Store is always very clean and orderly. The employees are friendly. Nice that you can grab a freshly scooped ice cream cone as you pay for your stuff and head out the store!

Called to get covid test and pharmacist said they close at 6. I get there before 6 and run into the pharmacist. She is trying to leave and doesn't want to get me the kit because she is trying to leave. What a lazy uncaring woman. #@$!!

I only go there for the ice cream and miss the fact that you used to be able to get a triple scoop cone for less than a dollar.

IMHOMy hubby and I have come here for our Covid boosters and both times I have been very impressed by the brightness, the cleanliness and organization, and the layout of the store. The aisles are wide and open, and the shelves are easy to shop. (Unfortunately, the one item I'd love to find isn't available... Please RITE AID, stock Hexol cleaner! The Pharmacy Dept was friendly and efficient. Nice to know there is a clean drug store in the neighborhood!

Shout out to the gentleman working tonight [4/28/22 @ 7:50pm]. He single handedly ran the entire front- juggling the Thrifty ice cream department and took care of checkout @ the registers. Customer service was A1 and he was polite & apologetic for the wait. Extra bonus points because he didn't huff and puff about having to bounce back and forth- Lord knows I would have. Lmao. 5/5 stars for this particular employee [whom I did not catch his name]. Way to provide consistent, welcoming service. I guess I lucked out when my initial drive to the Rite Aid on McKee ended up being a waste of time due to it being completely closed. That mishap brought me here!! Ice cream tasted amazing and our cones were filled from the bottom up!! Cones were fresh and crisp, not stale tasting like McDonald's. Thank you for coming through for Babygirl's evening treat!!! I will absolutely be back!!!!!!

In regards to my last review. I was just informed what the clerk asked me to do was illegal. No clerk can ask a customer to open their purse to look inside. that is an invasion of privacy. I should have demanded to speak to the manager. I hope this clerk got fired! Yes, I am clearly upset still at her accusation and not even apologizing after she found she was wrong. the other clerks knew I came in often to the store to shop and not once did any of them come to my defense as if I would have shoplifted. Noted even then, there are cameras all through out the store. there has never been anything I would have ever wanted to buy at this store that would have been a major expense or even if I wanted to steal from this store. For me, it was always impulse buys where later I would ask myself, why did I buy this?!? Since then, I have saved some pocket change...great! I have never liked this store to be honest. I would not care if the store got bankrupt. As it appeared then, the store looked depressing with empty shelves and angry accusing gossip driven clerks. Gee, guess I do not miss it.

I love this place. I used to have Walgreens as my pharmacy but I would always have to wait 20 to 40 minutes all the time to get my medicine which was so annoying. So I switched to this rite aid and now I don't ever have to wait in line and I always get my medicine quick. The staff is always very nice and the store is always super clean.

This is based on a phone call to the store. I called asking if they had a specific diagnostic product in stock. A young woman put me on hold to go check. After 10 minutes on hold I hung up and went to Walgreens instead who had the product in stock. Saved myself a trip!

Typical Rite Aid in East San Jose -- never a dull moment when you're shopping at this location. I have witnessed security guards follow shoplifters out, and I have witnessed extremely intoxicated customers roaming the aisles. As I said, typical environment. The prices are not competitive but it's a place to stop in when you're in need of something quickly (i.e., medicine, sun block lotion, eyedrops, etc.) The cashiers are always the same ladies during each shift, and are generally very polite. A couple of them are on first name basis with me -- which I appreciate. It makes the shopping experience more personable. They close early on weekdays (10pm, I believe) so plan accordingly. Also, there are always people "scoping" you out in the parking lot so be careful all.
