There are lots of dead bugs in the glass cases.Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable.I think it is too dark for reading but there are signs everywhere.3 hours to truly see everything. The garden seems overgrown but quaint. The Koi pond is gross, and the fish hide.Would still recommend a visit.

I was 5 years old when my family would visit when the temperature would exceed , 90 degrees.A donation was all that would require entry. The grounds were so nice for picnics with grandma , Nellie Sisneros.

What a beautifully curated museum with fine attention to detail and thorough respect to all of the artifacts! There is literally so much to see and read! It took us about 3 hours to get through the in door portion of the museum. Please make sure to spend some time in the beautiful tranquil garden and relax, eat a picnic lunch or read a book. You won't regret it!

I can say that I thoroughly recommend this museum for all groups of all ages. The curation is diverse and entertaining. There are guided and self-guided tours with a passport system to keep track of what you've done. There are interactive games for you to play and the area itself is free to browse. They maintain their grounds well, you can tell a lot goes into keeping this place looking prim and proper. There's complimentary parking on the side and ample street parking all around.

What a wonderful adventure that was. My partner and I took the bus there and had lunch at that wonderful burger shop on the corner before going into the Museum.I had no idea what to expect when we entered and I was surprised—it was busy early on a Tuesday! They had a tour guide for the tomb replica part and he did such an amazing job. These photos are from outside in the Peace Garden at the Northern-facing wing of the temple grounds. We will definitely be going back sometime!?️✨?? ?

This is our second time here and it was just as fun as the first time!! The exhibits are so informative and well laid out. We always learn something new!Must go into the Tomb it is so cool but a little dark to give the effect of being underground. So many details to look at. There is a room with diagrams of different life styles, like the queen in her room, or carpenters building, a family having dinner, etc. The details in the displays are so great and well done!Entrance cost $20 for two people and we spent a whole afternoon here. There are outside grounds you have access to before paying to enter the museum part. The outside grounds are beautiful, clean and relaxing. You could take a book and sit out there for hours! We will be back. Also staff was so friendly!

Impressive collection that is pretty well curated. Really highlights how elaborate, sophisticated, and spiritualized ancient egyptians were. Brings home the scale and how distant in the past it was.Real mummies both in and out of their sarcophagus may not be for the faint of heart. The personal handwriting, and burial cloth were moving.Left with a sense of heaviness and awe.We spent about 1.5 hours. Parking is free in back and in adjacent park.

This is truly one of San Jose's hidden gems. The grounds for exploring and a historic stroll are really awesome. It's just large enough to walk and explore and feel the Egyptian influence and vibes. The museum is really something to not miss. It's one of the largest displays of Egyptian artifacts, statues, art, mummies, etc. outside of Egypt itself. They have a walk through replica of a tomb with multiple chambers, and it feels very real. My son and I pretend that we're explorers like Indiana Jones! It's fun and I've been many times!

The museum is very cool. Grandkids enjoyed it. The tomb tour was fun. Two tour guides did a very good job.But they need to hire a grounds keeper. Part of the experience is enjoying the outside areas. I couldn't because it is in such poor condition and the pond is so dirty. I was very upsetting to see the 2 Koi fish in disgusting dirty water. The peaceful garden was definitely not peaceful.

Great place for an Egypt enthusiast. I didn't see a gift shop, but we may have missed it. We enjoyed the indoor displays as well as the gardens. I'd highly recommend!

I've always wanted to check this place out and am happy I got the chance; it's one of the few museums on this side of the US that contains well organized and informative Egyptian history and culture. I've only read so much in elementary school, so it's comforting to know such a space exists.
