but that price does come with a free audio your which is very informative. We enjoyed just sitting in the gardens after seeing all the exhibits. I would avoid early morning and go later in the afternoon after most of the school field trip groups have departed. It's a very popular destination so it can get crowded during that time. We went mid week around 1pm and found it to be a great time to visit!

I accompanied a student on a field trip here almost a year ago and I had no clue what it would be like. It was incredible. I got the most beautiful pictures. Everything was so interesting and everyone there was so knowledgeable and cared deeply about the history. The bbq place across the street is to die for. I recommend this for anyone coming out of town. You can't skip it.

Always a nice visit. But, I'm confused, in order to light an intentional prayer candle, must I purchase $21.00 bundle of candles in the gift shop for that purpose? reference and signage in chapel. Or are single candles sold on site?

Love the gift items. Did you miss the return of the swallows? Remember the dates March 19 and Oct 23, see you there.

I love visiting Mission San Juan Capistrano. A few years ago we were guided and the tour guide showed us how to make bricks with mud and straw. I love the golden altar which was shipped in crates from Europe as a gift. It's lovely at the mission and the bookstore has many great gift items.

Beautiful place to spend an afternoon with the family. Plenty of great places to eat nearby as well.

Wow! Great time with my grandsons! Youngest one is studying the missions at school. We were awed by the beauty of the inside of the churches and found the outside ruins so interesting. Price of ticket includes a hand held narrating device.

came here for a special project. Twas a rainy day but a fun day to hang out with my daughter. Service: Love how they explained things to do inside the mission. It's a very wonderful experience. This was our second time coming to this mission. I love how they preserve things on this place. ps. the gift ahop is a must visit before going home.

I can't believe I've never reviewed the mission! We come here at least once a year if not more. We usually come midweek so a lot of the doors are closed but on weekends you get to see a lot more. The garden is really beautiful all through spring and summer. A lot less foliage in winter and there are a lot less fish (or at least this time there were only a few) and almost no water lily flowers. This place is really gorgeous for the architecture and for taking photos (but if you have as professional photographer you'll have to pay for a permit ahead of time). If you plan to visit multiple times a year you may want to consider the membership. Members also get to go to special events but those events sell out so fast we never got a chance to attend.

Disappointed! Bought several things from the gift shop. Out of the items we bought three hearts made of wood and they over scanned them and charged us for five. Didn't catch it till it was too late.

I'm into religious things and artifacts and I absolutely love this place. Lots of things to walk around and see also make sure you do the audio tour option that is included. The gift shop has lots of cool religious gift items that you won't find other places. Amazing place with hundreds of years of history and really tells the story of how much of the United States was built. Also good place to stop and see some prayers if you're in the area.

This has been on my list for over a decade. Finally did it My woman's group took the train from San Diego The tickets were easy to buy online The mission is beautiful and informative. The chapel is gorgeous and awe inspiring. Gift shop was nice and not over priced. The landscape is beautiful and the fountains are gorgeous. Definitely a must do for a day trip 10/10 recommend
