My partner & I are longtime customers here - it all started when we bought an e-bike for daily commuting and then suddenly we've been here pretty regularly for tune ups and repairs and the like for a couple of years now. I love Bicycle Express, they're a downtown San Jose staple in my opinion. Everyone is so friendly! Karen, Charles & Junior are great to chat with about anything from the latest in bike technology to the best dog breeds, and the bike mechanics in the back always make me laugh with their banter. The team here are definitely passionate about the business, bikes, and accessibility to anyone who wants to ride! They will even call manufacturers and retailers to get you the best deal and source any replacement parts directly. It's actually thanks to their rental program I learned how to ride a bike, so now I can finally catch up to my partner on rides around town, haha! Thanks BE for being so awesome, from purchasing to tune ups, popped tires, motor repairs, and more!

Changed the sprocket from 18 tooth to 16 tooth and since this bike has a vertical dropout I could not pull it back to tighten the chain. Junior was able to fix the chain slack by removing some links and moving the eccentric bottom bracket.

I came here because I needed a new inner tube for my scooter. I tried doing it myself at first, but man was it hard. They weren't sure if they had the right part at first but they ended up having it and were able to install it for me! They even gave some pointers for doing it myself next time, but honestly I liked this place so much I'll probably just have them do it again next time. Can't say enough good things about this place!

The prices were great! I bought 2 break pads for my bike and they were so much cheaper then what I paid for near where I live in San Francisco. Definitely will take the train just to shop here again in the future!!!

Hands down one of the friendliest places with some of the friendliest people, especially the owner who’s so warm and welcoming. I wanted to do a frame swap, and they not only did it for half the price of what most other bike repair shops quoted, but they also had my bike ready within 24 hours because I told how difficult it was for me to commute to work without my bike. This is easily going to be my go-to place for bike repairs from now on.

I went to get a couple of tubes for my bike & the lady's attention was terrible I felt harassed when they mentioned that I could steal something from the store, when in reality I was just looking for some spare parts for my bike then they charged me in a bad way and it was over a terrible service.

Bought a rear mountain bike derailleur and two spokes. They make the spokes right there on the property and they were very knowledgeable about getting me a good derailer that can replace my old one with better performance. I definitely recommend the store.
