Called Hector about a check engine light and flashing "d" on dashboard. Went to Auto Zone and borrowed their meter to determine problem. Cost for the 2nd gear transmission switch was $40-$60. Took car to Hector because I've used his service in the past, but surprised he charged me $80 for the part. Auto Zone is about 1 mile from his shop. Otherwise, he's a good mechanic.

I learned the hard way using other mechanics to try to fix smog related check engine light problems with paying lots of money and still not passing smog. Since it is a star test and repair station you have to be a very good mechanic which Hector is. The cost is of repairs is a fair price and he does not try to up sell you unneeded repairs, very honest. Anytime the check engine light goes on in any of my families cars I go straight to Hector.
