I don't recommend. They really tricked me into paying more and more! and they didn't help with my issues.

Hospital ? “in name” only. New clients, had our second appointment for a few vaccinations but I/we asked the front receptionist “if” someone could quickly check our puppy’s (13wks old) right ear (maybe would have taken 30 seconds to see if we needed any care/further concern) so the nice girl went to the back area and returned to say “by appointment only” (?!), mind you this was on a Friday @ 4pm & they closed @ 6pm. At that moment, I assumed no appointments were available for the remainder of the evening as they (3 receptionists) said nothing to the effect, “let me check to see if I can get you seen today”, they just asked, “do you want to make an appointment” .. I then asked “is there veterinarians working at the moment” and she said “yes” but I would need to make an appointment. I’m astonished that a certified technician (provides vaccination's) couldn’t or simply wouldn’t take a quick look (provided a recommendation) or encourage us to wait around, maybe the veterinarian(s) could take a quick look in-between appointments but the technician quickly departed to the back area and the receptionist(s) again asked if we wanted to make an appointment.Truly unbelievable the level of care/concern shown towards a rather innocent (new client/unknown procedures), non-time consuming request. VCA (Almaden) definitely feels more like “for profit” than “for care” towards our beloved pet. Now, I know that may not be the case (maybe, a ready to go home type of day) but they “collectively” made us feel like we entered an assembly line, like we were asking for something completely unrealistic and made us feel baffled that there was no real effort/interest to explain/offer advice (silence & stares) or further assistance. And, don’t even get me started on the negative energy/confusion my spouse had during the first visit (returned with more questions than answers). We will not be returning to this location :/

If the clinic is out of a vaccine and your appointment is for that vaccine then the clinic should have the courtesy to tell you before you arrive for the appointment. Generally, staff is courteous but they should acknowledge that you are there even if on a call. It only takes a wave, smile, or putting the call on a brief hold. I like the vets but they are always changing. Services are expensive and their wellness plan sounds good but is only minimal savings. I recommend doing the math before committing to the plan.

I just want to say, amazing customer service. I recently lost my pet rabbit, and went here for their cremation service. They helped with everything that I needed and was so understanding and sweet. They also took time out of their day to give their condolences through a beautiful card, that I really appreciate. I would 100% recommend coming here for any pet services. On top of that, all the staffs that i’ve talked to were amazing.

The two stars are for the vets/vet techs. Because the ones we have seen have all been great. But customer service here is abhorrent. We started going to VCA almaden three years ago. Our 3yr old dog has been with them her whole life and our senior dog for the last three years of his life. Recently our senior dog was having mobility issues so we called VCA for an appointment and they said they were booked for three weeks and if it was an emergency go to the emergency vet.Long story short we did, dog had cancer, and we had him put down in the comfort of his own home. Now I know busy vet offices are par for the course right now with all the pandemic pets! However the issue with VCA is their lack of sympathy at the front desk. We had to call after our dog passed to cancel his appointment we had booked weeks in advance. We said he had died. The front desk's response "ok I'll cancel the appointment." Click. We had to call again twice to check in the delivery of his ashes. Not once were we offered an "I'm sorry for your loss" or any sort of sympathy. The fact that our vet's office didn't give a hoot about their client was hurtful. Imagine calling your grandpa's doctor to cancel an appointment because he passed and being met with "k, thnx!" Our dog was our family member for thirteen years and just another number for VCA. We weren't expecting them to throw a funeral, but at the very least a kind word would have been nice. Our previous vet sent a card after our dog passed years ago.We have since changed vets. I hope VCA changes, too.

Need a remodel. Vets are wonderful but facility is dated. The interior specifically needs new floors, baseboards and a fresh coat of paint. Given how dates it is it seems rundown and dirty and makes me question what the back room looks likes for the dogs. It's a shame too because the location and outside of the building is so nice and cute looking.I would highly recommend the owners invest in a remodel. Again the inside of a depressing and makes me want to take my pets elsewhere.

Kirk Kasuya, DVM is one of the best vets in Santa Clara county in my opinion.I speak from the point of view of his administering great healthcare services to my 12 year old cat Chase and helping my other cat, 22 year old Java peacefully and respectfully leave us to move on to his next life. The associates who work with Dr. Kasuya all are professional and definitely customer service oriented. My 9 year old German Shepard will soon be visiting Dr. Kasuya for her checkups and vaccinations because I feel good about VCA Almaden Valley in general. It is nice to know that there still are businesses that work hard understanding that the needs of their clients and patients are not necessarily the same.

Dr took good care of my dog, he poked his eye with something needed a weeks worth of eye meds. $282 with my 20 coupon. Dr quoted one price for an allergy injection $42 and once I got home looked at the itemized bill, I was charged $67 for allergy injection. I also asked front desk if there was a charge for follow up visit, I was told the follow no, unless the Doctor prescribes more meds. At follow up visit check out I was charged $82. I questioned the charge and was told it’s there follow up charge. I reminded the front desk of our conversation… no charge for follow up visit? She said it because it’s a different Doctor. Not nice, not appreciated.

This review is ONLY for the front desk / check out person named Stephanie(sp?). She overcharged on our bill for an item we didn't receive. We ASKED her to confirm it wasn't on the bill, she said it wasn't, paid, got receipt, and right there on the receipt was the charged she claimed wouldn't be there. We asked to get this corrected, she didn't even offer a refund, just a "credit". Then had to force her to give us a refund cause why do we want a credit?I then call in, asking for her name as I had forgotten. During this phone call, after getting her name and saying thank you have a nice day to her, she mumbles something very not nice sounding at the end of the call. Can't even speak up and say it to my face. Terrible customer service from her, absolutely RUDE, and just generally the worst interaction I've ever had with someone here. Our visit with the doctor was great, so once again, this 1 star review is 100% for Stephanie. She needs to go, or a massive overhaul in customer service / how not to mumble bullshit under your breath at the end of a call. Super classy Steph. When I setup another appointment, I'll always be asking for the name of who I'm speaking with as if she answers my call again - I'm just instantly asking for whoever else is available. I refuse to deal with her again.

VCA Almaden is the best. They love my Rocco as much as I do and I am always at ease when he has an appointment or procedure scheduled. Thank you VCA Almaden Family!

My dog has been coming here for last 14+ years and we love this place. Unfortunately my dog is getting old and we decided to put her down this past week. Dr Brian ( sorry didn' remember his last name ) and everyone at VCA has provided all the information and let me know what to expect throughout the euthanasia process. They gave us all the time and privacy we need guide us along. Just want to say thanks to the entire staff to help us going through this sad moment. To other pet owners, if you are in this neighborhood, check out VCA Almaden.

The inside team is very unorganized, I had an appointment booked, and then confirmed a reschedule twice, via text and verbal, went in for my time and was asked to leave or reschedule as they didn't update the new time. Very unprofessional team and how they handled the situation.

We took our Cane Corso puppy and were so satisfied with the service that we now take our 4 dogs there. Staff is super nice, helpful, and diligent. The two vets that we've had the pleasure of working with have both been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. You can tell they love what they do and care about their patients/clients. They're prices are reasonable and they don't try to upsale you or rip you off. It's the most comfortable I've felt in a veterinarian clinic.
