I had a truly unbelievable experience in the store. I spoke with a very helpful gentleman when I arrived. Picked out what I wanted. Went to the counter to check out and the original person went on lunch and I got stuck with a person who must be a plant for the competition. I asked for pricing, he wouldn’t give it to me. I informed him that I was there to buy. Still wouldn’t. I asked how I would go about purchasing without knowing the price. He promptly threw out some random number off the top of his head. I reminded him again that I would like to purchase, he just stared at me. I left and called the phone number, a very nice man answered. Gave me pricing on 8 walnut and 8 birch sheets of 3/4 ply no problem. Regardless of pricing I won’t be going back. What a terrible way to run a business.

Decent hardwood prices, but selection is limited and they were low in stock on most domestic species. Assistance is nonexistent as there is one one person working the register, be prepared to come in knowing what you want and handling everything yourself.Store layout is now different from what is shown in the 3d photos.

Not what it used to be. Lumber stock was low (only one wall worth, not like the 3d picture available here) and the selection was poor when I went. No prices anywhere and when asked at the counter they just give vague estimates. They did have stuff and you are free to peruse, so if you do need something, you'll have a chance to get it. Prices seemed OK based on estimates, but I didn't purchase any to say.

Anyone know what there current price list is? As forsome.stipid reason they dont have one. Id like to be able to price projects in advance and accurately not just play guess work. Unless does anyone know of any other hard wood suppliers? Not Home depot or lowes please.

Very less collection of actual hardwood, staff is not friendly or helpful.

Great quality hardwood is getting yep hard to find these days. Depending on what you are doing, being able to find that say plank of cherry wood with a good grain can make or break a project. This is where Aura comes in. This is a working lumberyard. There is a smaller area for you to look at a huge selection of exotic and more conventional milled wood. They also have a huge selection of hardwood grained plywood etc. Friendly and knowledgeable staff that are happy to answer questions.

Called for a quote over the phone before making a trip out there but when I arrived the following day, the employee at the counter gave me an overpriced quote compared to the quote I received over the phone ($15 vs $10 per bf) I felt like I was given poor service and overpriced quotes because I don't look like the typical contractor and younger age. Also seemed annoyed that I asked for a couple prices when there are no prices listed anywhere... but ok. Drove 45 minutes to be given poor service and condescending attitude. Sticking to Moore Newton Quality Hardwoods and MacBeath since they have higher quality wood AND most importantly non discriminatory service.

Local gem, world renown. Great products, best customer service and they support the hobbyist. You don't have to spend 1000 bux to get quality materials and support. Come in with an entitled sense of self, they will help adjust your mentality. Come in with questions and you will get a host of options from people who know. I am a garage woodworker- no connection to this business other than being a customer.

The people are unhelpful, cashiers at desk were lazy, uninformed about their products, and acted as if I were bothering them, even though I planned to spend thousands of dollars at their store. Horrible experience. I only put one star because I had to, this place deserves 0 stars

Great inventory of hardwoods, decent selection of ply (although it looks like they may normally have better but were low during my visit). DO NOT expect ANY help from any employees. If you have any questions Google them beforehand if you want to know the price you'll have to wait until you check out. They seem very annoyed by anything as simple as "how much is the (fill in the blank)?"

Such a cool place, with so many choices for plywood and solid hardwood. Most lumberyards I have been to are focused on professional customers so were pretty intimidating for hobby DIYers like myself. Shopping at this place was intuitive like how you do at Home Depot. They don’t provide cutting service, but I think it makes the experience better because you don’t have to suffer from the endless saw noise and dust.

This is a fantastic and knowledgeable hardwood and plywood lumber store. I moved to the area recently and needed kiln dried 4/4 S3S cherry lumber and this place had plenty in stock. Friendly staff and an employee also went out of his way to retrieve a unit of pine so I could select a few boards for a seperate project. If you need lumber and plywood go here and avoid Home Depot and Lowes, you'll be glad you did.

Terrible customer service. The guy at the counter couldn't be bothered to help us or even answer our questions. Q: Do you have this type of wood? A: Yes, but I'd have to get it from the back. You should have called ahead. (No effort to help) Q: What is the price of this particular lumber (pointing to the one we wanted)? A: I don't know. Each wood is priced individually. (No effort to check price) Q: Okay, so how much would it be? A: I don't know. I'd have to look it up. (No effort to look it up) We drove all the way from Mountain View to visit this showroom, but walked out disappointed. Pity, as they lost a sizeable business. They need to have people at the counter who are customer service oriented, not ones who couldn't care less if you purchased from them or not. Plus, they don't cut any wood or plywood. No exceptions. So you need to figure out how to transport 16' pieces of wood.

Yaay for the one nice, young guy who helped my client and I. (A couple of the other guys were a bit sucky at customer service, but the nice guy made up for their suckyness). I LOVE that Aura now sources all woods from FSC sources. That means they actually care about the environment enough to to source woods from sustainably managed forests. So five stars for the one nice young guy & caring for our planet:) PS, the older pissy and unhelpful guys should know how very close they were to a roast review before your kind co-worker saved your asses:) maybe buy him lunch & then get some customer service training for the grumpy geezers. Cheers to sustainably managed forests and kind people!!

Needed a couple sheets of 1/2" marine plywood. The front desk advised they were in the back and set out immediately to get them for me. 15 minutes later, I was driving out of the parking lot with the plywood in tow. Easy peasy!
