We have made coming here for pumpkins (and sometimes u-pick strawberries though it's a challenge to find good ones in October) a Halloween tradition in our family for 3 years now. What we love is that it's how I think pumpkin patches should be: never crowded (even on October weekends when all the other pumpkin patches along the coast are packed), affordable (pumpkins here are significantly cheaper than many other pumpkin patches), no-frills (no rides, mazes, bounce houses, etc. ... okay, they do have corn hole which my kids like playing), and close to nature, i.e. you're on a real farm. So many pumpkin patches have become so removed from their roots of being literally a "patch" on a farm where you get pumpkins (they've instead turned into mini-carnivals), that's it's a well-needed and refreshing change to come to Blue House.
As a bonus, unlike many other pumpkin patches that sell over-priced processed junk food, they have an extensive selection of fresh, organic produce (I highly recommend the Jimmy Nardello peppers!) in their barn (they also have baked goods from a local bakery and some cold drinks). I actually buy produce from them quite frequently since they are a stable presence in the SF farmer's market scene, but it's great to physically be at their farm and get produce as fresh as possible.

We have been here twice so far and we love this place. Their farm stands sells some baked goods, meats, and vegetables as well. I would highly recommend the strawberries and cream when available, and lemon poppy seed muffin.
The strawberries are nice and juicy and the farm is relaxing.

Beware of stinging nettles. There are stinging nettles all across the farm with no warning signs posted. Unfortunately all kids in our group touched these and were stung by the plants. They have super painful hands and bad rash which is not going away even after hours. My issue is either you remove these plants or at least post Warning signs so parents are cautious. Our entire experience was ruined. Will not recommend to anyone!

Great u-pick place. We arrived at 4:30 pm, and it was still open. There are a lot of full red strawberries.
Note the price is $7 per pound higher than usual purchase, but worth the taste.

Drove 2 hrs on 4/6/2024 and the website said picking strawberries till 4 PM when we arrive they’re telling me that there’s no strawberries. They were closed and they’re opening next week so they should’ve said that on the website I don’t recommend this place for strawberry picking and the farmers market didn’t have nothing all dried vegetables.

Amazing place, awesome hyper local produce (and some products made from them) run by great people. What more could you ask for?

What a fun experience at Blue House Farm picking strawberries!! Lovely, peaceful farm about 20 min drive from San Gregorio State Beach. Nice way to spend the afternoon and you can stop by the beach later to enjoy them. Came by early October and there were still a good amount of strawberries. Everyone on the farm was friendly with directions and helping us check out as well. Can't wait to come back!

Awesome spot to pick strawberries! Came early September and there were still a lot of strawberries to pick. It's self service for picking strawberries which is what makes it fun! A very fun activity to just stroll around picking and seeing all the different shapes and sizes of strawberries
