I am so disappointed. I booked the first time visit says its free, i assumed that it would be applied to that specific appointment when i booked. guess what? after the visit it was not free. The lady said i didnt mention it. But who makes a promotion that only applied if you mention it. they didnt even ask. i called back hoping to get a refund. She said her manager couldn’t do anything since it’s been done. i dont believe that.I was hoping that they would do something but they didnt. what a really bad customer service . I suggest bring your pet somewhere else. hours just for a check up. lack of understanding your customers is a bad business. Good luck!

I went to this location for a little over a year, only because when I first adopted my dog they were the nearest location who had a first time appointment within two days. Anyway whenever I would have appointments with them it would always be about 2-3 hours and at the time I thought it was normal since it was my first time owning a pet. One time I dropped her off at 9am and they told me she was ready at 2pm. I don't get why it took 5 hours that one time. Appointments would be vaccines or a minor health concern. Basic stuff for a puppy. After my wellness plan ended, I decided to transfer to a different hospital. My first visit at that new hospital for my dog's annual vaccines only lasted 15 minutes. Compared to 2 hours. Since then at the new hospital I've been there maybe 3-4 times and it's always been 15-20 mins. I still don't understand why it takes a few hours at Banfield. If the doctor is running late or something or there's some understaff I would love to be let known instead of waiting hours to have my dog back.

After reading the other reviews I'm shocked people have had such a bad experience. I came here from the Banfield on Coleman (instead the Petsmart) and had a smooth transition. I have three dogs that go to this location. One who has severe anxiety going to the vet and just barks the entire time (which I know can be frustrating for some vets and vet techs). At the other Banfield I would get so much attitude about how crazy he was but here they have no problem with him. The other two are super quiet and chill they just don't like to walk to the back (which the vet techs don't seem to mind, they are okay carrying them). I have two on one of the plans and don't seem to have any issue. For all three, if they need any vaccines the front desk always lets me know a vet tech can provide them with the shots quickly instead of dropping them off for the day (which is always lovely for the one with anxiety). I ask for a 6 month supply of flea and tick and there is no problem! One of my dogs is on a prescription diet and when I asked if they can renew it there was no issue. Another gets a medication and I always call to see if I can get it refilled and they said its no problem! I do need one neutered so I can always update then (and see if they honor the wellness plan). The only reason it is not 5 stars is because I tried using the prescription diet on Chewy and Chewy said they couldn't contact the vet to verify so I had to look at a bunch of Petsmarts for the food

DO NOT BRING ANY ANIMAL YOU CARE ABOUT TO THIS CLINIC. I was going to start a wellness plan with banfield. I tried to get everything signed up when I brought my pup in. I had to leave my dog here for over 5 hours. Then was called and told that the plan price I was quoted in the morning doesn't exist (even though the banfield website can corroborate pricing) and that there was a start up fee for the plan. My 75ish dollar bill turned into 300+. I immediately tried to get my dog out but wouldn't get released until the payment was figured out. The staff and office manager are rude and do anything they can to gouge you for extra money. I found a coupon online and forced them to honor it. The vet seemed nice but all of the assistants and office staff are absolutely horrible. This place should be shut down. I wouldn't trust them with any animal for any period of time.

Ordered the flea treatment online and getting email(s) saying "Rx approval request has been sent to your Vet - 9th attempt" and 10th attempt with me on the phone. Hello?? Could someone at Banfield San Jose please be responsive and explain why no one has been able to send out the approval? We have been visiting Banfield Pet Hospital for the past 10+ years and each location should have access to my pet's records.Response to the Response below: I did email BanfieldCares and several departments for this matter and there are 25 emails back and forth but none of them reply to me directly. Hello, AGAIN.

They always try to recommend procedures that aren't necessary. They will usually say it's highly recommended to do certain tests or whatever. The several times I do pay hundreds to check something, they always never find anything wrong which makes me skeptical. Also the doctor visits are extremely impersonal and seems like they don't really care.Multiple friends in the vet industry (one who has actually worked at banfield) straight up told me that this place and the wellness plans are a scam...

The doctors and staff are friendly and amazing. They know how to take care of your furry babies like it was their own.

PLEASE, DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE. Took over 5 hours for my dog to be seen WITH AN APPOINTMENT after calling multiple times to check on status. This location additionally suggested numerous unrelated tests/plans and put my dog through great unnecessary stress for what should have been a simple appointment. Please bring your animal literally anywhere else.

This place is absolutely incompetent. My 15 year old cat has been on a prescription food diet for over 10 years and it was prescribed by a Banfield doctor. But when I called to get the RX refilled, they refused to do it unless it came from the specific doctor that last saw my pet, who conveniently isn't available for the next few days (and who isn't even the one that prescribed it in the first place). What difference does it make? The vet sees hundreds of pets a month and most likely doesn't even know what color my cat is. They also stop answering their phones at 4pm even though their hours say they're open until 6pm, making it even harder to get a hold of them. I'm canceling my wellness plan with them and finding a better local vet.
