Good selection of clothing and friendly workers. Prices are a little high, but I'm used to non-California prices so Im not sure if it's the norm. They have days and weeks with specific discounts for all clothing or specific categories/tags, so look out for those. Also suggest joining their mailing list beforehand to get a coupon for 25% 1 item. July 26-27 is every clothing item for $3 each, so I'd suggest going then. Was annoyed one of the fitting room doors was broken, but the one I used was clean and well-kept.
Prices I noticed/bought from:
Shirts: $6-$12
Shorts: $6-$8
Pants: $8-$12
Dresses: $9-$13
Purses/bags: $15-$25

I was able to find products for my home and lifestyle at super cheap prices. I had a hard time finding sizes as they organized by color instead. They almost have everything and lots and lots of kitchen and dishware

I dropped off a few items for donation and a cheerful very helpful employee greeted and thanked me. I decided to go in and see what they had. All staff members were upbeat and friendly. I ended up finding quite a few items. They have great prices and 50% off on a color tag of the week. I was most impressed with the employees who are all doing a great job. I will always stop here now when I’m in the area.

Way better prices than goodwill and savers. They price it based on the product category. For example shorts are $3.99 and skirts are $5.99. They usually have a specific color tag that is 50%. Really good stuff and the store is pretty organized. The workers are constantly bringing out new stuff.

Marcus who runs the donation center was very kind and encouraging even when I hadn't understood what is and is not accepted.

So, here's the scoop. I've been penning my thoughts on various thrift stores, and since I've shifted all my donations to this particular location, it's only fair I spill the beans here too. Not only do they seem to care more (like a doting grandma), but I also feel safer dropping off my stuff here (like a secure vault). Now, let's talk about my change of heart. Picture this: I usually frequent another store that's bigger than a whale, and when I go thrifting, I sometimes end up buying more than I need (guilty as charged!). It's like a treasure hunt where I find more than half of my list. But let's get back to the Salvation Army. When you donate and shop here, you're funding a residential Adult Rehabilitation Center program, which is pretty much run by its occupants. It's like a self-sustaining ecosystem! These programs are offered on a charitable basis, with no insurance required (talk about a sweet deal!). Now, if you stumble upon a review that says the staff was horrible, it might be from someone who's having a rough day in their recovery. It's like a rollercoaster ride, they have their ups and downs. Each person is there because they've decided to hold themselves accountable, like a knight facing a dragon. It's a process and a commitment for them, and each person there has a struggle that you may or may not understand. The store itself has recently had a makeover and now seems to be more organized than a librarian's bookshelf. I've found some real gems here in the past, which is why I don't visit as often - I end up buying these treasures and then stare at them for months while I try to resell them or just let them sit there. They've also extended their hours to be open on Sundays (hallelujah!). I'm a big fan of buying second hand (reduce, reuse, recycle, right?), so I will scout all the stores. But because of the Salvation Army's city presence with not only the program, but also the food program, homeless aid, and so much more, I support dropping my donations off here. It's like my personal fortress of goodwill (but no comparison) . I always seem to be greeted by someone and sometimes even engage in a little chit-chat. I'm a people person, so this is likely why. I also believe in treating anyone the way you would expect to be treated - it's the golden rule, after all!

This thrift store is more expensive than purchasing new items at retail stores. Not ok. Salvation Army thrift stores have drastically changed. I'll just go to Ross instead! Goodwill had always had a poor reputation and SA was known for being a great deal. Not anymore; now they're both ridiculous. If I wanted to make a donation to SA, I'll just donate. But lower income members of our community depend on thrift stores for their basic clothing and household needs. Instead of being a win-win, shopping here is just making a full donation to SA, as most items are priced more than purchasing them new elsewhere. So I'll just do that from now on. What a tragedy.Whoever is making these decisions, to totally change the pricing after all these years... You've really blown it. The Winchester store is already closed... Are you trying to shut this one down too?
