Was not able to go inside because they're only open for one hour on Sundays. Granted we should have checked the hours, but we drove all the way from Monterey and were very disappointed. After reading other reviews, I'm very happy to have found Renee's Exotic Parrots near Salinas instead. He doesn't post the address publicly but it has a much better vibe to it.

I am very disappointed with my purchase from this pet supplies store. I bought what Louis confirmed as two male cockatiels, only to discover after a vet check that both are female. This misrepresentation has caused not only financial loss but also a disruption in my plans. The store has not been cooperative in resolving this issue. I urge potential buyers to be cautious when dealing with this business to avoid similar experiences.

This place really deserves 0 stars. We went in to look for a companion for our cockatiel. Which I might add, we are very experienced bird owners. Upon entering we were greeted but the guy kept breathing down our necks, grabbed the bird in a way that no bird should ever be handled and then tried to tell us how to hold it so it doesn’t bite. AS HE WAS BEING BITTEN BY THE BIRD. He also offered us $10 off the bird. I could tell he was desperate to make a sale. Also I think I recall hearing him say the birds were wild caught, but I could be wrong. Don’t waste your time here.

I am quite literally sickened by what I saw in this store. I am not a bird snob. I am all for birds being accessible. But the conditions these birds are living in are absolutely abusive and abhorrent. I couldn’t even go in there to buy my bird a toy because I felt sick to my stomach supporting such a business. I heard the owner say “no photos” (likely because it’s so abusive and he knows it) as well as he asked a customer if they want a bird who “has color, or a bird who bites” this is an extreme red flag for anyone who knows literally anything about birds. I took some photos to show just how awful it is. He even seemed to have just clipped a macaws feathers off and left them on the floor in the store. Do not go here.

I’m from out of town and stumbled upon this place today. These birds are very well taken care of and loved by the owner. It shows! He answered my question about Indian ring-neck vs. parrotlets. I honestly had to turn down my purchase because I did not expect him to have parrotlets! I can see how his strong personality can be misinterpreted into something negative, but the owner is looking out for these babies and the shop. His passsion is out of love. I most definitely plan on coming back!

I bought a Indian ringneck beautiful bird Louis was very nice he gave me a very good price not a lot of people will do that he is a great guy and really knows his birds he takes care of them really good recommend this spot a lot and told me tha when ever I need to clip his wings to take him he’ll do it for free not a lot of people offer that really recommend it a lot ??

I purchased a beautiful albino canary a couple of hours ago. He’s already singing beautifully. Louie is friendly and of course, can answer any and all questions regarding his birds. Very nice experience.

Found our dream bird here. From tiny rare finches to majestic macaws, the selection here is truly breathtaking. Louis is knowledgeable, patient, and truly passionate about his bird babies.
