Ying Hobbies & Toys it's the hidden gem you never knew you needed! My wife stumbled upon this treasure while on a quest for Gunpla goodness, and boy, am I glad she did. Tucked away in a cozy spot, Ying Hobbies & Toys might play hard to get at first, but once you lay eyes on its bounty of plastic wonders, you'll be hooked. The store might be small, but it's bursting at the seams with an array of model kits that'll make any Gundam fan's heart skip a beat. Seriously, choosing just one model feels like trying to pick a favorite child - impossible and bound to hurt someone's feelings. But fear not, the guy running the place is pretty helpful. With his guidance, navigating through the sea of model kits becomes a breeze! Oh and the pricing is super fair specially for all the cool stuff you can find. So, if you're a Gundam enthusiast or just someone who appreciates the art of model kits, do yourself a favor and pay Ying Hobbies & Toys a visit. Trust me, it'll quickly become your go-to spot for all things Gunpla. Happy building, fellow plastic yelp warriors!

The secrety vibe is so nice giving that humble homey little store. Hundreds of built gundam on display if you’re looking for inspiration. Prices are fair and inventory is also stacked.

Just picked up a Gundam model as a Christmas present for my son. It's a pretty cool spot. A lot of selection and the guy working there is nice. Thankful that there's still interesting shops like this in the city.

It's a modestly sized shop tucked away in the side streets of Chinatown. The charming & homely atmosphere makes browsing their densely packed shelves a genuine and welcoming experience. Small businesses like this are what make SF shine!

Been going here regularly for a couple years. There's a decent selection with most of the MGs that are available in the US(obviously omitting kits that are not receiving a reprint from Bandai). Got a Hi Nu Ver ka, buster, and duel all for just a bit above retail. Expect to pay around $10 above the market price for MGs(sometimes kits are straight up cheaper than market, ex. I got a jesta for a little below market). I don't really go for HG kits but they tend to sit around market price. But I don't mind paying for the asking price since I have little patience with shipping and it's about the same price online with all the fees. As for tools and paint, there's everything that one would need. I go here exclusively for the matte top coat I use for most of my kits since it's the cheapest I can find. I don't know the guys name who owns the place but man is his smile infectious haha. Friendly dude who's happy to share helpful tips. So glad SF has a gem like this one to supply the bay with gunpla. Hope this helps guys

And there's variety there tooIn barnes and noble, it's near the games and puzzles. A bit of a search, but I regret purchasing from here based on, what I can only assume, are false reviewsCramped, small storeNo space to walkThings easily being knocked downGuy is nice but definitely needs a bit of cleaning and organizing

very cool store, although a lot of the kits are a little pricey (Gundam Phsyalis was 35$ when it’s usually around 25$)
