Angie , the owner has mad skills with hair, zen-like temperament and a friendly disposition !!I have been her client for nearly 15 years and have followed her everyplace she worked until she finally got this place . I am comfortable with her trust her with my hair / waxing needs like no other.She’s very patient and makes people feel comfortable.All the staff at this place are very warm and friendly. Its the best one !!

They are bookish hair stylists. They will style hair as they know but their hands will start shaking when customer suggests something for themselves. They get so argumentative on asking for customization haircut. I had been there twice and never going back again.

Beware of Angie, as she can be quite unpredictable. Based on my own and others' experiences, I strongly advise against taking a chance with her. Angie uses a powerful bleach that lifts quickly but severely damages your hair. Instead, I recommend paying extra to have your hair professionally done elsewhere. Unfortunately, I suffered significant hair loss and ended up with uneven color. Despite informing Angie about my hair's condition and history, she neglected to perform a strand test, resulting in an uneven and patchy outcome, with half of my hair gone. Instead of taking responsibility, Angie lacked proper manners, ethics, and honesty. She refused to admit her mistakes and even blamed me for the damage. She went as far as trying to hide the fact that my hair was falling off. I overheard her discussing the unevenness and hair loss with her staff, yet she still insisted on charging me the full price. Fortunately, I demanded at least a partial refund, allowing me to go to a different salon to fix her errors and get extensions. In all honesty, the least she could've done was apologize to me instead of blaming me for my hair and going off and everything would've been completely fine.I would like to acknowledge the two kind ladies who assisted me during this ordeal.They were simply following Angie's instructions, so I hold no blame against them.I attached photos of my uneven, patchy, half gone hair please take a look before you come here.

This is my go-to spot for a hair cut in San Jose. I've been going here off and on for decades. Ownership and some of the staff have changed, but I still get a quality cut for a reasonable price.

If I could give a negative star, I would. I wish Yelp would listen to customers when we say we want a negative star of a "ZERO" star. angie phan the owner shocked me today. She is fake nice. I had gone there many years ago under old, original owner, Lynn. Then I was in SF, and returned there about 2 months ago needing a hair after 4 months. She did a good job that 1st time returning under her ownership - I cut, colored and had a manicure (which was supposed to be $15 that she charged me for $25 but I did not care at that time). Then about 5.5 weeks ago, I went back just for a trim. She cut so crookedly that I actually called to tell her. All she said was "sorry." Nothing like "please come back and I'll straighten it out for you." That was OK - I let it slide. Today, I went for a body wave, and the haircutter cut LIKE A CENTIMETER, and she showed me to say "see it's only this much," less than 1/5th of my short fingernail. BUT she charged me $25 for a "HAIR CUT!!!" When I asked her why, angie said "it's for women's hair" "we always charge more for women's hair" and when I persisted that it was LIKE A CENTIMETER, she maintained it was a "$25 hair CUT" and said "if you don't like it you can go somewhere else." WHICH I WILL. She probably won't even read this, but I have to say, that is NO WAY to treat loyal customers, who tip well ($20/visit) for even cuts, and that's NO WAY to treat ANYONE!! She was really fake nice the 1st 2 visits. It's true, I WILL go elsewhere, because I just don't buy her fake niceness, and people will continue to go there because MEN'S haircuts are $15 AND the original owner, would have just said, "sorry I cut your hair crooked last time, let me trim for you today as a courtesy." I have had many cuts with old (original) owner many years ago. Now, this rude angie phan does not care about customer service. IF YOU WANT A GREAT HAIR CUT, DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE!! I will be asking my credit card company to NOT pay for that $25 so call "hair CUT"!!!! I hope you make a lot of money angie.

Came here for a straightening and they exceeded expectations. Their level of detail is unparalleled. Everyone was efficient and they made sure that I was comfortable every step of the way. I will definitely be back!

LADIES, IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HAIR, DO NOT COME HERE!!!! I genuinely do not understand how it is possible to cut hair this bad. I had hair almost to my waist all one length and one of the stylists there hacked away at it to oblivion. I have a MULLET now, all my front pieces of hair are all short and choppy. I have holes in my hair and long scraggly pieces here and there. And to top it off, the back of my hair is shaped like a lopsided upside down trapezoid.
