Took our dog here for a neutering appointment, he was put under anesthesia & we were told they couldn't go forward with the neutering surgery since my dog had an undescended testicle (this required a separate surgery). I was surprised the team put him under anesthesia without checking! We were still charged for anesthesia even though no surgery was done. There were also several instances where we had asked for prescriptions to be sent to Chewy after our vet visits but our technicians would always send us home with meds from the clinic that were double the price of what was online.

Would not recommend this place. Veterinarian was unresponsive to my calls. Our dog died of suffocation.

While prices are just below corporate offices they have limited diagnosis capabilities No site labs, standard blood tests range $300 to $400, results average 3 day waite. Recently address systems only only to result in the death of entire litter of kittens.

I would recommend this clinic 100% !! I was desperately in need of a vet clinic for my English Bulldog due to some stomach issues. I called and the receptionist was so sweet to get me in same day. (It was for a drop off but I was totally fine with that because I knew my puppy needed the care asap) Once we arrived we were welcomed by some really sweet girls showing so much love to my baby. He didn't even care about me leaving him there lol he just walked on back there like he owned that place. Then I was called with the treatment plan by the doctor who explained everything so throughly and made me feel more at peace. We are now on meds and on the road to recovery thanks to Piedmont Hills Animal Hospital! They have now gained a new pet at their clinic! (Our previous vet we had been to only once and was not a fan- it was very outdated & dirty with blood stains on the lobby floor) and this hospital was sooo clean & modern!

I used to take my cats there. They have inexperienced staff. The vet does not care to explain if the pet is sick, provide care or suggest if additional care is needed. If you feel your pet may need attention beyond vaccines please do not go there.

It is with a heavy heart that I share this. Yesterday February 19, my dog Lyla of 14 years of age and in good health condition went in for a routine teeth cleaning at Piedmont Hills Veterinary Hospital in San Jose. She had no problem with teeth pain because she had no problem eating her dry kibbles. After her cleaning procedure was done the vet called my wife and stated that Lyla needed to have three teeth extracted one was a Moeller, my wife asked why and he said they were bad and we need to decide now because he couldn't keep Lyla under too long so my wife said ok. Not long after that procedure the vet called again and said they have been working on Lyla for 15 minutes now but didn't say why so my wife asked what he meant by that and he said they were administering CPR because Lyla had stopped breathing and passed there while in their care... The only explanation he gave us was he didn't know what happened and that to me is very unprofessional irresponsible and careless, even his assistant didn't know what happened but my gut feeling is Lyla was not monitored carefully. I took the teeth that were extracted and they looked fine all white... this broke our heart deeply. I'm not saying don't go there but but just be aware of our experience I don't wish this on anyone.

Summary: EXPENSIVE, INEXPERIENCED DR went here for my dog condition. Dr gave pain reliver and injection and ask to take it for 2 weeks and came back. Still no improvement so we went back. Dr ordered alot of tests but all results came negative. We spent thousands of dollars at this hospital for this and no conclusion at the end. The dr raised his hand and ask me to go to specialist. This dr doesnt know what's going on with the dog and gave up which is why he asked me to go to specialist. Before he sent me off he gave the reports and what he think from the test results--he said no disease but maybe something else. The specialist he recommend is a surgeon. We went to another regular dr for second opinion. Upon seeing my dog condition, this dr knew already what's going on but he needed to order the tests to confirm his diagnosis. He said my dog has the disease that piedmont's dr said no. So it was opposite answer so, he did the tests to confirm his diagnosis. Surely enough, all of the tests results gave the same answer as what he thinks it is. He said he have seen many cases like that before. This showed that this dr is experienced dr. He knows what he's doing. He also asked me why my dog fur not get shaved in the area where the procedure are. I said that's from piedmont hospital. He said this is the sterile procedure, need to do sterile way--shaved the fur, clean the area w/ sterile agent before the procedure. He just shaked his head when he heard that. To add: this hospital is very short staffed for the front office. You will wait for a longgg time in front just to get help.

I am not sure what has happened with this business but it isn't good. I had an emergency with my puppy and drove there only to be told there was no vet working that day. I used this vet with my previous pets and I liked them very much so this was unexpected. I called today 9/16/23 and the phone is answered with a very strange recording (blue successful).

Not sure what happened since I've been taking my dog here for the last decade (she is 15 now) . They seem to be CRITICALLY understaffed so if you're looking for a more personalized and attentive vet experience for yourself and your pet I HIGHLY suggest looking elsewhere. Would not recommend this place.

Took my dog twice she was breathing heavily. That's why I took her. They gave her a tranquilizer and I called back saying that she had reaction to the tranquilizer. They said the doctor will call me. They never called me. I made another appointment with Tama vets in Milpitas.

I highly recommend this veterinarian clinic to anyone. The doctors are knowledgeable and staff is great. I drive from Redwood City all the way to San Jose just to get my dog checked. Their expertise and care for my pet is exceptional. Prices are right.
