Best pharmacy around. Everyone is friendly and I can also shop for groceries while the prescription is being filled.

Yesterday when I went to our local San Jose Safeway #6477 on Almaden Expressway to buy wine and groceries I noticed all of the wine had risen in price 15% - 30% higher than a week ago. Example: Edna Valley Chardonnay $8.99 - $11.99 Sean Minor Chardonnay $11.99 - $14.99. What could be the reason for the big jump in pricing? It's not from the wineries.

So this review is for the bakery only. Where do I start... I guess it'd be a week ago when I ordered a cake online. Picked out the cake, entered all my info and got my confirmation email, all of that. Went to go pick it up today and I was about 45 minutes late, but that didn't matter 'cause when I got there, they had no idea what cake I was talking about. Turns out they didn't even make it because they don't have the filling they offered online. They had a whole week, but I never heard anything! So I asked the lady why no one bothered calling me and all she could do was shrug and say she didn't know, but that if I hold on, they can have it ready for me in 8 minutes with another filling. Another lady came over and she was also nice, so that explains the two stars. I went back to look at the cake that was advertised online and of course it looks totally different, but the icing on the cake () was that in the filling they used, I found a dead ant.

Normally I go to Safeway to get a sandwich quickly for lunch. My experience was nothing quick nor appreciated. The sandwich area had no meat-had to wait for the key to cut up the meat from another section. Then they can't toast the sandwich since their toasted does not work. To top it off they did not write anywhere that adding artichoke to the sandwich would cost $ .50 cents more. Not coming back here for sure

Terrible asian deli workers ,of all the safeways I go to this experience was the worst . I ordered 2 basil pasta salads and the lids were not placed securely with sticker on top like the other safeways usually do , and one of the salads ended up spilling out in my safeway bag! Also the sliced cheese we ordered was not zipped closed at all . They clearly did not want to help us. I have high suspicion that there is racism or just pure hatred for there jobs when I got back in line another customer was there who was as well asian told me I could go ahead of him, the asian worker hears all this and go to help the customer before me regardless I said to myself whatever Im be patient it doesn't matter but I couldn't help but notice it was intentional disrespect , mind you it was two asian workers there but only one willing to help and do customer service before finishing whatever work task she had to do. Also q.s do they even clean the rotisserie chickens? From what I saw was the lady picking them out straight from the box chicken gooey liquids dripping all over and her taking handful of seasoning to rub it on real quick and placing in the rotisserie oven , this same lady asked me if I needed help then went back to what she was doing with the Rotisserie chicken as if I didn't say anything at all and glaring at me as if im intruding on her. I'm guessing something bad happened with some so called"black" folk at this location because there was a few people on staff staring us down like we was those ones to do some bad things in they store. And because of the bad service im not really trying to go back unless I absolutely have to. Im glad I don't have to honestly. the new one on Berryessa way across street from Flea Market way cleaner and better customer service, also they have a greater variety of stuff . Also a diverse staff = NO DISCRIMINATION. Disclaimer: no hatred for asians .just don't like racist and disrespectful people in general.

Once again today 2/9/22 at about 1pm, no shopping carts to be found....anywhere! For some reason this particular Safeway store cannot keep a supply of shopping carts for shoppers. If you want a shopping cart, you more or less have to follow a shopper out to their car, or hang out by the cart return area, in hopes of waiting for a cart. The trick is to visit other safeways in the area for the big shopping items that require a cart, and go this safeway if you want one or two items.

This review is for Safeway grocery delivery from the Almaden Valley, San Jose store. I live in Los Gatos and this is where my online grocery orders are fulfilled. I am very impressed with the customer service I received from the employees in the .com, delivery department! I did not want DoorDash delivering my groceries and the young lady was so very understanding and helpful with my request. All of my groceries were properly packed and delivered in a refrigerated truck. Excellent customer service. Thank you so much for accommodating my request. This is not a critique against DoorDash. Safeway makes an online statement about their groceries being delivered in a clean, temperature controlled truck. I really appreciate having that service during this time. :). It would be nice if there was a choice at check-out. I would be willing to wait for the Safeway truck every time!

The grocery section is good. But the Pharmacy in this store tends to often have a “mailbox that is full”. Plus, they seem to need more help in that department. Listening to their phone-song for long periods of time, has become old. Do they still call the patient when their prescription(s) are ready? Nice enough counter help, just not sufficient number of people to answer the phone in a timely manner. Can more people be hired? Thx!

i'm grateful that we have the store in our neighborhood and overall I've experienced satisfactory service. However, to the management - please do not let this become a hang out for homeless people. It brings your store in the whole neighborhood down.

Usually the pharmacy has my one and only prescription ready ahead of time about one week. Today was a Sunday, don't go on a Sunday, and it wasn't ready so the pharmacist asked me to wait 15 minutes. I shopped slowly and came back at least 25 minutes later. I got back in line and saw a lady that had also been asked to come back, in line after me. Then the pharmacist calls the lady behind me to help her! When she was done and then called me I told her I didn't think that was right. Her excuse? First she said that the young lady had had an issue with her order. OK so did I, I guess. Then she said she's there alone. I said, yes I see that. I will be taking my prescription somewhere else where they don't think it's ok to treat people rudely and make up silly excuses as to why. I think she did it because she felt like it.
