Would love a self checkout and a neutral robot over rude staff. I thought the staff was rather rude and dismissive. Then I realized they're very nice...if youre white. They'll smile at you and ask you how you're doing... just make sure you're white. If you're brown, then they'll be happy to help you REGRET ASKING THE STAFF FOR HELP. They'll huff and puff and roll their eyes if you need help looking for something. Three chances. Done with this place.

They’ve got a great selection of wine, beer, and liquor. And they also have Eggo shots and a lot of other really unique stuff…

I found what I wanted quickly. It's sectioned by type of wine then alphabetical by name. Much cheaper than the grocery store.

Nice staff, price matched or some good deals, i usually go to other locations, I came in for cold beer only to find all/most the beer is room temperature even in the fridges, just disappointed with the fridge temperatures and beer shelf not being full, good prices make up for it. Almost didn't buy any beer but for price I said why not. I'll be back for liquor

I stopped earlier for some Cava and Alana went out of her way to show me other Spanish wine options plus some Irish :) beer and her favor white Tequila. Long story short; her knowledge was great and I experienced things I wouldn't normally buy.

I recently visited Total Wine & More for my brother's birthday celebration, hoping to purchase some of his favorite drinks. While I appreciated the store's extensive selection, my experience was marred by an unexpected ID policy that could benefit from clearer communication and more flexible handling.
Upon reaching the checkout, we were informed that everyone in our group needed to present identification. My friend, who is 21, had forgotten his ID. I understand the importance of age verification in alcohol retail, and I respect the need for compliance. When we offered a photo ID as an alternative—following the cashier's own suggestion—it was surprising when she then called her supervisor, who categorically denied its acceptance. This created confusion, especially since the cashier initially indicated that a photo ID might be acceptable and then cited a specific age verification policy for those between 21 and 22 years old.
This situation felt particularly frustrating, especially considering that it was a special occasion and my friend was clearly of legal age. As a former retail manager with over eight years of experience, I recognize the necessity of adhering to store policies. However, the rigidity displayed in this instance felt excessive and not reflective of a customer-focused approach.
Moreover, I noted a lack of signage in the store indicating that everyone in the party, regardless of whether they were making a purchase, needed to show ID. This lack of transparency contributed to our confusion and disappointment. Clear communication regarding such policies at the entrance or checkout would greatly enhance the customer experience and prevent similar situations in the future.
In conclusion, while I appreciate Total Wine & More's commitment to responsible service, I believe that implementing more flexible age verification policies and ensuring that clear signage is displayed would significantly improve customer satisfaction. This change could help maintain the store's reputation for excellent service while still prioritizing compliance with legal requirements.

Worst experience ever in this place , incredibly rude people and I expend hundreds but this time I was with a friend he forgot his ID, I love nearby so I told him, just go home and I’ll buy this , they didn’t sell me anything and my friend that doesn’t even live in CA , had to put up with it , and come back with an ID in order for them to sell me ? Worst experience ever

One of my favorite places to shop but can we please get the red white and blue Beatbox Variety Packs at Total Wine? I love the new cherry limeade flavor and would love to be able to purchase here especially on my quick shopping runs for the weekend.

I'm totally impressed. The gal stocking and taking inventory (assumption) in the Gin aisle was super nice, very helpful, and knowledgeable. She was easy on the eyes too but too young for me. So glad I ran into her because the conversation about the different Gins was great. She probably got more helpful information from me than I did her, but all in all, I appreciate her insight on the newest gins on the market and others that no longer exist. Sad to hear the Bummer and Lazarus Gin is no longer available. This would explain why I have not seen it. I told myself I would forget her name but I did. Good news, I'll never forget her face. I will be back for more suggestions.

I'm that weird guy who shops for all of the above so this place has me covered whether it's beer, wine, or everything else.
Everyone forgets about the beer fridge in the back - it's underrated.
The Near Beer section needs some improvement.
