This post office location used to open 24 hours at the lobby such that people can get their mail after hour and holiday. However, after COVID, they changed the rule such that the lobby were locked after hours. This caused major inconvenience USPS! I hope the lobby will open again at previous hours which is 24 hours a day 365 days a years!
The staff are the highlights of this store such that they are professional and family. They never rushed me when i have questions.
The atmosphere of this location is a bit dated but sufficient.

This is one of the main locations in San Jose and they’re most definitely a one stop shop. There’s a bunch of booths for fast service (just don’t show up right before closing) and they stay open later than most other USPS. They have a Dropbox for packages and mail during after hours. Lastly there’s a Passport Office located on the side of the building, just be aware of some potential homeless people with RVs. Not trying to bash them I’ve never had a bad encounter but just a heads up!

Worst experience at this USPS being discriminated by a staff here. I moved to Los Gatos a few months ago, this USPS is the closest to me and on 12/22/2023 I planned to help my ex-roomie ship her clothes to her boyfriend. I have the ‘from’ on the bottom and ‘to’ on the top on a sticker, and they are the same address, which I had done it all the time when shipping items with USPS and never had a problem. One staff, a minority lady with a round face in this store said to me that we American did not label like you Asians did and you can’t put the same address for both places. I told her that I had already done like this many times and never had a problem. She said no and refused to serve me. Then she went to the back when I started filming her behavior. This is the second time I come to this store and I clearly remember the same lady behave similarly last time. I was very frustrated and angry. An Asian face is what I born with. It’s not an excuse of being treated like this. I will never step into this store anymore. I filmed the lady’s face in case of any need to sue her in the future for her discrimination behavior. In the afternoon, I went to a different USPS and mailed my package as is without any problem. What the hell… how could it happen before the Christmas.

People here always just asked me to put an extra stamp after I asked them to weigh my letter. I don't understand how they feel comfortable just to ask us to pay more, it's not justified. Even though it may be just cents. As a customer, I can offer not to take the change. As a government worker, they can't ask me to pay more. Today I stood my ground. I just wanted to buy 27 cents more stamps. You have no idea the excuses she came up with not to let me get 27 cents stamp! Most ridiculous one is, I don't have 27 cents stamp. This is a post office!

I highly recommend this post office and the super helpful and efficient staff especially Carlo who is a supervisor there. I had a very important package that I needed to receive at a certain time/day given my schedule. Carlo promptly put a hold on my mails and was able to intercept my package and hand delivered it to me at the post office. He was responsive and acted promptly during this entire process, I really appreciate what the staff did for me today. Can't thank you enough , Carlo and staff!

The majority of the staff are professional and polite at the Hillsdale location. I especially like Farhat, Madeleine, and the Asian woman (I think her name is Maria?) because they always answer my questions professionally without attitude and are always very helpful. The other Indian woman needs to work on her customer service skills and to learn to speaking politely and professionally; she typically quotes me the most expensive way of shipping even when I tell her that I don’t need to rush the package and don’t need anything more than a tracking number. I have to keep asking her if that is least expensive way to ship before she gives me the least expensive way to ship even though that is what I typically request. So, either she doesn’t listen or perhaps these workers get commission for selling the most expensive way to ship? Either way, I can’t be in and out quickly when this Indian woman is helping me because it is like pulling teeth to get the lowest shipping rate with tracking from her; I have to repeatedly ask her if this is the least expensive way to ship with tracking until she hopefully gives me what I requested.

I'm really frustrated with the carriers who keep putting my important mail in other people's box in my community. It's one thing to receive the former tenants mail but to put my mail that has the unit # clear as day on it in someone else's box is infuriating. D*** d*** make sure to put all of the junk mail there but important mail, nope! Unit # is clearly on the door of each box. It's not rocket science!

There’s not much to rate about a post office since I don’t hold post offices to some weirdly high standard. They take my packages and sell me packing supplies. It’s very easy to ship stuff at the counter. Go in, grab an envelope, stuff the item in, write down the addresses, and pay for it at the counter. Simple. 10/10I don’t care about “customer service”, they process my packages and answer my questions. What else do you need?

These people are very snobby. Feel disappoint about that. My mails was throw away. They never arrived to the destination. I wondered why? Be careful with your mails. Make sure they don't see you or they will throw away your mails for no reason. Maybe because I'm colored?? I will always support USPS. High technology is taking away lot of old business out there. smh

Carlo is the best USPS staff I have encountered. Usually people think that USPS has zero customer service and I do too until Carlo called me a few days ago about my delayed package. He is patient and communicates clearly about where my package is and what is happening right now. And he said he has his eye on with the package and will call me everyday until I got my package! I thank him for his impeccable service and I think people like him needs more praises!

Gotta appreciate our postal workers' efforts. Was struggling with the parcel locker for a minute and then I found this note in my mailbox, which gave me a laugh. They did their best to fit the box in the parcel locker, it just meant it would be a little harder to open. I know they did it because they didn't want to leave it on my doorstep (which is what the tracking notice initially said) because package theft is so rampant. Thank you USPS for your hard work during the holidays!

The employees here are always very rude and instead of helping they want to give me a hard time. Unprofessional and not pleasant!

Kudos for the self service kiosk.. If you are a little savvy, you can send your post yourself and bypass the long lines.

The customer service here is zero if there is any. The lady is Indian desent very obnoxious. I came here to help dropping off the package for my neighbor to be send out. Literally, she is correcting me what dropping off is. Lol ?. She must be hating her job. Looking miserable on a Monday late afternoon. People come in dropping off and pay n leave why do you think throwing attitudes at them would make you a better person? These people here need to learn how to have some manners. Ridiculous on how they interact with people. Please have some proper training for these people. A little more professional wouldn't hurt.
