As a Brit in LA I find this place truly magical- the quality of the theaters, the range of movies and the fact they always have costumes and props on display; which turns me into a kid in a candy shop. I grew up in Wiltshire, England and our theaters are not like this!

Let me preface this review by saying I do not write very many reviews, and I especially don't like to write negative reviews. However, my experience with this stylist was so terrible, that I felt it was important for others to read about it before booking with Brittany Baker. I had long hair that I loved curling and styling. I needed a fresh cut and asked Brittany to cut it to shoulder length. Now, I'm not sure what shoulder length means to a supposedly professional stylist, but to an average person like me, it means that the hair falls at the shoulders. Before I get into what happened, let me start by saying that I was first called in for a consultation. I live in south San Jose so it's a bit of a drive to get there, but I thought, "ok, I'm sure she's got a good reason for asking her clients to come in twice (consultation and actual appointment). At the consultation I told her about my hair type, the challenges, and what type of cut I'm looking for. Fast forward 10 days to the day of the appointment, as soon as I walked in she started complaining how tired she was, and how she was so glad I was her last appointment of the day. I thought it was odd to tell your client that, but I still sympathized with her. I know it's not an easy job to be on your feet all day...I get it. Before she got started, I once again told her very clearly what length I was looking for, and the way I liked to style my hair. I specifically told her that I do not like my hair short (because I have curly and frizzy hair), and that I want it at a length that I can still tie and curl my hair. I said, "shoulder length," and pointed to where I wanted it cut. I told her I do not like my hair flat and that I don't ever flat iron my hair. Either Brittany didn't understand, or she didn't care...or maybe both. Since I was also getting a color, Brittany suggested we chop some hair so that she doesn't have to "waste any color." I told her that was fine, so she grabbed my hair and cut off way more than she was supposed to. She didn't bothering taking any time to figure out where she wanted to make the cut; just grabbed and chopped. She didn't pause for a second to ask me to ensure that where she was cutting was the length I wanted. MOST stylists do this! Most stylists will show you where they are going to make the cut and confirm that it's what you want. But not Brittany! She just dived right into it. She miscalculated and then made it sound like it's what I wanted. "Just above the shoulders, right?" I said, "No. This is way shorter than what I asked for." She never once apologized and admitted that it was her mistake. Instead, she said, "I'm sorry you don't like it." And when I said, "I can't even tie my hair now because it's so short," she replied with, "Well you can still do a low pony." What was the point of calling me in for a consultation and asking me useless questions about my hair, when in the end she didn't listen to not one word? The only thing I can do now with this extremely short hair is straighten it. And not even with a regular straightener; I had to buy a mini one because the regular size is too big to grab such little hair! Reader, if you recall, I specifically told Brittany I do not like my hair flat; that I don't ever flat iron my hair. As if this wasn't the end of the horror story, when I woke up the next morning there was a thick, dark brown band of hair color left on my head. I tried washing and scrubbing it out and it would not come off. I texted Brittany and she said that because she was so stressed out over my haircut, she forgot to clean off the color. I have a hard time believing she is a professional. Even amateurs don't make these kinds of mistakes. If Brittany was the last stylist left on earth, I still would not recommend her. The only one nice thing I have to say is that she refunded me all my money the next day. Which was decent of her consi

Inside is great but wow the parking lot has the smallest spaces (I drive a SUV) and driving into the lot it's like they jammed as many spots in there as possible so just manuevering around is tight.

If you are looking for a new makeover, Sola Salon in Willow Glen is the place to go. The place is modern, clean, and well decorated. Junko provides the best service, and the other stylists are very kind and welcoming. I will definitely go back.

Apparently my stylist really likes her new salon studio, and I like the privacy where you don't have to listen to all the loud conversations and noise going on around you in a traditional salon.
