One of the best places in the bay to get feed for barn animals, and also some specialty too ( I saw gorilla/ape when I was walking around). I usually get chicken and goat feed here, and the prices are great. Staff is always super helpful, there also a cute cat to play with too

We were SCAMMED on the chicks sold by this store. Last July we saw they have female Olive egger listed on their website,so we drove hours to buy 5 chicks for $13 dollars each on difference visits. We spend time and money raising them. Few months later we started to realize the chicks don't looks right. 4 of them turned out to be roosters (male), they crow loudly . And they are completely different breed called Cochin which is giant. 1 of them died. We wasted all year with no egg yield and have to wait until next summer season to buy new chicks. This is not a trust worthy store. I would not recommend anybody wasting your money and valuable time shopping here.

This a great feed store. They don't carry leashes and cat beds. They carry top of the line feed for all kinds of pets. I will be back.

Horrible customer service. The young lady could not help with pricing of large bags of shelled peanuts. She has to call her boss to answer simple questions. I don't know why they can't have clearer communication with customers. It was a very frustrating experience. They also charge extra if you use a credit card and I must add their prices are high. We used to shop at An Jan in Santa Clara before they had to close. We wanted to continue to shop local but they need better organization and an employee in there that is passionate about promoting and loving this place and it's customers like Sams used to be for years and years.

Excellent service, decent prices (for Silicon valley). Saved me a trip to Gilroy for chicken food.

This feed and pet supply store had something odd that I needed. It was a 42lb bag of pine pellets. The price was terrific, less than $10. They also had a very sweet "house cat" that let me pet her and hold her. I will be back when I need to buy some more pellets. -J

I always try to support the small local businesses. Friendly staff, helpful helpers to load the items. It is a litter pricey compared to Amazon or other business but if I can I will support Small businesses.

Nice to have a local place to get chicken food! This place has the feel of an old time farm and feed.

Sadly, Sam's Downtown Feed closed and so is An Jan's. I needed somewhere to buy all my hen supplies. They have it all here. Great staff too! Reasonable prices and great selection. So happy they are here in San Jose.

DEAD baby chicks! They have metal galvanized tubs with live chicks for sale and there were several dead ones lying lifeless on the ground, being stepped on. I mentioned it to the man working there and he said, “Yeah well I’ve been a little busy. I’ll get to it.” ? Do not buy chickens from here, as it encourages this type of repeat behavior by the store owners. Very sad and disappointing to see this. ?

We needed some straw for our vegetable garden. They loaded my truck. Love this place. Dog food and toys as well.

For all gardeners out there, this place is great for your straw mulch needs. They have full bales if you need or smaller boxes. Much cheaper than the nursery. They have other stuff for your pet's and animals as well, but highly recommend if you need hay or straw.

The front of the store is recovering from the fire and now has stock. Well supplied with chick and chicken supplies like feeders, waterers, grit, treats, etc. Really shaping up compared to a few months ago. Since Sam's is gone we have been going here. Access is tough as the entrance drive is hard to spot. Make hard turn when you see the murals to get in the lot. Pay in front then go back to the barn and give the receipt to the staff in the barn. I fell off the step between the storefront to the barn as did not see it. The lighting there was funny, maybe the time of day with the sun shining into the barn. They need to paint a safety stripe or post a warning sign. You could easily break an ankle. They load for you and they seem to always have stock. Staff could be friendlier, they just seem to tolerate customers.
