Mediocre at best. Lessons are far too expensive for what you are getting. My child's progress was abysmal and that's putting it nicely. I kept hearing "every child learns at a different pace" but when I would tell them that XY and Z clearly wasn't working, instead of trying something new, they just kept doing the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over again...(literally the definition of insanity)The instructors constantly change, and I mean CONSTANTLY. At least 50% (and I'm being conservative - see other reviews) of our lessons were cancelled and rescheduled with somebody who had no idea what my child was working on. I expressed my concerns, and they tell me that with their leveling structure and the teacher notes, substitutes will know exactly what my child should be doing but this is absolutely wrong. My child is a pandemic kid and is still extremely weary around new people, so on top of them not knowing where my kid is at in the level, they're so anxious that not much is being done anyways.Their makeup policy is worthless since you can't ever find times with your child's teacher even on different days or when you try to double up on classes in the same day. Granted, you have unlimited makeups (much better than some other schools), but if you can't use them, you lose them! So what's the point? It's clearly just a selling point to make them LOOK good without providing any true benefit. My partner kept telling me to stop taking our child to this place, but I kept at it thinking we just needed to get over this hurdle but THOUSANDS of dollars later, and we were still at just level 2.I finally pulled my kiddo out when we moved and changed to a different school and low and behold, in a MONTH they had them swimming short distances. Waterworks Lessons are boring and TOO repetitive so when kids are struggling, it guarantees they keep struggling. Furthermore, to be made to feel like it was just *my* kid was a pretty terrible feeling, they should have instead found a way to actually help us or tried something different. The customer service people are fine. Overly robotic and are clearly taught to say the exact same thing as each other which is apparent when you call in for ANY reason. It's like hearing a pre recorded message in different voices, it's very odd.I'm sure this place is good for some kids, they seem to be busy... but trust your gut. If you don't think it's working, don't keep throwing your money away, try something different and don't let them guilt you into staying with them.I gave 2 stars ONLY because they have a play pool and other schools don't have that.

We had a very bad first impression ... prepared to attend the first class of my child at the weekend ... but they cancelled the class when we were on the way because the instructor didn't show up!The second bad impression happened … they just called me and cancelled the recurring class and suggested me an entry level instructor to choose. I wish we had other choice for swimming class for my child. ???

The customer service at the Bascom location is amazing. Both on the phone and at their facility in-person, Waterworks Bascom employees go above and beyond to help their students and parents. The manager personally made sure we received a make up class for a mix up I made on scheduling which was incredible. My son didn’t love his first teacher and everyone at the front desk helped me find the best teacher for my son and now my son is thriving and loves swimming. They were very patient with me and all of the schedule changes I had until I found the right teacher. I would recommend this location to anyone!

We have been going to the swim school for the last a year and half, the experience with most of the teachers are quite nice, most of them give feedback after each session and let u know how your kid could improve to level up.The major concern we had is their scheduling system - if you set up a recurring session with a teacher and for some reasons the teacher is not available for that day (depends on the teachers, some teachers could be not available more often than others) you are left with two options; the first option is to go with a teacher which could be totally new to you and had zero experience on what you are practicing; second is to do make-up classes which is very tricky. The make-up class won't be used towards your regular recurring classes and you have to schedule a stand-alone class to consume it, nevertheless, if you used all of your paid classes, regardless how many make-up classes you have, they will disappear in system after 7 days without any notifications. In our case, we bought the 32 classes package and towards end of the period we have total of 7 make-up classes, 2 of 7 make-up classes expires because we don't know they would expire in one month, the other 4 make-up class won't show up in the system until we pay for a new package. Most critically, none of those terms were pre-disclaimed! We didn't sign up for those terms but they do apply. If your family do class package, please be aware of those terms and use those make-up classes wisely. Not sure if this behavior is considered as fraud but just share some experience for others awareness.

Decent facilities. Good teachers. Their cancellation policy is repugnant. If their teacher cancels, somehow it is the student's fault and is punished by being forced to accept another teacher or be stuck in attempts to schedule a make up class. The trust between students and teachers is not as important as making money.

It's expensive as heck! But the teachers are nice, water is warm and the Bascom facility has extra playtime in the common pool.

My daughter is 6years old. She was feeling stuck at intial safety levels due to her fear. We tried couple of teachers for quite sometime. I picked Ms Aurora to try out and she has been very patient, persistent, motivates my daughter to believe in herself and overcome her fear. We have seen her spending a lot of time to understand the fear holding her up and work towards overcoming it. We truly appreciate all the work she has put into giving her the confidence.

My son is 5 years old and is on the spectrum with a speech delay. We were unable to do much in the way of swim lessons during the pandemic and I was anxious for him to be safer around the water. I also knew my son would need one on one attention. We were assigned Israel as a swim instructor and it has been worth every penny. He is gentle, encouraging and patient with my son, and he has made a lot of strides since starting with Israel. The lesson with Israel is something he looks forward to and talks about all week, and he smiles during the entire lesson. I specifically want to thank Israel for his kind approach to working with my son, and I also see other instructors working with special needs kids (and kids in general) with so much grace and patience. It is really hard sometimes to approach activities like swimming and I'm really thankful we started at this facility.

I regret to express my deep disappointment with the overall customer service experience at the facility where my daughter has been attending swimming lessons for the past two years. Despite our ongoing concerns regarding the lack of progress in her skills, it seems that the overarching approach remains focused on financial gains rather than the skill development of the children. After numerous attempts with different instructors, we were fortunate to identify one who shows promise in enhancing our daughter's swimming abilities. Nevertheless, the persistently subpar customer service has been a constant source of frustration throughout this period.Regrettably, our dissatisfaction escalated when our daughter sustained a knee injury during a swimming session, necessitating the cancellation of two classes. Although we understand the importance of makeup classes, we were disappointed to find that only one makeup class was offered despite the circumstances surrounding the injury. We sincerely hope that the positive influence of the newly assigned instructor will contribute to an improved experience for our daughter, and we implore the establishment to reconsider its customer service policies to better accommodate the diverse needs of concerned parents.

I've had a complete 180-degree experience with Waterworks, thanks to Aurora! A few months ago, I signed my 4-year-old son up for his first swim class. When we arrived just before noon on a Saturday, the school was packed and chaotic, with students and teachers scrambling around and shouting. I had a few seconds to ask my son's teacher if she could go slowly and be gentle with him, since it's his second time in a pool and his first class. Once in the water, he became terrified and cried. Instead of comforting him, she asked him to do little kicks. There was no attempt to build trust or connection -- it felt like she treated him like just another lesson to get through. After 15 minutes of him screaming and being forced to kick through tears, I took him out of class and never wanted to return to Waterworks again.I'm a teacher as well, and as every teacher knows, before you can teach anything, or get a child to learn anything, you have to establish a connection and build trust first. If a kid is highly resistant, no learning can happen. This is exactly what teacher Aurora told me, at my son's second class a few weeks later, when we finally decided to give Waterworks one more try. She was it. She listened to me when I asked her to go slowly and let him set the pace, she made sure that my son was comfortable with her presence first, and she focused on play and making him smile while sprinkling in skill practice (blowing bubbles, dipping head in waster). He came out of the water all smiles and feeling so proud of himself. Seeing his face all lit up, hearing him say, "Mama, I did it!" made my week. We couldn't have done it without our amazing teacher! For kids who are just starting out, what I would recommend to parents is to buy a few private classes if possible, to let your child acclimate to the environment first and build a sense of safety and comfort in the pool. Also, I recommend picking a time slot that isn't packed -- Friday nights have worked well for us so far. Most importantly, find a teacher who is patient, kind, and -- well, just ask for Aurora. She has the magic touch!

We went here for our daughters lessons for quite some time. But they started kicking parents out of the seats DURING lessons so that they could prep for evening parties. No on site management that appear to be concerned and off site managers put no stop to it. They appear too focused on profit and not enough on customer service for folks that have already paid for lessons. Strong recommendation to look elsewhere for lessons.ADDENDUM.I posted this 5 months ago and see that I received an apparently concerned response. After countless more back and forth communications where the problem was supposed to be resolved, it continues. Management oversight is unable to assist with poor on site management. Having now experienced what happens when you attempt to resolve things through appropriate communication with management my STRONG recommendation against dealing with Waterworks in any way has only increased.Don't do it.
