I miss West Pawtal SO MUCH! It used to be our go-to pet food and supply shop when we lived in the area until a couple months ago, when we moved up north. Tina is SO informed/educated on the products they carry in the store, she shows wonderful customer care/service (still texts me to wish me happy holidays), although they're a small business in the middle of San Francisco their prices are reasonable, and they carry SO MUCH product for the size of the shop! Great little pet store with affordable prices. Some items are cheaper here than other competitors. There is plenty of toys, natural dog food, and plenty of grooming essentials here. Also there is plenty of Bay Area doggy clothes (49ers, Warriors, Giants) which I thought was great. I highly recommend to shop this small business! Customer service is also very good!

I love this shop! Its locally owned and led. The owner is super sweet and he carries an array of pet supplies (mostly cat and dog). I also love how many natural pet products he carries.

First of all, I love the name, so cute-- West Pawtal???.I actually didn't know I can bought "cat grass seed" & "cat nip" here, just want to give it a try, because Papenhaussen Hardware Store doesn't have it ? and West Pawtal have it all?❤️ .Even though it's a small place, everything is put so neat and organized.I randomly bought some treat for the feral cat I was feeding and she loves it and she also go crazy by just smelling cat nip.I am going to visit more often from now on.The staff is super nice and helpful.& I can use mobile payment.

Went there twice and looked around for a few minutes and waited around 20-30 minutes and absolutely nobody came and nobody was at the cashier the place was open with nobody there to attend

This is a local business I have no problem supporting. This place always has my cat's favorite food, and it comes in cases. The area is a bit small, but doesn't feel crowded. The owner is friendly, and if you can't find something there, he will order it for you. I sometimes even grab random treats which are always available. Parking in West Portal is not ideal, but that's hardly the shop's fault. Treat you pet!

Came in in search of a specific kibble brand. When I walked in, whoever was running the store was watching a man and trying to get him away from the store. I saw the kibble I wanted buried under a pile of a bunch of other kibble. I approached him while he was still outside the store watching the man and asked if I could get the bag of kibble. He shook his head. When I asked him what he meant by that, he said "no no no, that's special." Again, asked him what he meant and he said "that's only for special orders". Can't tell if this person was racial profiling me and the other man he was watching, but the way he responded was rude and cold.

Tina, the owner is sweet and hospitable! Stumbled upon this spot with my friend while I was with my puppy Bruno and did not expect to find a wonderful pet shop! We were literally on our way to dinner after spending an hour next door shopping at Siren Boutique when we discovered this gem. There is a wide selection of pet food, treats, accessories, clothes, toys and even plants! Tina was so sweet to let my friend and I walk around her store even though it was close to closing! Thanks Tina for making our experience so pleasant and entertaining! She offered my puppy, Bruno some treats as well! I will definitely be back to support this business! I purchased a pair of PJ pants and socks with a brown golden doodle puppy that looks like my Bruno! Also got him some an SF Giants Jersey and an SF 49ers Jersey. They also had Warriors gear as well by Bruno has that already. If you are a fellow dog mama or papa, please be sure to stop by and check out their expanded space next door! The service is wonderful and for cat lovers they have the greatest selection of foods for our picky fussy fur babies. I love the store and go out of my way to support this wonderful SF GEM.

It may seem small but they always have everything I need. The owners have been super nice every time I have gone in, and have even helped me out to my car with heavy products (big bag of cat litter). This is now my go-to pet store.

I owned a petcare business and this place is my go to for everything I need for my clients and my own pets. They have the best selection in San Francisco and the owner Tina is professional and knowledgeable. Everything they sell is high quality and they carry a huge variety of food, toys, treats and chews. They have everything you need and more! My dogs are my family and I only buy them good quality food and treats and this is the place I go! I love supporting small businesses and I highly recommend to everyone!

I happened to pass by and don't know how I could have missed this neighborhood gem! The store is small but is packed with such a great variety of essential pet supplies and high quality treats. There are literally tons of individual treats that you can pick and choose from. This gives me the option to try different treats before committing to a large bag. The prices are very reasonable, comparable to larger pet chains.
