I brought my dog in for a boil and he drew blood instead and charged me 325.00. What a thief.

This place is AMAZING. . . . . even during this Covid-19 Pandemic! My poor Chihuahua (Frankie) ripped his chest open on a screw that was sticking up and needed surgery right away. I pulled up at Alum Rock Animal Hospital hysterical. And even with a long line of other pets outside (none of whom were emergencies), they immediately rushed him inside and THANK GOD saved him. They have done an EXCELLENT job following up to make sure he finished his antibiotics, came back for a tube removal and got his stitches out.

After training K9 dogs for years and been to God knows how many vets, Ali at this animal hospital was just amazing with an amazing way of dealing with a breed many fears and how he guided and suggested treatment. If it was possible to give more than 5, I would easily double it. Keep up the good work we all care for - our valued pets

Alum Rock is go to in San Jose. Open weekends, consistent staff, patient, helpful. Drs. Bath are two committed vets and care wonderfully for the animals.

I had a very disappointing experience at this vet. My dog fell ill, and despite being a regular client, the staff seemed more interested in pushing medication than actually diagnosing the issue. They were unable to determine what was wrong with my dog, even though he had PARVO, which could have been caught with proper testing. To make matters worse, during his last visit for vaccinations, they only gave him a rabies shot and ignored the need for parvo vaccination. It felt like their focus was more on making money than on providing quality care. I’m deeply frustrated and concerned about the lack of attention to my dog’s health. I took my dog to another vet and he is strong and healthy now.

Great place to take animals. The only interesting thing that this office does for annual visits is that they take the animal to a different room to do the examination so the pet parents are just waiting in a room while they see the doc.

In San Jose, there is no other animal hospital I trust to care for our dog than here.

I came here to get my 3 year old cat spayed.
When I initially called they were super sweet, efficient and over all had a welcoming demeanor and helped me find the best appointment date and time for me.
When it came to the day of the appointment I showed up right at 830a, but it took them about 2 hours to get us into a room and seen with the vet to get the exam started. Other than that, the service was impeccable, the vet was gental and patient with my cat. She was very clear and percises when explaining to me the procedure and all the medications and how to adminitlster them.
The spay was a good price as well, it was about $700, which was better than most other places that quoted me around $900 - $1100.

This vet will tell the city about your pets, forcing you to pay a pet licensing fee. This is an extra charge loosely associated with the rabies vaccine, which I strongly believe will discourage pet owners from bringing their pet to the vet.

While the surgery on my cat was successful and the manager + technician helped resolve payment problems, the overall handling and customer service was horrible. They took my cat in at 4 and promised to call before the end of the day. During the surgery, they called to inform us that the foreign object was removed and that the doctor would talk to us more later. We spent an agonizing night waiting with no updates. It was horrible waiting and thinking about why there was no update. We came in the next morning only to be told we weren't supposed to come until they called again. The lack of clear communication and dismissive attitude was infuriating. The technician gave a condescending apology and blatantly said we were wrong for telling her that we were not told our cat was staying overnight. When we pointed out that we actually weren't told, she brushed it under the rug by saying she thought it was clear. The doctor showed no concern when we raised up this issue. They didn't explain the overnight stay or procedure clearly at all. I understand that my cat needs to stay overnight due to the major surgery, but we should at least be told? That's basic service. For the thousands of dollars we paid, we at least deserved a basic level of service. The place is disorganized, the staff are rude, and they clearly lack the skills to handle such situations. If you have the money to, save yourself the stress and take your pet somewhere else.
