The IMAX Dome Theater at the Tech Interactive in San Jose offers a unique and immersive movie experience. Visitors love watching films like "Interstellar" and "Dune Part 2," describing it as feeling like they are part of the movie rather than just watching on a screen. The dome-shaped theater creates the sensation of witnessing the scenes in real life, making the experience mesmerizing and truly different from regular theaters. The sound quality is often praised as crisp, clear, and great for those who are hard of hearing, with subtitles available for added accessibility. Many visitors find the visual experience impressive, with some noting that it feels like being almost inside the movie, especially during spectacular productions like documentaries about blue whales or space. However, some reviews mention that not all movies are suitable for the dome, such as regular movies that are stretched and distorted, which can detract from the experience. The theater is located within the Tech Interactive Museum, which offers fun activities for all ages, making it a good spot for families, kids, and adults alike. The concession stand has minimal offerings, and some find the sound too loud for young children, so bringing headphones may help. Overall, the IMAX Dome Theater is highly recommended for its immersive visuals and sound, providing a memorable experience that stands out from traditional cinemas.
Amazing place but the movie we saw (Apollo 13) was an older movie and some parts of the movie made me a bit nauseous.

Loved watching interstellar here. I’m waiting for top gun marathon to be pictured here again. Would love to go back and watch it in the dome

We went to see Twisters there thinking it would be an IMAX experience, but it was a regular movie projected on the IMAX dome, which made the movie look all distorted and stretched out. Would not recommend. Also the concession stand was very minimal, the popcorn was not very good.
