We were gifted a pottery session with Marieke for our anniversary and had a blast! Her studio is an easy BART ride from our home in the East Bay. All attendees were beginners, like us. Marieke began with a brief history of her home, as well as of her basement studio and the mystery of the "X?X" club that used to meet there. She demonstrated how to use the pottery wheel, and we dove in! Everything we needed was already provided for us, and Marieke was attentive to our needs. She was extremely patient in offering advice and stepping in, if desired. My husband and I each made two pieces and selected the glaze for each one. We are excited that we will be returning to the studio in a few weeks to pick up the finished products. Marieke was very organized and professional in her approach to her business. (Oh, and the bonus is being in the vibrant Mission District, with no shortage of things to see and places to eat!) Highest recommendations!

Class was great! Marieke was great! She gave a nice intro to the space and how to get started and was very patient and accommodating. Highly recommend for a group activity. We had a good time, learned something, and came out w some art work.

Great class, great location, great instruction. It’s a very cute old Victorian house with a fun history and modern equipment. I did an initial 2 hour intro class and got a lot of individual attention. I wanna go back as I’m getting ideas for projects now

This class is so much fun! Marieke is a fantastic and supportive pottery teacher and the studio space is so unique. This was my first time taking a pottery class, so she walked through how to get started and was very patient and stepped in when I needed help! She also fostered such a fun environment with the other students. By the end of the class, we were all rooting for each other! ?Great time!
