Don’t come here after work! The cheap management only has 1 checker and 1 self checkout lane open. I will not be coming back and pay their high prices when they can’t even let their customers check out in a reasonable amount of time at a very reasonable time to be grocery shopping.

*** Update 5/2024... Prices are higher, as might be expected, and those prices rival their competitor Sa****ay. I go here much less...

i normally come here every 2 months to buy frozen shrimp and the tall asian middle-aged guy that was working in the deli meat department was astonishingly rude. he needs an attitude check, but i guess when you are working minimum wage you are going to be angry at everything in life. that does not mean you take it out on other people.

I live around the corner from this Lucky's location, and my family and I have always had bad experiences here. In the past it was expired food and poor customer relations. The Safeway down the road is worth the extra few minutes drive. However, today, I worked a double and wanted to just grab my groceries, avoid interaction, and get home. I went to the self check out line (by mistake at first, as the lay out is very different). In the store shopping was myself and a handful of other customers. Nearly every self check out was empty, so I secluded myself to one in the corner as I generally do at Safeway. As I'm about to ring up my things, this teenaged boy ( with the popcorn hairsyle) yelled to me, "hey, you can't pay there, you have too many items!" At first, I thought he was joking with mr, but he takes his job as self check out monitor very seriously. If he had just approached me and quietly said, "hey, ma'am, would you mind to pay at the checkout stand instead?" I would have said, "sure, no problem ". But his tone and attempt at authority over me wasn't necessary. The other customers turned around and looked and I told him, "you know what, I can just shop somewhere else". As I walked away, he yelled at me, "thanks a lot, WOMAN." In a negative connotation as if it was supposed to be an insult. It was embarrassing. I did end up paying for my thi gs because i felt bad leaving my cart for others to have to return. However, this is my last visit to buy items at this location. Rare to encounter sexist remarks around here, and if that it someone's child, i hope he learns to handle customer relations better with some time and maturity.

This used to be a great store but they don’t have enough people working here to handle the customer volume.

To the cashier this morning, sorry that you may be having a bad morning, but you don't need to be shaking your head at me. I came in to buy ice and the self checkout was saying I was out of printer paper. You acted like it was my fault and were super rude that I asked for help. Lucky, please redirect your workers or at least higher more nice people.

I got the birthday cake for my son's birthday. I originally was going to order a regular white cake from Safeway and decorate it myself. Fortunately I checked out lucky bakery when I was running errands around the area. Katrina, the cake decorator, was amazing. She kindly walked over when she saw I was looking around and suggested many ideas of how to decorate the cake after I told her about my theme. She's confident and creative so I trusted her and placed the order. I paid merely $50 for a 10" cake and 24 cupcakes. My friends couldn't believe I got the cake from lucky. The cake was exactly what I wanted and the cupcakes matched the cake as well. I will come back for my future orders

First time in this store, I was very impressed. Selection is very nice, actually went to get a product I couldn't find elsewhere. Any time I am close I plan to stop in.

Worst self checkout ever. There is no bag available at the self checkout. Why?!Your product quality is good. Don’t let some plastic bags ruin your business.

I went to buy 2 Amazon cards for my 2 friends' birthdays. They told me that they can't sell gift cards. I will never go there again.

Honestly, if I could give this Lucky California location zero stars I would. The self check out is a disaster. Deli is horrid. My mom and I would constantly be returning expired products to the store from the deli. Plus the meat department has an awful smell to it. The meat and seafood in the meat department are absolute low quality. The milk we would purchase would often have to be returned because of spoilage. The produce is often rotten and isn't rotated enough. They definitely don't know how to work the threes a crowd deal they promote. Most of all the management only cares about themselves and the OVERALL BOTTOM LINE. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS STORE AT ALL WHATSOEVER!

Prices have been so insane we went here instead of our normal market. It felt a little pricier than our normal spot. Over $8 for a box of cereal as an "Everyday Low Price"?! Those grahams better actually be really golden. If they had a clearance rack (general or bakery), I didn't see it. The only advantages to Lucky besides the "Three's a Crowd" policy and not having maddening app-dependent sale prices, were that they carry jalapeno ketchup and generic Hostess pies, and their cake selection was pretty good. I'm not surprised to see positive bakery comments in recent reviews. That takes the cake. If you see a guy with jalapeno ketchup on his blackberry pie, say HI!
