“This is a great place to shop for all things baseball apparel!!! And the customer service is through the roof!!! Please talk to my boy Nick he’ll hook you up and point you in the right direction.”
“I had the best experience working with Mary at Bridal Breeze! I went into the store not sure if what I was looking for even existed, and I found one that was perfect (plus several others that were also beautiful, just not exactly what I wanted). I think the store has fewer dresses that some of the other stores I went to, but they were all perfectly curated, so I was trying on one beautiful dress after another! They also post their entire inventory online, which was really useful for me beforehand, as I was trying to decide whether it was worth the drive from the south bay all the way up to the city. It definitely definitely was! They do not do alterations, but they have a few tailors who they recommend. I've heard horror stories about other shops ordering dresses multiple sizes too big so they can gouge you on alterations, so I'm happy to have avoided that conflict of interest. My dress pretty much fits, just needs some minor adjustments. Do note that the store is very small, so they can only handle one bride at a time. Definitely make an appointment before you go.”
“They took it to an extreme to make sure I had a great experience and are willing to talk to you! Two things truly I appreciate from this company and will continue to give my business too.”
“I’ve been using Short Story for a while now, and I genuinely love it. As someone who’s petite and curvy, I never fully realized that petite clothing wasn’t just for skinny bodies — this service completely changed how clothes fit and feel on me. Everything is so well-proportioned, and it’s been a real confidence boost.
They do an amazing job sending pieces that match my style, along with items I wouldn’t normally choose but end up loving once I try them on. The convenience is huge — I love being able to try things at home and really think through my purchases. Anytime I’ve needed more time or had to make a return, they’ve been incredibly kind and flexible.
Some pieces can feel a bit pricey, but when I factor in the time saved, convenience, and how much I truly love what I keep, it feels worth it. If something isn’t quite right or I want a similar piece with a tweak, they do a great job adjusting and sending something that fits what I’m looking for.
If you’re petite — especially if you’re curvy — and tired of guessing what might fit, Short Story is absolutely worth trying.”
“Great store and customer service! I purchased a pair of abalone shell earrings and the sales associate kindly assisted me with researching online the earring’s material. She went above and beyond with helping me find out the information I had asked about. Rare service nowadays! ??? Also, a great shop for gifts as there are cute cards, candles, socks, etc!”
“Alicia is the heart and soul of her amazing store, Land of the Sun. It’s one of the few original businesses from the peace and love Haight Ashbury scene of the 60s and 70s. I love all the merchandise she offers, especially my mushroom bell bottoms, Alice in Wonderland vintage t-shirt, the Grateful Dead t-shirts, stickers and patches. Every time my husband and I visit San Francisco, we make a homage to the Haight, and we definitely make a stop into Alicia’s wonderland to soak in the positive vibes and creativity that she radiates. It’s an integral part of our SF experience. Please support Alicia and her business! With all the online competition it’s harder to compete, but the online competition doesn’t offer the magic and love that Land of the Sun does. We love you, Alicia, and wish you all the best! ???❤️?”
“Beautiful, curated shop with Mid-Century Modern aesthetics, high quality clothing, and possibly the sweetest owners (+ Harold the dog) I've ever met. They were eager to talk about the materials and manufacturing processes of the pieces I pointed out and were quick to offer a place to put my bags and even enjoy some refreshments. Talking with them felt natural and enjoyable, and it never felt as if they were pressuring me to buy anything...although I did walk out with a killer Cawley coat that I got about 12 compliments on over the weekend. The prices are high but absolutely justified for the quality (these are items you keep for life), and the owners genuinely care about promoting smaller brands over the fashion giants you may see at Nordstrom or the mall. If you can afford their pieces, they are worth the splurge! And even if you can't, the place and people are still well worth the trip. :)”
“We recently moved across town (away from Siren), and one of the biggest things I'll miss most is being able to run into Siren for the perfect outfit for any occasion. The folks there are just incredible, and the selection is fantastic (as are the prices). But it's worth the trek across town, and I'll be sure to visit as often as possible. Would LOVE to see a second location on the north side!”
“I ran into Margaret O'Leary on Filmore in a rush but wanted to see if they had something cute to wear to the theater. Teresa picked out things for me to try on in a flash. She styled me head to toe and I bought everything. I look forward to working with Teresa in the future for future events!”

“I love this shop! Art is amazing, it houses a bunch of amazing, talented artists and is full of colors, light, love and joy! A place of body inclusivity, family, friendship, acceptance and love!!! The girl at the front was informative, kind and gracious, we will be customers for life now! ?”
“Love Love Love!!! This line of clothing! High quality! The leather vests are soft, but durable and very nicely made! I love everything about this store! The owners are pretty awesome also!!!”
“Just like to say how much I like my Cotopaxi vest. Just bought my second vest as I wore out my first one after many years. I have had so many compliments from people, maybe it’s the color, that I never get when I’m wearing any other vest as I have several from other outfitters. Love it.”
“Best clothing store in SF. Howard and Mary are so meticulous about their selections, their clothing is perfectly curated to perfection. Not to mention, all of their employees are truly gems of humans.”
“What a wonderful little shop!! And the owner is a kind, compassionate and upbeat guy! We just visited Fisherman's Wharf in S.F. from L.A., and re-discovered this welcoming place! I bought a purple T-shirt custom-screened with a dog logo, and the owner also gave me an SF key chain. I appreciated the low price, and the merchandise is first-rate and unique. I highly recommend visiting and patronizing this place.”
“A great shop that supports small business owners/artists. The designs are fresh and cute, and the clothing options are varied with size inclusivity. Sydney was a great touch point when I first walked in and we had a friendly chat. Highly recommend—you can find something for anyone!”
“Support it! Saw it on the news. Does it have to be done in the third level? I am Chinese living in Miami, and there is no such custom-made cheongsam here. I'm not in California. Can you provide me with the measurements and mail one to me?”
“Kamisha (sp? :) was very knowledgeable about the inventory & nice to talk to. They have a large selection, so having a helpful guide who knows where to find what you ask for without having to look it up is great.
Some places the weedrista ? just stare at the packages along with you looking to see what has CBG in it. Kamisha knew her stuff & offered helpful alternatives as well.
Good shop, good staff.”
“My first time walking in the store I fell in love with the selection of unique merchandise and the owner - Trisha.
I bought San Francisco icon pins to take to Hungary for gifts. Trish was accommodating to pins that I only like in the set. I orders 100?
I also bought couple of items. I got so many complements on my jacket.
I will be checking new merchandise every week?”

“What a wonderful experience. I wandered into this store after a recommendation from a colleague. I was seeking a particular item, stationery for letters and envelopes. As soon as I entered, Danielle welcomed me with a smile and offered to help. She listened carefully and brought me a wide selection of products to choose from. Each package had a different theme with cards, stickers, and envelopes. I was so pleased with the price and cute factor of all the products. Danielle invited me to explore the store after I made my selection. There are so much fun gift ideas from coasters to bags to women's clothing. During checkout, Danielle explained the history of the store, shared other locations around the Bay Area, and promoted the fact that this store is Female and family owned. I look forward to coming back to explore and recommend you do too! Until next time.”
“I had an amazing experience dealing with this store online. I was able to find a Max Mara coat I was scouring the internet for, and it was sold out everywhere except here! I even called Max Mara and they told me they would not be able to get it in until next Fall season, so I was super excited to see it in my size. I've never shopped at this site before, but I was confident in purchasing anyways due to the awesome reviews. Chelsey O'Brien was wonderful, and even emailed me to thank me for the purchase and to check in to see how much I loved the new coat! This retailer is family-owned, which I love, and they have so many amazing designer pieces on their site which is well-stocked. Will be shopping here a lot more now!!”
“Porto carries a variety of lovely Italian clothes. Also check out their selection of Matt and Nat purses and bags from Montreal (they're vegan!) I bought one the last time I visited the store and am more than happy with it! Porto also has a wonderful selection of pretty jewelery. The store's owners are fabulous people.”
“I had a great experience getting my leather coat tailored here! Skip and Joe are very attentive and made sure I liked the finish product. I wasn't satisfied after the first iteration and they made further adjustments for no additional cost! Love my coat now and can't wait to wear it!”
“Had a lovely time here and purchased the most incredible and adorable fuzzy large and UNIQUE fanny pack! Be sure to support local small businesses! They need it more than Amazon. ? They totally helped me celebrate my birthday! #leoseason ♌️ Thanks to the owner and the customer service representative! ✌️”
“Great place. Nice fire places and areas to hang out and read a book or just chill. Service is good. Like most of San Francisco, you have to bee concerned about leaving anything in your car.”
“Isso is a neighborhood staple! Despite the proximity to Valencia and Dolores, Isso manages to have affordable pieces. Many of the clothes are sourced and hand tailored to make original garments, or are otherwise lovely vintage pieces. I’ve gotten 2 pairs of jeans/ trouser from here - both were under $20 and are two of the most complimented pieces in my wardrobe! Super unique, chic, sustainable place to shop :)”
“Peace, love, and, uh, capitalism.
The store is groovy, I admit that. It's got all the requisite '70s rock merch. It's well arranged, it's colorful, it's psychedelic, it's pretty. But it hurts my soul a little bit that all this stuff is marked up to hock to tourists.
Still, there's probably no better place on the block to get Jimi Hendrix jammies for your toddler, so do with that information what you will.”
“I was a bit nervous not to go in wearing a cord. I was helped and even bought the San Francisco AP Badges! Which is an experience because I definitely don't live close ??”
“This boutique is a hidden gem. They have soo many cute clothes and accessories. I literally love everything I’ve bought here and continue to come back for more. Thank you Victoria and VBoutique for the best shopping experience!!!”
“Best in the city!! We’ve been here well over 5 times now for alterations on wedding gowns, to full-suits, to simple pant hems. The work is ALWAYS GREAT, very reasonably priced, and on time.So thankful we found NB Tailoring & Alterations!”
“Pure Barre is terrific! I joined 3 years ago because I needed to get stronger to avoid falls and broken bones. Classes are never boring, the teachers are excellent, the music is fun and always changing and the routines are challenging, all in a good way!”
