I bought a Westinghouse Inverter-generator from this Home Depot. I had a number of problems trying to get it going, and Westinghouse sent me to one of their service reps in the area. But they didn't get it fixed either. As I looked at it, I began to believe that the unit had been sent back from someone else - no documentation/registration materials, oil and gas residue in the generator, mixed screw type on a service panel, etc. So I decided to take it back to Home Depot. I called and the young lady said they would take it back. But when I got there today, the clerk checked with the manager and was told they don't take back generators. IT IS STORE POLICY THAT THEY DON"T TAKE BACK ANY GENERATORS. I have never seen that written out anywhere. So my recommendation is just not to buy ANY generators from Home Depot.

Been coming here for years. Service used to be horrible but it's definitely improved over the years. A little shortness doesn't bother me anyway. It's a hardware store, not Saks...Wish they had a better selection of plants but it's still serviceable.

Could not get assistance with tool rental or purchase. Spent over 20 minutes this morning to see if they have what I am looking for. Receptionist lady transferred me. Heard more clicks. After several minutes, I was rerouted back to same receptionist who transferred me back. Rang for about a minute, then a click with silence for about four minutes. I hung up and called back. Phone rang for over five minutes. Then silence. Receptionist did say anything this time. Did not ask if I could wait on hold for an unspecified amount of time. She put me on silent hold without saying anything.Called back. Phone rang for two minutes. Then a click and they disconnected me. I guess they got tired of putting me on hold and figured I'd get the message if they hung up on me. I got the message. You don't want me to call. Why are they so rude? I did not say or do anything rude at all. But I do not want to drive 20 minutes to home depot if they don't have what I want.

Got a sealed Ryobi Sander from shelf only to find out it is an open box item after arriving home...there is no label or what so ever saying it is open box, but it is all dirty and dusty. When I try to leave a review, my review to this store from years ago popped up guess what - same thing happened years ago - second time they sold us open box item...Home Depot San Jose store, you need to stop putting returned/open box item back on the shelf or at least put labels on them!!!

Incompetently run store. I ordered something online for pickup at this store. Received the email to pick it up. I drove to the store and parked at curbside pick-up and used the email link to notify them I arrived. It was 5:15 pm. Got a call then that the item was in their receiving area but it's locked at 5 pm. I wasted a trip to this incompetently run store. I'm thinking of canceling my order and just ordering the item from Lowe's instead.

I spend a fair amount of time at Home Depot. I have to say, this lady Galen in paint is awesome. Worked her rear off while super busy. Constant interference from customers but she was able to multitask and do it well. Thanks lady. For working well and keeping your sanity.Good job.

During this pandemic I was told that the promotion I was on would be extended 2 months because of the hardship people were experiencing. The promotion was for no interest for 6 months. But they never did take the interest off. I call every month and every time I'm told something different, like "oh, the interest you were charged will be taken off next month" or "oh, that expired" or "let me explain why you do not qualify for the hardship even though we told you last month you were" and on and on. They just make it up as they go along. I will avoid this store whenever I can in the future and I have already cut up the credit card.

I guess I have to like Home Depot as a hardware store but they have some policies that treat customers like garbage. My dad got injured by a falling ladder that they didn't secure and rather than call for medical aid they tried to get him to fill out report forms and liability waiver forms while he was concussed. They basically told him they couldn't call for aid unless he signed something saying they were not at fault because they didn't want to be liable for his injuries. It wasn't even factually contestable they were of course at fault for failing to use the simple guard cord they're supposed to have to prevent stored ladders from falling forward. They would rather someone bleed out on their floor than call an ambulance and potentially admit to fault. Had to hire PI attorneys just to get basic medical costs covered.

Donovan's COVID Chronicles continues!Home Depot's in the Southbay are very "hit or miss" unfortunately. This location is a complete dud!First of all, they put you on hold for extended amounts of time and they don't always pick up the phone (you can try this yourself if you want - just ask to be transferred to the "Customer Service" Desk. Ironically, it makes sense that the phone is never picked up because the customer service is non-existent.I recently had a delivery issue (where they literally left the product on the street). I paid for drop off at a job site and they left 350lbs of product in the wrong place. The store never offered a solution for it despite me paying for a delivery fee. Trying to resolve the issue with the store was like attempting to teach a dog to play the piano. My last interaction with this place is what inspired this review: An employee was coughing non stop all over the place, no mask or anything. Touching phones and registers and all...in spite of everything going on (umm like say a PANDEMIC) and heightened concern for safety, it really did symbolize this store and how they treat customers...they don't give a (insert your favorite profanity of choice) AVOID! This place is a dump unless you enjoy bad attitudes!

Isabel. Avoid Home Depot. Isabel is the reason why you don't go to Home Depot. It's during CoVid-19 and simply wanted to spruce up my garden. It was 6:30am on Wednesday May 6th 2020. Home Depot had hanging plants on display hanging outside the store. The sign said $15.88. I bought two. I also put several tomatoes in my cart as well. I walked inside, since it was very early in the AM I walked in wearing my mask with no line. I proceeded to the garden area where I also put several other plants in my cart. Surprised when I saw a long line for check-out. However it went fairly quick. Isabel waved me over for self check-out. All 4'11" of her. Although it was self checkout, Isabel was still scanning my plants. First thing I said was "I love your rhinestone butterfly pin". No response. Instead...she was a little rude ordering me behind the glass or plexiglass. This was all new to me however I followed her orders. Reminder this is about 6:30 am. After Isabel added up the total I see on the cash register my plants added to $19.99 each. I told her the two hanging plants are $15.88 not $19.99. Isabel snappy reply: "so you don't want them?My reply: "No I did not say that. The price is $15.88 and that is what I will pay"Isabel snappy reply: "Well that is what it rings up. That is what you have to pay" My response: "Then I want to speak to a Manager"Her flippant reply: "why do you think it is $15.88 when it rings up $19.99"My response: "The sign said $15.88. That is what I will pay"Her demanding order response: "Show ME"(That's it, just two words demanding)We both left the cart and proceeded outside to front of store where I got the plants. At one point I got stuck behind a guy pushing very long beams of wood. Isabel turned around and scoffed "Hurry Up"We went to plants and sure enough she starts talking to guy who was restocking the plants and there was a sign that said $15.88. I said "here is the sign $15.88". She said "well it's $15.88 yesterday and it's $19.99 today. "My response "Isabel, the sign is out and it says $15.88, by law that is how much I am going to pay"Isabel then turned to young worker and demanded rudely in Spanish using an order "you should know better, next time take off sale sign"She had a annoyed attitude. So as we were walking back inside I asked her the following questions " Why are you so rude? Why are you carrying such an attitude? Why do you think you can be snotty to your customers? Was it something I said that got you annoyed or are you always this way? Do you know me from some where and don't like me? Or do you always talk to your customers this way? After I called her out on it she was speechless and started helping another person. I made sure I walked up to her and got her name on her name tag. And I told her she was rude. I also told Security Guard Isabel needs an attitude adjustment. My Mexican grandmother would have loudly chewed Isabel out for having such an attitude. I did not use anger, however I was very direct in letting her know what I thought of her. I am my grandmothers daughter.

To the gentleman whose name tag said William- I can't thank you enough!! My dog scratched up the corner of my front door so bad that the paint and layer of wood came out. My dad comes home tomorrow and I didn't want him to be upset so I was desperate for a quick fix. I was able to save some of the wood pieces and had initially planned to buy wood glue and stick them back on and paint over it. I called prior and the man on the phone said the paint would be about $35 alone for a qrt. I really didn't even need that much for this project. Luckily, I came across William when I arrived. I explained my situation and he told me exactly what do so that I could patch the damage properly and even it out so it can look good as new. I didn't even need wood glue (the handy ones reading this are probably laughing at me now)!! I only spent 15 bucks and left confident that I could get the job done. Thank you William for being so helpful and kind! I had a great experience at this Home Depot because of you!
