What a fun experience at Blue House Farm picking strawberries!! Lovely, peaceful farm about 20 min drive from San Gregorio State Beach. Nice way to spend the afternoon and you can stop by the beach later to enjoy them. Came by early October and there were still a good amount of strawberries. Everyone on the farm was friendly with directions and helping us check out as well. Can't wait to come back!

Awesome spot to pick strawberries! Came early September and there were still a lot of strawberries to pick. It's self service for picking strawberries which is what makes it fun! A very fun activity to just stroll around picking and seeing all the different shapes and sizes of strawberries

Neat place to pick some strawberries and get fresh produce on the way to the beach. They had a lot of pumpkins too. The strawberries were fresh off the vine!

Great strawberry picking. Field is well kept and is in a beautiful area. Also never really super hot. They also have a picnic area so its great to eat a packed lunch after picking. Also great produce. keep buying their carrots for roasting. You can actually taste the sweetness difference.

Blue house farm is such a hidden gem. Located a bit south of Half Moon Bay, it's relatively easy to get to from the Peninsula and probably the closest u-pick strawberry field around. I've frequented their vegetable stands at various farmers markets around the Bay before, so I was super excited when I found out they have a u-pick strawberry. Strawberries are $7/lb (no entrance fee or minimum), but I guarantee it's some of the sweetest, freshest strawberries you'll ever have. Plus it's worth it just for the fun experience overall! Their farm is very well-maintained and there's plenty of fruit. Other strawberry farms I've been to in the area seem to be overrun with people, which makes it hard to find ripe fruit. Blue house farm does close their farm when they are out of ripe fruit to avoid that type of situation, so I'd definitely recommend checking their website or Instagram before heading over to make sure they are open. While you're there, make sure to grab some fresh veggies and flowers from the farm shed. Their flowers are so beautiful, though as a warning to allergy sufferers it is fresh cut flowers so pollen did drop all over the place - at least the particular bouquet I got had that issue. Their shishito peppers are so fresh and yummy compared to the ones in the grocery store. If you can't stop by the farm, be sure to look out for their stand at your nearby farmers market for super fresh vegetables!

Fresh organic produce grown there & from the surrounding areas. Great place to go & U-Pick Strawberries??? so delicious too! Even at mid day, the weather is cool enough to be out in the field picking in this area. The kiddos absolutely love it as well!

We enjoyed our family outing to pick our own strawberries. They were so flavorful and delicious. We also purchased organic vegetables from the farm and they were incredibly fresh. It was our first visit but many more to come

Great organic strawberry u-pick experience! They provide cardboard boxes at the entrance before you go into the strawberry fields. We arrived right around their 12pm opening and were easily able to find a row to ourselves. We immediately saw lots of ripe strawberries, and it was very easy to fill up our containers, which hold about 2.5lbs. It is a little pricey at $7/lb but when you get to take home a container full of delicious perfectly ripe strawberries, it's hard to complain.

U-Pick strawberry picking is such a fun, interactive activity to do with friends and family! In searching for something a little different to do, we came to Blue House Farm (1 hr from SF) to try picking our own strawberries for the very first time. Upon arrival around 12:30 PM on a Saturday, we saw plenty of parking spots in their lot. We walked right into the berry picking area, which had a bunch of boxes at the front for customers to grab and put your strawberries in. In general, they charge $7/lb or strawberry, but with no farm entrance fee or anything! There were plenty of people picking strawberries on the day we went, but there were also plenty of strawberries to be picked. They suggest you only pick the ripe strawberries, which were all a really beautiful red color. At the end, our party of four picked over 7 lbs of strawberries to take home with us. Blue House Farm also sells pre-picked strawberries and other produce/flowers in their barn where you pay. We didn't pick up anything extra, but everything looked incredibly fresh. Also, noting that they only have porta potty bathrooms and sink at the farm. I highly recommend Blue House Farm for U-Pick strawberries. We tried our freshly picked berries at home and they were so sweet and juicy - so much better than anything store bought. Overall, we had a lot of fun at the farm and would definitely return.

Lovely farm for strawberry u-pick! Came by on Saturday afternoon. The flavors of ripe strawberries are very tasty. Friendly for kids. Inside of the barn, you also can purchase strawberries there. Highly recommended! Much closer than Brentwood farms for families from peninsula.

Great place for u pick strawberries! A lot of different sizes of ripe strawberries. Sweet and juicy. $7/lb is pricier than supermarket but it’s worth the experience.

Came on Saturday May 27th around 1pm and there were basically no ripe strawberries left to pick. Wasn't able to fill up even one brown box that they provided, ended up leaving with less than 2lbs. We saw groups of people leaving with at least 5-6 brown boxes each filled to the brim with strawberries. If you're planning on coming tomorrow, you shouldn't since there's nothing left. If you are planning for next weekend I would come Saturday right when they open. Would have been a great experience if they limited the amount each person could pick to save strawberries for those coming by afterwards. Not worth the drive from San Francisco unfortunately since there isn't enough to go around.

About a 45 min drive from Palo Alto sits this humble farm in the mountains of San Gregorio. We visited this farm on Saturday, the weekend of Halloween. There were still plenty of pumpkins to choose from in the field, but there were also pre-picked pumpkins at the barn ready for purchase. There were wheelbarrows available for easy pumpkin hauling. We really enjoyed our time going through the field searching for pumpkins. The pumpkins were priced by size: mini pumpkins were $3, medium were $10, and so on so forth. Inside the barn, there were other produce items for sale such as kale, turnips, beets, carrots, etc. All organic! I was surprised to find such quality beets (and their greens) for $3.50 a bunch-what a steal! All in all, a great experience. The produce is definitely top quality, and it's wonderful being able to support local! Highly recommend a visit if you get the chance!

Adorable small farm en route to the coast! We popped by to snag a pumpkin for a last minute jack o lantern, and walked away with some delicious house made pickles to boot! Nothing compares to the eye popping beauty of the farmstand fresh produce - bright peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, greens, squash, decorative corn... BHF also sports the broadest selection of heirloom dried beans that I've found outside of Rancho Gordo. A lovely spot to picnic (several picnic tables on the grounds) and enjoy your fresh produce on your way to/from the coast.
