We were excited to buy a king size bed and dining table set (with 6 chairs) from this shop. The designs are good looking.However the furniture bought has damaged within a couple of years.Bed broke within 16 months of usage and chair broke within 25 months of usage. We are light weight people and the furniture was being used in normal conditions.Not to mention the bed broke when my wife was 8 months pregnant and the chair broke when she was in post partum phase literally causing serious injury in her backbone.Moreover when I raised the durability issue with customer support, they were not cooperative. I have returned the furniture. They even were not courteous enough to refund back full amount and deducted a good chunk of money.tLdr: the furniture/wood of Scandinavian designs is questionable. Please proceed with this shop at your own (and family’s) risk.

We are long time customers of Scandinavian Designs in San Mateo and bought two loveseats and a pair of dressers from them back in 2007. Those pieces are as beautiful now as they were when we first bought them. We went to their De Anza store in Cupertino to purchase a Turner leather sofa and Upten coffee table. Both pieces arrived as promised and look beautiful! The sofa is very comfortable, the leather is plush and of very good grain. Jonas was very helpful and efficient at the store, making sure to check the stock and get the earliest delivery. Delivery notifications were timely and up to date, and the furniture came as promised within the window of time stated. Delivery people were efficient, careful, thorough and quick. Couldn't ask for better service! Thank you to the entire team. You make shopping for furniture a pleasure.

We browsed dining table and chairs online first then walked into the store directly. Unfortunately the sets we were interested in were out of stock, needed to wait for several months. The salesman there promoted other sets to us, one of them fit our needs, they also had a coffee table with the same style which was perfect!Delivery and installation were smooth. Overall we had a good experience and think it’s efficient to find something suitable.

We have shopped at Scandinavian Design over the years. We have always found beautiful furniture and accent pieces that are unusual and not something you typical you see in most homes. The customer service has always been great. I highly recommend Scandinavian. Well crafted furniture and great prices.

5 stars for floor staff. Very friendly and helpful.Zero stars so far for quality. Our recliner that was delivered today has a crooked frame - one foot does not touch the floor - almost 1” floating above the floor.The delivery driver noted the defect and promised that the company will make it right.I also called the store, and the very friendly staff member promised to speak to the manager.Let’s see how the overall experience goes. I am somewhat disappointed in the quality of the product.UPDATE: The replacement was delivered today, and the old one taken back. Unfortunately, the replacement also has a crooked frame, i.e., one foot is off the floor, and it has a second problem (see photo) the right armrest has an ugly depression -- something is wrong with the cushioning in that armrest. Spoke to the store again, and they promised to inspect the next replacement before sending it. I would have thought they would have done that already. I'm afraid this is getting annoying.The delivery folks left lots of debris on our front porch (see pic).UPDATE: Approx. 3 weeks after first delivery, third time was the charm. We finally have a couch that sits on the floor on all 4 feet, and good cushioning.This experience has been not so great. I have started to suspect the quality of the product. I probably won’t buy from them again.
