We arrived 1 minute before the performance due to a transportation mixup and were treated very sympathetically. We sat way high in the balcony, which was actually excellent for seeing and hearing.

I've been going to the San Jose Symphony performances at the California since it was reopened in 2004. The first night I was there I sat next to a gentleman whose mother took him to see movies there in the 1930s!There theater is beautiful on the inside and had great acoustics.

Such a beautiful old worldly place. Perfect for operas,stage shows and movies. It is very well maintained and the staff is very friendly and polite. Went there as part of a yelp event and was blown away by the place.

The California Theater, located right in downtown San Jose, is a great place to see a show! I saw a Tech Roast and was on the first floor, which had pretty good seats. Audio is great as well! The entire location is GORGEOUS. The tasteful decorations and ambient lighting elevates your experience. There are clean, standard bathrooms on site, and the staff is very welcoming and lovely. They will keep your food and help you get to your seat while being chatty and friendly.

This was my first time on California Theatre and I'm really happy I got to visit it! The inside of the theatre was so beautiful and clean. The movie premiere I got to watch was "Breakwater" and it was quite a good movie, followed by interviews with the people who worked on the movie. I loved everything about this experience even though had some issues with scanning the tickets to get in. The after-party was a lot of fun as well: starting with a great location, very nice staff, and ending with really good food and nice DJ. I'd love to come back again

First time visiting the California Theatre. Walking in, you could the historic decor and grand nostalgia of it all.Before the movie showed, we were entertained by an organist who played some old familiar tunes. Wonderful place to come enjoy some shows, plays, musicals, or films.Concession stands are limited and pricey. $6 for a 16.9fl oz soda or bottled water.

Come here periodically for dance and performing arts performances. Pretty good seating arrangements, the acoustic quality is really good and the location is top notch. There are two entrances- one in market street and another on first street. Contrary to people's suggestions, the nearest and cheapest parking spot is the Southhall parking lot on San Salvador and Almaden. If you want a covered parking, you can try the convention center parking lot, but I have found it overcrowded and hard to find parking spots when other events are happening at the same time. Would definitely recommend attending shows here
