I am writing this review to PROTECT other consumers. If I could, I would rate Barahonas a minus 5. After a $6,779.31 the photo is how our stuff arrived 16 days later. If I were to tell you everything that was extremely dirty, crushed boxes, broken pot plants, I would have to write an article in a magazine. PLEASE do not believe ANYTHING Barahonas tells you verbally because they will point you to the contract you signed (that their lawyers wrote to protect them only). The contract even says the delivery date is an estimate due to "miscommunication" on their part of course. While our stuff was being picked up, we were actually helping the mover (Christian) because he was by himself which took 6 hours. The movers that delivered our stuff to our new out of state address asked for water which I gladly gave them, then the foreman of this 2 man team said I had too many bags of clothes (16 vacuum sealed bags) and that walking them into my bedroom closet was too far and he was going to have to charge extra for this, so, we also helped these 2 movers with our stuff. I watched as the foreman was putting a heavy box on top of another box that was clearly labeled "FRAGILE - China" and had to intervene. This seems like a crooked company because their Bill of Lading says "Front Line Moving" and does not reference "Barahonas." We tried to reason with them for a discount in exchange for their horrible customer service and they would not budge. They do not care about you or your belongings.

A trash experience who may have illegal guys working for them. Barahonas Moving, Front Line Moving & Storage and America’s First Moving are all CROOKS!!!! Barahonas sends the Docusign documents. But someone from FrontLine sends the emails w/ poor grammar from a gmail account. I can’t believe I fell for this. They’ve stolen all my items. I had a quick move back to Louisiana and I was bringing some older furnishings. But I had all my nice kitchen equipment packed and all my clothes. It’s all stolen. The customer service tied to America First Moving was rude. Please see my other review. These guys were all working together. They’re too silly to realize they get recorded going in and out of people’s homes. Also I took a photo of the truck but I imagine the license plates are probably stolen. These guys need to be stopped. You have no way of knowing who they are when they show up because they aren’t wearing any uniforms. The truck looks like a piece of junk. I truly am living a nightmare right now. These clowns have stolen my things are are still trying to run a credit card that has been cancelled by now. Anyway, beware. I will be on the phone to the police bright and early tomorrow. Thieves!!

Terrible experience, unprofessional, 4 hours late, rude, and I am entirely convinced that if I ever see my belongings again, they will be damaged. The packing was a joke, I ended up doing most of it even though I paid for them to do it. They showed up with not enough wardrobes or boxes. Now, they are holding my belongings hostage saying I owe $3000 more than the estimate and they have yet to confirm a delivery date. These guys are tied to Safe Ship Moving and Front Line Moving who are the brokers who hired these guys and they are just as awful to deal with. Do not hire them.

I am still haunted by the traumatic ordeal I endured while moving with this company. In December last year, we needed to relocate our office from Austin to New York. We chose a brokerage service, I believed the extra cost would ensure a seamless moving process, especially since they assured me, they would handle everything diligently. I meticulously documented all our furniture, providing detailed lists and photographs to aid in their estimation process. However, our troubles began when the initial price estimate was abruptly inflated due to an erroneous calculation on their part. Despite the mounting costs, we reluctantly agreed, assuming this adjustment would be the last. To compound matters, the brokerage company subcontracted a subpar and unprofessional moving firm, Barahonas Moving, to execute the relocation. The moving team from Barahonas arrived significantly late and at the wrong location, immediately asserting that the square footage estimate provided by the brokers was inaccurate. Threatening to leave unless we paid an additional $3,000 (for a total of 15K), we felt coerced and betrayed. With limited options, we reluctantly acquiesced, hoping to salvage the situation. The incompetence of the movers became increasingly apparent as they confessed to being mere drivers and not skilled professionals. Their work was lackadaisical and disorganized, lacking the necessary tools and expertise to disassemble and reassemble our furniture properly. Consequently, a lot of items were damaged, soiled, and marred during transit. To add insult to injury, the movers callously disregarded our belongings and hastily left before completing the final inventory, leaving us with missing items and a tremendous sense of loss.

In Jan they were contracted to move my items through a brokerage. The move occurred but they lost my desk ($350 value). They spent 3 weeks looking for it without following up or contacting me. Brokerage gave me information to file a claim with the claims company. After a month of the moving company and claims company "figuring it out." The claim company returned with compensating me $55, at $0.6 a lb, and 93 lbs. I talked to the Claims Company they said the only thing they can do is adjust the weight. Brokerage company says all they do is find the movers and provide me with numbers. I got 5 numbers for Barahona's moving, 3 of them go to the same place and the guy said "yah we can't do anything, its the claims company responsibility" even though THEY LOST MY DESK AND FREELY ADMITTED TO IT AT DELIVERY, I have the receipts, invoice, and bill of laden showing the delivery person writing "LOST". 1 number someone answered and after hearing me say the name of their moving company hung up, and last number rang and went to voicemail. So I am out $300 and the only/next thing i can do is go to small claims which im not expending the effort to do. I read their reviews and saw people complain about this. So its my fault apparently for going through with using them. My advice is, if you use them, don't have them move anything you don't mind losing. I saw this in the reviews and luckly moved some other more valued items myself. This desk they lost was probably the most expensive item I had them move. Get a PODS or similar and pack it yourself, then just be careful about how you pack your stuff. Or sell your stuff and buy new stuff. The cost of the move isn't worth it and would be equivalent of just buying new stuff anyway. --------- Group who packaged my stuff, were conscious about packing and protecting it. Delivery group moved it well, they were just missing my desk and even apologized for it. The actual movers were good. They had to unload my stuff apparently in a warehouse and thats where I think the issue happened. Ironically enough, they offered me one day delivery at not extra cost because a customer who was using the rest of the truck paid for it. I couldn't do it because i wasn't going to be up there the next day so that probably required them shifting my stuff to a intermediate warehouse. The pick up group said they were assessing a "long haul" fee. Apparently they couldn't explain what that means and said it was a fee for going across the weigh stations. Brokerage, said "long haul" fee is assessed when the movers have to go more than a certain amount of feet from the back end of the truck to your front door. None of this was mentioned or said to me prior to me calling after the pickup and asking. All of the rest of interactions, customer service, communications were horrible.

The driver they have in the area of Albuquerque New Mexico driving truck number 04 was holding the fuel line hostage, when he was asked to move very nicely he flipped us off and told us to F our self. He was not even getting fuel or anything he was just parked in the fuel bay eating chips and kept repeating "waiting for my friend in store" but his friend was standing next to him also eating snacks. Flipping us off.. more then one 18 Wheeler had to back up to go around him and he continued to laugh and flip us off. DO NOT USE THIS MOVING SERVICE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

I recently moved, and the broker I used contracted Barahona's. Overall, I am grateful for the fast and efficient service they proided. They called me 24 hours prior to pickup and delivery, as well as when they were 30 minutes out each way. The pickup and delivery processes were both smooth. With just two men, they were able to quickly get it all done. The one thing I will say is that there was miscommunication about the delivery date. Now, I am not sure if this miscommunication was the fault of the broker or not, but I clearly stated that the earliest delivery date would be a month later. The broker had assured me that this would be ok, as they offer to store items for free for 30 days. This was also stated in the paperwork I signed, which Barahona's had in their possession (I verified this with the carbon copies). Nevertheless, I received a call from Barahona's within a few days saying that they were ready to deliver the items. I was not available, and this was several weeks before my earliest available delivery date, so they had to store the items at the city of delivery, instead. Although this was definitely a confusing hassle at first, I am still giving Barahona's a 5-star review because of how happy I am with the overall service they provided. They quickly problem solved the delivery issue, and when it was time to actually deliver my items to me, they were able to do so quickly. Thank you for an easy process!

UPDATE: We have tried REPEATEDLY to get in touch with someone at Barahonas. We've left numerous messages and after a while it appears our number is blocked & were unable to even leave any additional messages! It has now been TWO years, and still no one from Barahonas has called us. We paid to repair the damages they made and are highly doubtful they will ever reimbursed us for the damages (we submitted the bills to them via registered mail) which requires a signature as proof of receiving our receipts. All they post on Yelp as a response is for us to call them -- yet they won't pick up and they won't return our phone calls from the numerous messages we've left!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Here is our Yelp post: Based on our personal experience, STAY AWAY from using this company!!! We've moved over 10 times and have always used large companies. This time, we wanted to help out the smaller businesses stay in business during COVID. They arrived with the perfect size truck and everything fit perfectly, but we were informed that they had to transfer our items to their larger Mr& more reliable truck for the out of town travel. The larger truck was not available in time to arrive to our house for packing. So they had to repack our furniture (at their site) into the larger truck and the truck was to be "shared" with another household that was also moving out of town. While it is understandable to maximize the use of an out of town move, Our items were JAMMED into the back of the truck resulting in a lot of damage! We took inventory of the broken items (broken furniture, dented multiple items & lamps shades were crushed), repaired &/or replaced them, made copies of the receipts for reimbursement ($627.20!), and sent it registered mail. NO RESPONSE! We left messages and emails. We finally got in touch with their insurance adjuster. They reviewed our paperwork and said reimbursement would be $162!!!). We had no other choice but to take what they offered. When a check did not arrive, we contacted the adjuster again and they said their only job was to make a recommendation to the moving company! We tried numerous times to contact Barahonas and have NEVER received a reply! To date, we have NOT RECEIVED A PENNY!!! It has been 16 months since we've relocated!!! We would NEVER recommend this moving company!!! UPDATE: "Business owner" responded and said they can't find any record of our move (we even sent them a pkg containing 25 pages of receipts via REGISTERED MAIL and they can't find our record?!?) The business owner also provided a ph # to call. When I tried calling I get a message: "We are experiencing technical problems. Please call again later." How very ironic, can't even get through!!!! I even tried the number we often used to leave messages (they never seem to pick up their phone or call back!!!) UNBELIEVABLE.... Business owner information Photo of Barahona P. Barahona P. Business Owner Hello Ed, We are sorry about the situation you described. We had tried to look into our records but we could not find your name. Please give us a call to: (650) 489-9090 so we can help you out with this. Thank you! Barahona's Professional Moving & Storage LLC.
