I recently went on a whim and booked with Alexis making her the 4th esthetician I've given a try for a facial and she's the only one I have plans on returning to. She made sure I was 100% comfortable and was super accommodating to any needs and adjustments I needed to ensure I would have the best first experience. This is the first time I can wholeheartedly say that I was 120% relaxed and at ease. Her booking website is super transparent and easy to navigate and book with and she's super helpful in terms of helping me if I need something that's not on the website and she's super quick. I had such a comforting and great session with her and she has an amazing aura that made her super welcoming and easy to talk to, it was hard deciding to talk to her the whole time or keep quiet and enjoy my facial haha. Will be returning soon asap!!!

I love going to Alexis sugar waxes on my underarms. I can definitely tell that the hair grows back a lot thinner and I can go longer inbetween appointments.

I hadn't gotten a Brazilian wax in years and I was so nervous. I decided to try sugaring since I have sensitive skin and it's more natural. Alexis, made me feel so comfortable and although it is a painful service she made every effort to make it as tolerable as possible. She is very knowledgeable and I am so glad I trusted the process because I am seeing the results. And it is getting less painful each visit. She is also hilarious and super sweet!

I get a sugar Brazilian waxes with Alexis. She is very professional, friendly, and accommodating. I moved from SoCal looking for a new waxer and I didn't bother to try anyone else because I always leaving satisfied with the service she provides!

I got my hair done by Debbie recently and I cannot express how much of a wonderful experience I had! She has so much experience coloring hair and you know you are in the right hands. She is friendly, kind and easy to talk to so it made 6 hours fly by very quickly. I hadn't dyed my hair in over a year so it was grown out, with some blonde at the ends and I wanted to achieve a grayish-lavender color and Debbie did not disappoint! Debbie even took the time to show me a few options to see what I would like best before she added in the color, which I really appreciated. I am so happy with how it came out and I cannot see myself going to anyone else for any hair needs that I have. Thank you so much Debbie, I am looking forward to the next time I get my hair colored and possibly trying out new colors with you! Overall, the staff is very friendly here. And to add to my review, I get my eyebrows laminated and waxed by Alexis and she is absolutely fantastic! I've been going to Alexis for some months now and WOW, she really made me love my eyebrows again! The way I was doing by eyebrows was a bit out dated before I booked my first appointment with Alexis, but once she was done with me I was like "wow, this makes so much more sense!" Lol, Alexis has a warm personality and whenever I go in for an appointment with her, I know it's going to fly by because we can just talk about anything and everything! And I expect a lot of laughter as well. She's like my eyebrow bestie so I am always looking forward to my next appointment with her and highly recommend anyone to go check her out! Thank you Kaizen Salon! You all are amazing!

Love this salon! Alexis is the best for all things waxing! She does a fantastic job and walks you through each step. She makes you feel right at home and pretty soon you will be laughing with her like she's one of your besties! Do yourself a favor and book an appointment with Alexis and you won't be disappointed!!

Evie is soooooooo awesome! Honestly this is the best highlight job that I have ever had! I have been to many salons that only do partial highlights on me. Evie helped me by doing a full highlight at a blonde level that would go best with my skin tone. She is very experienced and knowledgeable. It's nice when you can get an honest opinion from a stylist expert. I constantly get compliments! Thanks Evie!!! Your the best!!!

2019: still coming faithfully to Debbie, now at her new location! I've added photos, the new location is just a block from the old one, and is amazing!2017: My daughter and I have been coming to Debbie for over 6 years, and we'll keep coming! Clean salon, no issues with street parking in Japantown. Prices are very reasonable, which has allowed me and my daughter flexibility to experiment -- natural colors for me, and vibrant primary colors for my 13 yr old. She's always open to feedback, and works hard to meet our expectations. We've both had long hair, and very short styles. Atmosphere is professional, but casual; not pretentious. They have complete lines of products for purchase, and there's a nail station now, as well (I haven't tried the nail tech, so I don't know about those services or prices). Generally things run on schedule -- of course any salon can back up when clients are late, so if you're in a hurry, let her know at the start of your appt -- I've always been accommodated as requested. I always set my next appt before leaving, so I'm not sure how far in advance you should book. If I have a want-it-now need (or more likely my daughter) she can generally take me the same week. Love Debbie, love the other ladies, too, as they can tag team if we're in a hurry!
