Yeeesh you might wanna ask how many BJ’s come with prices like theirs. Be prepared to spend the better part of 1k for a driveshaft.

Southbay Driveline is my go to place for driveshafts. I have old Toyota Pickups, and they've made me new, up to date shafts that are perfectly balanced and visually pleasing. The shop is communicative, detailed in their work, and has made shafts using new style flanges & such so as to make future servicing easy.

Took them a vibrating drive line that San Leandro shortened hoping for it to be fixed. They hung more weight on it and sent it out. It was worse than before, when I called to advise it was worse, they told me it was the car? Took it to Stockton, they found mixed caps and .018" out, wobbly. I am not sure witch is worse these people or San Leandro? Stay away.

Would never use this shop again, they do not stand behind their product. If you want a strong performance drive shaft this is absolutely not the place. I am part of a large 4x4 group and they lost our business for sure.

I was worried by the mixed reviews, i had a couple people tell me i shouldnt go here since the owner retired and left his son in charge. The son doesn't have the best communication or customer service skills, the pricing is a little high, but the job was done correctly and i am happy with the results. It took a little longer than it should have, but in the end, the work they did was clean and works well. You get what you pay for. You just need to be patient. I will happily pay more and wait longer for high quality results.

Great place to have a driveline made from scratch....or rebuilding your old stock one...these guys will build anything that links any output to any input...automotive drive train related.....

The original Steve has retired and moved to Mexico according to the guy running the shop these days. They are unable to perform a balance on a driveshaft competently. The reason for this review is the callous lack of care that it wasn't right and the fact that I was told on the phone they don't offer a warranty.

Kids running it into the ground.I’ve had them make 7 driveline’s for me over the years, always received excellent service. The new generation is turning what was once a fantastic shop into the ground.Dropped off one of their custom shafts for a rebuild and they were extremely short and rude. Was returned without the pinion flange necessary to reinstall it. That alone didn’t bother me, I told them let’s just get it rebuilt right. But then, the unit failed within a few thousand miles, they had forgotten to grease the double cardan, leaving me stranded outside Wikieup, AZ. Was able to limp it to a shop in Phoenix to get rebuilt and they refused to offer any compensation. It’s a work vehicle which needed to be on the road ASAP and their stance was I should have shipped it back to them for repair.. Needless to say, for a company I used to have a stellar relationship with, getting ignored with zero professional empathy for the situation rubs me wrong. It’s not how they used to be nor how a business should be operated, in my opinion. I won’t be going back.

The crown Vic police interceptor driveshaft I had they worked is unusable. They replaced the yolk which they said they attempted to shrink but cracked. The replacement is low quality and expensive at the same time. The splined section of the yolk was too long and it didn't fit flush into the transmission. Luckily, I had a spare yolk from a spare drive shaft from eBay and that worked. They refused to warranty their work because I disassembled the yolk myself which was easy as I saw a lot of high quality procedures in YouTube. I just wanted the garbage yolk they use refunded but even that they refused. These guys are not the professionals type. They don't stand behind their work. You're better off getting pre-balanced yolk at rock-auto or used one at eBay and have it balanced yourself installed on car using screw clamps as seen in YouTube videos. It's really easy to replace u-joints so I don't understand the warranty void crap. If you have intermediate mechanical skills, you don't need these guys. They're confession of quality of work is b******** Thanks to YouTube that made a lot of car work in the open and expose a lot of fraudulent auto shops. Oh, did I mention that they used epoxy glue to stick the balance weight on the aluminum driveshaft and wrap duck tape on it? Is that high quality workmanship? Their excuse was they don't weld balance weight cause it would be easier to correct that later in case there was a mistake. Hmm, they're not even confident to do it right the first time.
