Great location. Has a bit of a boutique feel to it. Rooms are clean but very small and tight. The main waiting areas are decorated nicely but there does not seem to be an easy flow to the place. No amenities to speak of. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Not sure if it was because I was exhausted, but there did not seem to be alot of street noise. We came in for a funeral so we did not do alot of research and this worked out fine. There is paid parking around the side of the building. It is walking distance to many restaurants and venues. Conveniently located near the airport area. It was odd that the staff was dressed like they just walked in off the street, super casual. I did not realize that they were staff, at first.Rooms: Super small but clean. No real comfortable seating. One uncomfortable chair.Nearby activities: Close to the arena so can be walked during the day. Definately recommend a taxi in the evening.Walkability: Walking to restaurants and coffee within a few blocks.Food & drinks: Some snacks at front reception area. There is a restaurant in the building but not open for breakfast.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The internet was free the room was nice and the staffs were friendly. Especially comparing to other 3 star hotels around the neighborhood this place is a deal!

The good, the bad and the ugly: We booked an ADA room for the weekend for our first trip to San Jose. The location was great - right downtown and close to everything. The woman at the front desk was kind and helpful and gave us a room on the second floor right above the restaurant where we had an acceptable, though unremarkable meal before going up to bed. Our first concern was that once the sofa bed was folded out, the wheelchair user could no longer exit the room in their chair. We decided to just hope for the best. Instead we got a pounding bass that literally shook the bed from a massive dance party in the restaurant below. At midnight, after over 2 hours of desperately trying to sleep, I went to request a new room. The woman at the front desk found us one on the 3rd floor at the back of the hotel as far from the racket as possible. To reach it, the wheelchair user had to leave his wheelchair behind in the first room and cruise along the walls to the elevator and up to the new room because we didn't want to wake our friend sleeping on the sofa bed (8 hours of jet lag can apparently allow you to sleep through nearly anything.). The next day, the supercilious man at the front desk informed me that they would be charging us for two rooms for the previous night since one of party had remained in the room! I told him I wouldn't be paying for the room and he argued that if one person had been able to sleep in it, it was clearly a problem with us and not the room. From my point of view, we'd been put in a room that was not of merchantable quality. No one should pay to stay in a hotel room that is unfit for sleeping. I spent the rest of the day sleeping in the new room and didn't get to see much of San Jose. Fortunately, the big party the next night, didn't shake the third floor room. Sunday night the restaurant was closed. Takeaway: a good place to stay on a Sunday night or if you don't plan to go to bed before 3am on other days.Noteworthy details: Man at the front desk specializes in adding insult to injury.

Old property that has been renovated. Needs renovation again. Walls are very thin. Hopefully you don’t have a party in the room next to you like I did. Front desk took care of it when asked, but the cracktivity ruined my nights rest. Staff are kind. Location is decent and walkable to plenty. Those elevators are pretty aged and could use a renovation soon.

I think this company needs to step up and look at the demographics of who is actually travelling these days. Checked in and was told there was ONE complimentary bottle of water. C’mon .. two people in the room and you can’t give us each a bottle of water. Some may say this is nit picking, but really.. are we supposed to share? It’s not like these rooms are $50 a night. We’re paying good money at what I believed was a high end hotel. The least you can do is provide a bottle of water for each person checked into the room!!Now the room… we booked a King Size .. nice, spacious.. looks remodeled.. but again, the toilets?? What is with these hotels that remodel but leave the old toilets that you may as well be sitting on the floor. They are that low to the ground. There are people in this world who are over 5’5! If you’re not going to install tall toilets, you best be installing grab bars so we tall people can get off of them.If you’re coming to see a hockey game, this hotel is adequate.Hope the sister hotel in San Francisco has more to offer.

The hotel itself is fine, albeit with very small rooms. It's the incredibly loud location it's in. It's right next to a busy train station that dings twice every time a train pulls up, which is like every 30 minutes. The windows are so incredibly thin and old that they do absolutely nothing to sound-proof. The sounds trains, the loud people from the bars nearby, the cars driving by are so amplified that it's impossible to sleep without being woken up constantly.

For what we were in town for, the location was perfect, within walking distance of the venue we were going to. Room was comfortable, not enough outlets close to nightstands to charge phones, etc, had to unplug their "old fashioned" phone in order to charge my phone. The worst part was that the service at the front desk was the most horrid we ever experienced. We arrived at 5 p.m., after "check in time" and were told the room was not ready because someone checked out late. The woman who initially took care of us was very kind, she got us drink tickets and stored our luggage while we waited. She went ahead and ran our credit card for the usual expected deposit for incidentals. Then, we went to wait in the bar - thankfully, it was still quiet. After a half hour or more, no one came to tell us the room was ready or anything so I walked back over to see and I wish I had gotten the man's name as he was so rude. "We already told you it was not ready yet ....." and THEN he looks at their computer and says, "Oh, it's ready ...." No apology etc. THEN, he asks for my card again to "run the deposit for incidentals" , I said the other woman already did that. He argued that it was not done yet. I pulled up my account on my phone and showed him the "pending charge" to Four Points Sheraton for 100$. He said, "That's not charged yet, it says "pending", we need to run the card..." I told him and showed him that the 100$ had been deducted already and "on hold", he kept insisting that it had not been charged yet and then finally said "Whatever" and treated me dismissively.THEN, he yelled at the other young woman working there to get the other woman back (the one who had nicely helped us already) - loudly, in front of us and other guests, "Go get her back in here before I fire her!! I work in a customer service job, I don't care what kind of day you've had, you don't DO that EVER in front of paying customers/guests.First woman comes back to finish our check-in process. He must have told her some nonsense and she asked for our card again, I said she already did that and she said, "Yes, they need to do it again so that it shows up on their end ...." That made NO sense, since it had already been subtracted on our end!GUESS WHAT - now we had TWO charges for 100 on our card, listed as pending, BUT the money was deducted on hold. So now we have 200 dollars LESS available to us instead of only 100.We waited until check out the next day to mention the double charge even though I knew that the money would go back in a few days, I just wanted them to be aware of the mistake! The original man SAW me and rolled his eyes. He sent another man to speak to me - he treated me like an idiot, explaining how banks and "pending charges" work - I KNOW how a bank works, I wanted to know why they had to charge us twice for the 100$ hold. He just kept repeating how the money would be back in 2 to 3 days. I said, "I UNDERSTAND that, but it should have been only 100 put on hold to us, NOT 200 ..."It was not correct, they were very rude and what I really expected was an APOLOGY - like "sorry, we made a mistake and ran that deposit twice, sorry for any inconvenience"NEVER encountered such rudeness at ANY hotel. It was appalling. It's sad that the Marriott name is attached to this location. I wish I had noted their names but I didn't expect them to be so rude and condescending and that caught me off guard. It put a bad mark on our entire experience over all.Others beware of their attempts to charged the deposits more than once.

Really great staff and really good housecleaning.....but .....the rooms are pretty dated, and mine had a certain "ick" factor.....was expecting something more for $450 a night. Also, my first and last time staying in downtown san jose.

Our stay here was good for the most part. The location is excellent, and well within walking distance to lots of restaurants. The room was quite small, but nicely updated and clean. The water pressure was pretty weak, and you can hear the metro as it runs right next to the hotel, but that didn't really bother us. I found the pillows way too soft with no support, and I requested additional pillows. It took about a day to track down some new pillows, and I had to follow up with the staff. The staff were very friendly and helpful for the most part. It is an older hotel that is in the process of being updated. Parking is expensive ($40), but it's to be expected for the downtown location. The elevators are quite slow. The value for the stay was still worth it in my opinion though.

1) This hotel is next to a high traffic metro line, when the metro runs and you hear the ding-dong. The room on the metro side is not sound proof and you hear it clearly2) After few hours from checking in and in the middle of night, the room started to smell gas and exhaust fumes. I called the front desk and i was given room next to metro line. I could not sleep.3) Next morning, I asked for a different and the manager said, he will take of it and I will have different. When I came in the evening, the different manager said "he can not give me a different room because he can not find anyone to clean the room". He was not making any attempt to being helpful.

Location is very convenient, older hotel but is being upgraded. Enjoyed having a restaurant in the hotel, but it needs some help. Food was OK, but service was spotty at best. Hopefully will be better on my next

Honestly worst hotel experience. Room/location is great. The front desk lady was full of lie and waited to have customer to go down to get the items they requested. She said she forgot about my room number after I called front desk numerous time with no one answered and eventually use my Marriott app to call and then instantly picked by someone from the front desk. When I went down to get my requested items, she said she didn’t remember. Not sure what I can expect from this hotel. Oh there is a bar down there so it was so LOUD!

This hotel is in downtown San Jose, this is the only highlight. This is the second worst hotel room that I have ever been at. The room was shabby and run down. There was minimal furniture in the room and what little there was, was very uncomfortable. The bed was so uncomfortable that we bought a mattress topper for the duration of the stay.To make things worse, the front desk was exceptionally unhelpful and acted as though they have never accomodated a business traveler before. They complained and showed frustration at the simple act of producing an itemized invoice.Rooms: Poorly outfitted and uncomfortable to the extreme
